Holyyyyyyyy shit that was intense.

Okay, a first and foremost, this is an anthology. I did not know that in advance. Anthologies are always a mixed bag for me, and it's rare that I end up actually liking them because there never seems to be enough room to tell the stories to their full potential. However, that's not a problem for this anthology; the shortness of each story makes their narration tight and intense, which ultimately makes each story pretty solid.

Instead, the problem this anthology faces is the randomness of the themes present in here. Like, I am not a stranger to intense/dark/disturbing stories, nor am I a stranger to anthologies with those themes. However, I am a complete stranger to anthologies that contain both self-aware parody comedies and dark, intense dramas. For those who are curious, this anthology features three stories: the cover story, about two mob characters trying to become main characters (honestly super funny; the parody was done so well and I LOVED the follow up story from this set), the second story, about two step brothers and their complex relationship (yes, there is incest), and the third story, about a student and teacher who both have very heavy scars from their pasts and whose love is intense, violent, and toxic (features: rape, sexual assault, sexual torture). .

The choice to put these three widely different stories together in one anthology is baffling; there is no connective thread that makes them feel like they should be in a book together. If these are all the works the mangaka has completed at this time, I get it, but it's just so strange, and I can't help but wish Renta had picked it up so each chapter could be published/purchased individually.

On the plus side, the art was really beautiful. That was, by far, my favorite part. The art in the last section, especially, was amazing and horrifying. If you like both comedies and horror stories, give this a shot. However, if you read what the anthology contains and it doesn't sound like your thing, stay away. Personally, I darker/horror-esque stories, but that last one still wasn't really my thing.

A sweet story about half brothers from different moms, one is 100% Japanese and one is 50/50. The younger one 柊ユキ (seme) and the older one 柊夏生 (uke) met once when they were young, where the older bro protected the younger bro from the gossipy neighbors. The older bro was sad when the younger bro suddenly left without saying goodbye…

They meet again when they got into the same university and started to live under one roof. The younger bro has loved the older bro since they were kids, but the older bro may just feel a sense of responsibility because they are blood-related? A bunch of boys went on a beachside camping trip together and something started to change…


水底に棲むこどもたち
A dark and twisted story about the high school teacher 森崎大悟 who grew up with a super strict and controlling mom and had to suppress his emotions and urges, and the student 鷹野未来 who suffered from sexual abuse from his birth dad in childhood and then finally got abandoned by his mom who’s gonna marry again…

The teacher likes the student and tried to save him by visiting his home to convince him to return to school… After the teacher saved the student from attempted suicide and they had sex, the student begin to torture the teacher every day and the table turns (reversible couple)…

I like the analogy about fireflies that only exist in the mountain with clean air. In the end they both left the school and continue to lick each other’s wounds.

Qué decir. Peak, top tier yaoi manga🗣️🗣️🗣️💥💥💥 Es probablemente lo más gracioso que he leído en mucho tiempo, tanto por la trama como por la traducción de Fujur

El título es bastante descriptivo: existe una trama principal sobre la historia de amor ultra cliché de Ren Saotome y Akira Nikaidou, a lo que Fulano Fulaniyama y Mengano Menganitani (XD) son partícipes como personajes de relleno a los que han dejado a medio dibujar. Queriendo salir de su situación de no-relevancia, intentan destacar de muchas maneras aunque la trama siempre se lo impida, por lo que la única manera de salir de esa situación es intentando transformarse en los personajes principales de un BL.

Como disclaimer, tiene escenas +18, pero se amenizan por las constantes bromas que se hacen en medio.

Dos chicos que vivieron juntos de niños vuelven a vivir juntos como compañeros de piso y van a un campamento juntos, y cuando vuelven se enrollan. Sin más. Es un solo capítulo. No puedo desarrollar más porque entonces estaría escribiendo más que lo que escribió la autora XD

Niños que habitan en el fondo del mar (capítulos 4 y 5)⭐☆☆☆☆

Yo creía que cuando leí My Personal Weatherman 体感予報 había leído la cosa más espantosa posible. Me equivocaba.

Mirai Takano lleva sin ir a clases desde el 1er día, lo que alerta al tutor adjunto que lleva su clase y va a visitarle a ver qué pasa. Sí, iros alertando vosotros también. El pibe dice que no va a ir a clase hasta que su madre regrese a su casa, que "lleva un año muy liada pero va a volver", y el profesor le sigue visitando diariamente. Entre tanta cosa te cuentan que no vive con su padre porque abusó de él durante muchos años, y que por eso quiere tanto a su madre, que le salvó de ese calvario. La madre al fin llega y dice que no, que le abandona y que se busque la vida. ???. ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????. por la puta cara😭 Mirai, el pobre, por el shock se va a suicidar pero su profe justo aparece y le salva, diciendole que ahí hay muchos que le quieren, como él. Hasta este punto, vamos a dejar de lado un momento la clara diferencia de edad y de poder: ¿qué bonito, no? Já. JÁ.

De repente la autora se saca del culo un "eres tan bueno conmigo porque tú también quieres violarme". Y diréis "ah pero eso es por trauma, el profe no va a hacer nada". Cómo os cuento yo esto, chat.........................................................................

En resumidas cuentas, sí, aunque no había ningún antecedente que te lo indicara, el profe resulta ser un depravado sexual reprimido al que le han dado rienda suelta. Lo hace 💀

En su arrepentimiento, el profesor Morisaki deja que ahora Mirai le tenga como sumiso hasta en el propio instituto y Mirai no para de perseguirle para hacerle cosas 😭 y luego en una excursión escolar a Mirai le llama su madre de que se vaya a vivir con ella, ahora sí. ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????. y por algún motivo, Mirai le dice a su profe que ya no puede confiar en ella y que solo le tiene a él, entonces quedan ya de buenas y follan en un bosque. 😭

Probablemente la cosa peor redactada que he leído. Si pensáis que mi review está mal escrita y que no lo estáis entendiendo... no, es así de mala la historia. Se pueden escribir personajes cancelables para luego contar una moraleja, pero es que aquí no hay ni moraleja ni te cuentan por qué son así los personajes. Se saca todo de la inspiración que le vino haciendo la página anterior, estoy completamente segura.

Le doy una estrella porque el giro de acontecimientos me sorprendió, pero no puedo decir que el susodicho factor sorpresa me haya gustado 😭 entiendo que la autora lo que quería es escribir una historia ✨diferente✨ pero QUIETO PARAO a veces no tenemos que escribir lo primero que se nos viene a la mente ❤️ podemos hacer toxic yaoi de otra manera ❤️ estoy completamente segura de que se puede❤️

bueno en resumen la verdad no sé por qué han juntado todo esto en un mismo volumen si nada tiene que ver con nada 😭😭😭pero si encontráis esto en alguna biblioteca, los 2 primeros capítulos merecen mucho la pena! luego el resto ya, es otro cantar... 😭

What the actual f*ck!?!??

First need to do a better job at letting readers know that this is anthology and trigger warnings.

The cover and description are totally misleading. I was looking forward to a goofy love story that was a fun parody on typical BL and Shojo manga. And you get that for the first 2 stories. The first two stories; ya know about the characters this manga is titled after were so funny and had heart. (Hence the one star). The author should have worked better on developing the characters their relationship and really explored the idea on how one becomes more than a background character.

Instead they decided to go the creepy pervert route. There is a difference between dark romance and straight up abuse p*rn. Once the chapter with Eiji and Shiro are complete the whole manga goes to hell.

The first f*ck up story is about 2 half brothers who commit incest (it’s still incest if you are related). Why make the related just make the childhood friends. So that one was just icky.

But good god the last story was like something you see on law and order SUV if it was an anime and on the fake web. (I absolutely hate teacher/student in any kind of romance) but jfc. I can’t unsee this. My jaw dropped when after his student confesses that he was SA by his own father the teacher decided that was the perfect opportunity to unload his mommy issue and the r*pe his student. Then the cycle of ab*se continues as the student SA’s the teacher multiple times (again teacher is a POS) but SA is never ok. Then they somehow fall in love? Like wtf?

Those last two stories should have stayed in the authors minds, packed deep down. Or unpacked with a therapist.

Normally I resell or donate books and manga I didn’t really care for but this one went straight to my dumpster.

The first story was really funny. Self aware and silly. Then it got a little off putting, then it went full BAD TIMES.

Una comedia absurda y autoconsciente sobre dos estudiantes genéricos —Mobyama (seme) y Mobtani (uke)— hartos de ser NPCs mal dibujados que deciden escapar de su destino tras descubrir una revista BL. ¿La solución? Convertirse en protagonistas cueste lo que cueste 😤✨.

El manga se burla sin piedad de los clichés del BL: poses dramáticas, miradas intensas, escenas +18 que aparecen “porque sí” 🔥🙃, y una pareja principal ultra cliché (Ren x Akira) que existe solo para eclipsar a nuestros pobres mobs. Todo es exagerado, caótico y brillantemente ridículo.

Como bonus, entra en escena Erika, fujoshi nivel dios 👑📖, que pasa de prometida abandonada a mangaka BL famosa… hasta que se queda sin ideas y vuelve a exprimir a estas parejas porque todo puede convertirse en BL 😌✍️.

Conclusión: divertidísimo, rápido y consciente de su propia estupidez (en el mejor sentido). No viene a contar una gran historia de amor, viene a reírse del género y lo hace de maravilla. Si te gusta el BL y sabes reírte de él, este manga es un must 🤡💖.

Empezó gustándome mucho, la idea es buena y ojalá haya otros tomos que profundicen en ellos dos (lo dudo, teniendo en cuenta que su historia se solucionó rápido). Lo que sí, no contaba yo con que fueran a saltar tan pronto a las escenas subidas de tono (no contaba con que hubiera ese tipo de escenas at all), y tampoco contaba yo con leer este manga en el tren. No fue mi mejor momento, desde luego. Fue algo incómodo estar leyendo esto de chill y que de repente cada 3 páginas hubiera 5 dedicadas a peleas de sables, la verdad. Es que no me lo esperaba a secas, pero la situación en la que me encontraba lo hizo más incómodo todavía.
Tampoco sabía que iban a ser 4 historias distintas, y tbh me chafó un poco porque a mí me interesaba mucho lo de Fulano y Mengano, pero bueno, estuvo bien ig.
Odié bastante la historia del profesor y el alumno, y creo que es evidente por qué (troupe profesor-alumno (which I hate and can't support), violación, romanización de su relación...horrible), pero bueno en fin. ALSO, el incesto no fue mi rollo en aquella otra historia.
Me gustó que apareciesen todos en el cierre del tomo.
En definitiva, un poco decepción pero bien (ojalá de verdad hagan algo más de Fulano y Mengano 😔)

I don't believe in rating books less than five stars, algorithm overlords go to hell, so this book will go unrated. This title severely suffers from its contents being wildly miscommunicated on its cover. What starts as a goofy fun book falls quickly into some niche and dark pornography that deserves to be clearly communicated to its potential readers. Especially if this title is being sold shrink wrapped so you can't give it a quick skim before purchasing. I think the quality of the printing is cool, I'd love to see more dust jackets on translated manga, so I'm saddened this book suffers so much from its outside not matching its inside.

Honestly don’t know how to rate this given that it’s more like an anthology. 😅 I liked the titular story best; it was a lot of fun watching the story get meta and play around with tropes. The half-sibling incest story felt like it needed to be developed a bit more? And the darker story that rounded it out… I kind of wish it had stayed on track for a psychological horror Bad End than what ended up happening; that resolution didn’t really feel earned?

So overall I’m still glad I read it, cause I liked Eiji & Shiro so much, but I guess… reader beware of other stories with very different tones after that one? 😆😅

This is more of a 3.5 than a 4. The art's really good and the premises are interesting, if ranging from humor to very dark fantasy. The writing was pretty solid, too, if at times a bit silly. It's better than the bast BL anthology I read, with stories that, despite their brevity, better develop all the characters in the individual stories. I still don't really get the appeal of "fujoshi who pays overmuch attention to male peers" characters, so I really wasn't into that, but otherwise the stories were fine.

this was definitely an interesting read. I picked this book up based on vibes and wasn’t disappointed! I loved the first couple stories, they were sweet, fun, steamy, and at least a little romantic! The last three were taboo, which CAN be hot, but i was still a little uncomfortable. the art in this was really well done, the characters were relatively well developed. I was shocked that I was able to keep track of who was talking when only multiple speech bubbles were grouped in sequence.

Overall would recommend, imma need some more yaoi.

I'm giving this a 3 because it was enjoyable, although spoiler, the manga has 2 additional stories in it and 1 is the author's debut manga and that one is DARK.

Otherwise a really funny manga and I enjoyed the stories for the most part although they should be a trigger warning on the manga itself that its like dubcon/noncon for the 1 story. Every thing else was good and I do like the art style as well!

I was so excited for this story. But then when I picked it up, it ended up being a few short stories. Eiji and Shiro was quite hilarious. But the second story was about two half-brothers and it was kind of gross, and then the third story was about a teacher and a student that was truly disturbing. Don't pick up this book it's not worth it. I'm selling it right away!

I LOVED this collection of stories. The first couple, all related, were so funny, playing on tropes, and what a fucking delight it was. And then the next story is a sweet but taboo love story, and the last one is so fucked up and twisted. What a great collection. I loved that it showed what range Azuma has, as well as what range BL has.

The first two chapters featured a hilarious satire of the BL genre and I would've happily read several more like them but was instead surprised with two KILLER oneshots, including the dead dovey-est story I've read since Killing Stalking 😳 Kaya Azuma has the range, a gorgeous art style, and a great sense of pacing to boot, and will definitely be a mangaka on my radar moving forward!

Pues muy buena obra debut y yo, que no soy de historias cortas, he disfrutado de todas ellas. Se pueden agrupar en 3 historias, comenzando por la divertida, una algo más seria y la seria y chunga. Buen equilibrio. Azuma Kaya es única narrando, la verdad.
