Rate this book
True love is forever. After years of chasing his best friend, Chloe, Logan finally managed to win her heart—or so he thought. His world crashes down around him when she confesses to cheating on him with a local rock star, Drake. Unable to let her go completely from his life, Logan reassumes his role of best friend while he watches Chloe find her happily ever after with another man. Each day, he sinks further and further into his depression, and the kind, caring Logan he once was dies. When Jade, a member of Drake’s band, inserts herself into his life, Logan never expects to fall for her. He’s too broken, too damaged.

Jade ran away from home when she was seventeen, desperate to escape her abusive stepfather and her controlling boyfriend, Mikey. The only regret she has is that she left behind her little sister, Bethaney. When Jade’s band, Breaking the Hunger, hits it big, she vows to go back to her hometown not only to reconnect with her little sister, but also to show her stepfather that she’s not worthless like he said.

The moment Jade saw Logan, she knew she wanted him. Unfortunately, he was with Chloe at the time. After his world falls apart, Jade steps in to comfort him, determined to bring back the Logan she once knew.

Sometimes, you find true love with the person you never least expect. Can Logan and Jade heal each other? Or will they forever be changed by their toxic pasts?

Toxic: Logan's Story is not only the first book that I have read in the Torn series but it is also the first book that I have read from the author, K.A. Robinson. I was a little bit nervous when I started reading it because I wasn’t sure if I would have any trouble understanding the characters and their history because of the fact that I had not read Torn, Twisted, or Tainted prior to starting Toxic: Logan's Story (even though it is considered a stand-alone). I am happy to report that this fear was completely unwarranted as there are plenty of background details given to help the reader understand the storyline.

This book starts off with Logan getting his heart broken by Chloe, the love of his life. Having spent years chasing after her, Logan thought their love would last forever after they finally started dating. Unfortunately, his hopes and dreams of a future with Chloe are shattered when he finds out that she cheated on him with a local rockstar by the name of Drake. Unable to cut Chloe out of his life completely, Logan reverts back to being her best friend. The infidelity combined with Logan having to watch Chloe find love with another man really changes him as a person. On the outside he appears to be the same, sweet, great guy that he has always been but on the inside he angry, depressed, and so jaded when it comes to love that he refuses to give any other woman the chance to break his heart.

My heart hurt so much for Logan while reading this book. You see that he is such a kind, caring, and loyal person and he deserved so much more from a relationship than what Chloe had to offer. For most of the book, I just wanted to give him one of these:

I literally had an ache in my chest reading about his pain and despair after the break-up. I kept hoping that he would realize how toxic his relationship with Chloe was for him as a person and wanted him to stop focusing so much on her happiness and start focusing on his own.

Jade, a drummer in Drake’s band, sees right through Logan’s façade of happiness and inserts herself into his life as a friend to try and help him through this difficult time in his life. She knows what a great catch a guy like Logan is and she is determined to bring back the guy that he used to be.

I really loved Jade’s character! She definitely knows her share of pain and loss. Growing up with an abusive stepfather, Jade made the decision to run away at the age of 17, leaving her mother and sister behind. She worked her ass off to become a success in music and hopes to show her stepfather that she isn’t worthless like he made her believe. I really respected her tenacity, honesty, and the fact that she stays true to herself and refuses to take shit from anyone.

Toxic: Logan's Story is an emotional and heartfelt journey about finding love and redemption in the aftermath of devastating heartbreak.

"I thought what I had with her was it for me, but I'm starting to realize that it was nothing compared to what I could have."

5 Toxic Stars!
ARC provided for an honest review

I am beyond happy to say that I absolutely adored reading Logan’s story! I have to admit that Logan was not a favorite character of mine in the Torn series, Drake and Chloe’s story, and that there times in those books where I just thought he was pitiful and just couldn’t get over things. I also thought he was a pushover. And those characteristics do not make an attractive guy.

But here in Toxic, it really is Logan’s story. We get a sneak peek of how he was feeling and what he was thinking during the times when he and Chloe were just friends and when Chloe broke his heart. KA Robinson made me understand Logan much better and I’ve slowly grown a strong admiration and fondness for him.

Logan is a sensitive, loving, and thoughtful guy. Not just as a friend but as a lover. When he loves, he loves with all his heart, he puts everything out there for the love of his and that is something we don’t always read about. Sure, there are those alpha, hot males that we all swoon and drool over, but Logan feels like someone we know in our personal life. He is a realistic character. He got hurt and he’s insecure and I feel for him because KA didn’t hold back in writing his story. We get the whole details and feel all of Logan’s, and even Jade’s, emotions.

Jade is such a brave, independent character. She stood by Logan when he needed a friend, she understood him and didn’t judge him when he was all but wallowing in heartbreak and self-pity. I like that although she is attracted to Logan, she didn’t take any bullshit from him, she refused to be a rebound but still showed her gentle and caring side when she remained friends with Logan.

Their relationship is a heartwarming journey of two people carrying past hurts who formed a friendship and found strength, love, and support from each other. It’s a truthful telling of a friends-to-lovers romance. It’s a touching read and I’m happy that I got to join Logan and Jade in their wonderful story.

Stars: 5 stars!
Recommended to: Rockstar second chance readers.
POV: First person. Dual POV.
Series: Yes. But standalone.
Cliffhanger: No.
EXTRA COMMENT: I’m greedy, I want a longer Epilogue. Toxic has a good one and we still get to see Drake and Chloe too!

As much as I wanted to read the first books in the series, I just couldn’t find the time. So I had to read Logan’s story without the complete backstory. It does give you an overview of what has happened, but it would be beneficial to read the others in order to really get into the full story line.

The story begins with Logan getting shattered to pieces by his girlfriend, Chloe. This girl has been his everything since he first laid eyes on her in high school. He was convinced she was the girl of his dreams, but unfortunately that wasn’t in the cards for them. She’s been taken over by the chemistry she has with the rock star, Drake. The only good thing that has been linked to Drake’s band is the drummer, Jade.

Jade gives him solace in his time of need. The desperation is constantly trying to take over him in the first half of this book, but she’s there to balance him out. Even without reading the prior books, I got just what Logan was feeling. Since this book is in his POV, all of his thoughts and pain were out in the open. My own heart broke for the guy and I wanted him to find the strength to move on. He deserved so much better than Chloe and the better option is constantly dangling in front of him. Another thing that was being shoved in his face was Chloe and Drake's relationship. Those moments were the most heartbreaking.
“This was only the beginning of their new life, but it was the end of mine.”

Jade acts as nothing but a friend, and while there’s a hint of something more, the right time never reveals itself. Her priority is to get back him back to the smiling, happy-go-luck guy she first met. It’s certainly a tough feat, because Logan is encased in depression and destructive behavior.
“I didn’t want to be the girl you passed your time with while you waited for her. I wanted to be the girl you thought about all the time, the one you couldn’t wait to see. So, I did what I do best. I ran from you.”

Jade was my favorite character in this book. She’s strong, resilient and independent. She’s had a rough past that has led her to where she is now. She knows just how to handle pain and loss well and that’s part of the reason that she’s good for Logan.

Toxic was an emotional whirlwind. There was pain, romance, redemption and hope. When all seemed lost for our dear Logan, he was able to rise up from the heartbreak and find true love.

This was the first book by K.A. Robinson that I’ve read and I quite enjoyed it. I was happy to see I could read this book as a standalone or as part of the Torn series, where it is book number four. This was a quick enjoyable read for me. Since I am new to this series I wasn’t sure if I would be able to enjoy this novel without reading the prior three, but I had no issues connecting with the characters immediately.
Any book involving a rock band grabs my attention so I was happy that this book was based around a newly successful band. The lead character Logan was put through the ringer with his ex, Chloe. I can certainly appreciate a male character that wore his heart on his sleeve then got fucked over by his girl. Of course another leading lady came in to the rescue, Jade. Her name is way better anyway, so I already liked Jade before I even knew much about her.
Over a few months Jade and Logan travel, dive into their brutal pasts, and come out ahead. Growing up in those fragile college years is always difficult no matter what your past was like. Jade and Logan go through ups and downs, from romance to hate all emotions are explored. This romance was enjoyable to read more about for sure, although I could’ve used some more naughty sex scenes to keep me on my toes.
I’d suggest this for a light summer romance novel to make you smile. A happy ending is always good with me, especially when it ends years down the road and we really see how life turns out. Crazy how much we can change and the world around us in a quick five years.

Logan is struggling with tremendous heartache. After finding out that Chloe his girlfriend and also best friend has cheated on him. He refuses to put himself in the position to ever be hurt again. Jade is struggling with her own personal demons. She has built a wall around her heart so she won't get hurt. Jade has a hard time watching Logan's self-destructive behavior. She offers her friendship, in hopes that she help pull Logan into the light. While their friendship blossoms they can't deny the connection they feel for one and other. Will Logan be able to let go of his past and start anew? Can Jade open herself up for a chance at a HEA?

All my life, I'd tried to help people, and I'd been a good guy. And for what? So, I could watch the love of my life walk away from me.

We met these characters in Torn and saw their stories continue through Twisted and Tainted. But now we get to see some of the heartbreaking events with Logan, Chloe and Drake through Logan's eyes. How Chloe, the girl he had loved for years, hurt and betrayed him with Drake.

The one person I'd thought would never hurt me was the one who had ripped my heart to pieces.

After dealing with Chloe and Drake, Logan was depressed, angry, and in need of a friend. And surprisingly, his new friend came in the form of the drummer from Drake's band, Jade. She is there for him even when he never expected it, and they begin to share their secrets, past, and pain.

Logan really struggles after the loss of Chloe. He is lost. He numbs his pain with women, alcohol, and puts up armor. He does not want to let people see how damaged and hurt he really is. He has to let go of anger, rejection, regret and guilt before he has a chance of moving on. And that is not an easy task when he is constantly reminded of what he lost. This was his story of love, loss, pain, healing and renewal. His personality shifts over time and we see many sides to Logan: sad, destroyed, angry, sexy, confused, happy, and sweet. And he has major trust issues and fear of being broken again.

"I'm an asshole. I'm not the same guy you met when I was with Chloe. I'm bitter and angry and f***king self-destructive."

Jade was kind of quietly in the background as a friend and confidante. Their relationship developed over time and had some near misses, hurt feelings, and separations. Their communication issues, denial, and confusion kept them from pursuing anything for quite a while. She was sassy, caring, tough, but also insecure. Her past forced her to put up barriers and fight for what she really wanted, but also did a number on her self esteem. She never really had a safe haven. She has some demons from her past that she needs to face to move on with her life.

But when they finally get to a place of spending time together, they are sweet, fun, playful, and passionate. I loved their interactions and natural flow of their burgeoning relationship. It was passionate, but not volatile and unhealthy. They fell into an easy rhythm that was refreshing.

Sometimes fate steps in though. Sometimes we're meant to have our happily ever after even it it's not with who we expected. Sometimes the most toxic events and emotions lead us to where we belong.

But they both still have issues that affect them. And of course, there is drama and angst that finds its way into their happy bubble. And with two people that have been damaged in their past, it is hard to trust in themselves and the other one.

Can they both go of their insecurities, fears, and pasts to move on? And with their lives being so different, do they really have a chance to move on together at all?

We get to spend more time with Chloe, Drake, Adam, Eric and see how their band Breaking the Hunger is doing. Their friend Amber is also still part of their story. We also meet Jade's younger sister, Bethaney. This group has been through a lot personally and together. Despite their issues, they are a tight group that tries to support each other. This one was told in Logan and Jade's points of view but it did not alternate--instead it was in three parts with Logan starting and ending and Jade in the middle. This installment was heartbreaking, funny, healing, and happy. I enjoyed seeing some parts of the story I knew from Logan's perspective as well as more of Logan's journey towards finding himself and a new future. I am looking forward to more stories in this series. We need more with Adam and Amber, Eric, and maybe even Bethaney.

TOXIC = Logan's story!! YAY!

According to the author Toxic can be read as a standalone. I must admit that I was hesitant about this claim because I have not read any other book in the Torn series, but I thought I would give Toxic a chance. The claim that this novel can be read as a standalone is correct. I did not feel that I missed any part of the story by just reading this novel. However if you want the full story of what happened from then to now then it is best to start from the beginning of course, but please note that it is not necessary!

Okay, so here are my initial thoughts about Toxic.

*My heart hurt for Logan.

*I was rooting for him the whole story.

*There were times where I hated Chloe because she was the cause to the way he turned out to be.

*Logan has a very big heart, but since his kindness was taken advantage of, he turned bitter and womanizing for a period of time.

*Logan is thoughtful, insecure, paranoid, and HOT as hell.

*I loved that Logan did not initially succumb to his feelings and decided to get his life in order.

About the Story:

I need to say this again: Oh Logan! I just want to give him a hug and tell him that everything happens for a reason! Honestly, this novel depicts just that.

After years of Logan crushing hard on his best friend Chloe, he finally managed to start a real relationship with her. Things are going great...well at the time Logan at least thought so. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. Chloe confessed to Logan that she was not faithful throughout their relationship. She in fact cheat him on with a local rock star, Drake. This part of the story portrays that there was a love triangle that occurred in the previous novels. Logan sets out to find Drake and smash his face in. He does just that, but Drake confesses that he is in love with Chloe and she in fact shares the same feelings. Logan at this point is heart broken, but makes an agreement with Drake that whoever Chloe chooses then the other will respect that decision and back off. At first Chloe says that she cannot be with anyone. Logan decides to back off and put some space between him and Chloe. After a while he learns that Chloe is not taking the separation very well so he decides to make amends. This is the part of the story where I hate Chloe because shortly after Logan patches things up with Chloe she decides to give Drake a shot! GRR!

At this point in time Logan puts up a good front and struggles to hide how he really feels about Chloe and Drake being together, bit Logan isn't fooling everyone!

At this part of the story Jade steps in and calls Logan's bluff. Note: Jade is the drummer in Drake's band. At first Jade's intentions were just to be there for Logan to console him through these times. However as time goes on it is evident that Logan and Jade share a mutual attraction. Jade at the time is Logan's person. He needs all the support he can get since he resumed the role of Chloe's best friend, but it is killing him inside to root for the opposing team when all he wanted was to share his life with Chloe forever. At this point Logan is damaged and begins his womanizing phase. However what Logan and Jade both need to consider is that sometimes what you need is staring you right in the face.

So, if you are curious to learn how Logan has coped with all this and what exactly becomes of him and Jade then read TOXIC! It is definitely worth the read. I loved this novel.

Toxic: Logan's Story is Book Four of the Torn Series, but it can be read as a standalone. We all met Logan as Chloe's best friend in Torn. He was in love with her forever and he finally got her. But then Drake came in the picture and Logan was left heartbroken. Toxic gives us Logan's POV through his and Chloe's break up and shows us just how crushed he was.

"The one person I'd thought would never hurt me was the one who had ripped my heart to pieces."

I can't imagine what Logan went though losing his best friend/girlfriend to a guy he despises, and I knew there was more behind him than what we got in the first three books. Logan was pissed at the world, depressed, and did i mention pissed? Logan resorted to drinking and sleeping around to deal with the hurt and pain of losing Chloe, and it hurt my heart to see the Logan that I loved so much transform into this person. I was really surprised to see the extent of his hurt, and how he continued hurting long after he claimed to be fine.

"I'm an asshole. I'm not the same guy you met when I was with Chloe. I'm bitter and angry and f***king self-destructive."

Jade, Drake's band mate came along when Logan least expected it. She was there for him, no pressure to talk or do anything, she was just there. She's harbored feelings for Logan for a long time, and even she was surprised at how deep the hurt ran through Logan. Jade was so good for him. I loved learning about her and watching their relationship as friends develop, despite Logan's conflicting feelings. Jade confided in Logan about her past while Logan was able to open up and talk about Chloe.

After a few screw ups between the two of them, Logan and Jade set out for a summer on the road to confront Jade's past. This is where their relationship really picks up. Logan starts to let his guard down and they share some intimate moments. The time they spent together was sweet and we got to see the old Logan that I loved so much.

"Look, I'm not good with words or relationships. I thought I was, but I'm not. I'm not saying that I want us to suddenly jump into something serious, but I've waited almost a year for you to come back to me. The things from before still get to me from time to time, but I want this somewhere with you. Is that what you want? Or am I making a fool of myself?"

I started at him in shock. He wanted an us? "I don't know what to say. No, that's a lie. I totally know what to say. I've wanted to be with you from the moment I saw you."

Situations arise on this trip that will put them through the ultimate test. With both of them having insecurities can them make a relationship work or will it be TOXIC? Can they both move on and let go of the past or is this relationship doomed before it even starts?

I really loved reading Logan's story. KA Robinson did an amazing job of making the reader feel the emotions of the characters. This story is heartbreaking for both Logan and Jade, but it also makes you want to believe in fate...that everything happens for a reason. Im really hoping that Mrs. Robinson will continue the series, perhaps with Amber's story next. ;)

"Sometimes, fate steps in though. Sometimes, we're meant to have our happily ever after even if it's not with who we expected. Sometimes the most toxic events and emotions can lead us to where we belong."

If you read the first three books in the Torn series by K.A. Robinson and didn't feel for Logan there is definitely something wrong with you. After suffering from unrequited love for his best friend for years, Logan finally gets his chance with Chloe only to find out that she has cheated on him not once but twice. This guy definitely deserves a happy ending. Toxic is a story all his own in which he finally has the opportunity to find closure, happiness, love and most importantly trust.

Poor Logan has a lot of baggage especially since the events that transpired in Torn, Twisted and Tainted and we soon find that he deals with these issues in completely uncharacteristic and unexpected ways. There is so much more to Logan than what we have previously seen which made Toxic somewhat surprising and extremely interesting.

It takes a tough persistent woman to be able to knock down Logan's walls, but if anyone could do it, it would be Jade. Jade has plenty of baggage of her own but her courage, strength, loyalty and perseverance are admirable and the support and the love that these two could only find with each other was truly heartwarming. Oh, and of course, I loved the female rock star twist.

The progression of the story was wonderful. The beginning dated back to high school when Logan first met Amber and Chloe and hit a couple of key events in Logan and Chloe's relationship along the way. It was very easy to overlook Logan's pain in the first books as Chloe and Drake's story was just so irresistible, but experiencing the heartbreak along with Logan instilled a whole new level of sympathy and respect for him. Toward the end, Logan finally starts to heal and find closure in all aspects of his life, not just romantically, and comes to terms with issues we were not even aware of before Toxic. I definitely would have liked to have been privy to a certain seven years, but I think K.A. Robinson mostly likes to torture her readers with some significant fast-forwarding and really the missing span of time isn't actually NEEDED for the story I just really WANTED it.

If you loved Drake and Chloe as much as I did there is just enough of the two of them in this story to remind us of what we loved so much about the first three books but still keep the focus on Logan, although I really don't think there could ever be too much Drake. Though I'm sure Logan would really hate me right now for saying that.

Toxic was exactly what I was hoping for after reading the first books. Not only do we learn more about Logan than anticipated, it made me so happy to see him finally get his turn and to hear his side of things. Logan's story is pretty heartbreaking and sometimes frustrating, but above all it is sweet and touching and went a long way towards the healing and emotional growth of both of these characters. This book has definitely also peaked my curiosity about several more of the characters within this group, especially Eric. If he happens to end up with a certain someone who already seems to be quite smitten with him, you certainly would not hear me complaining. I hope to see much more to come from this series.

In Book 1of the Torn Series, Torn, readers watched Logan fall apart when Chloe chose Drake over him, and now in Book 4, Toxic, we get to hear what happened from his point of view and see what really went on behind the front that Logan put on to prove to his friends that he was okay.

Bitter. Angry. Self-Destructive. This is how Logan felt after Chloe broke his heart, not only by cheating on him with Drake, but then choosing Drake to spend her life with. Chloe’s betrayal destroyed Logan and left him depressed, drunk, and promiscuous. He pushed everyone away and wallowed in his heartache. Every time he claimed that he was fine and could handle seeing Drake and Chloe together, he would fall apart again. It seemed like there was nothing anyone could do or say to pull Logan back from the ledge, but through it all, one person stayed by his side no matter if Logan wanted her there or not and that was Jade.

Jade is such a loving and giving heroine despite the hell she went through during her childhood. She has every right to be bitter and closed off after pretty much being forced to leave her home at such a young age, but she’s not. She’s compassionate and empathetic; she cares a great deal for Logan and wants to be his friend; yes, she has feelings for him and would love to have a relationship with him, but even if that doesn’t happen for them, she’s still going to see him through this difficult time and help him in any way that she can.

The title is significant to both Logan and Jade. Due to Chloe’s actions, Logan chose to go down a path of destruction that completely changed who he was, and this transformation turned him into someone who used girls and wallowed in his hatred for the girl who broke his heart. Did he have every right to feel hurt by everything that happened? Absolutely, but the choices he made prolonged his suffering and closed him off to having a healthy relationship with someone else – someone like Jane. Jane’s childhood was a completely toxic situation that she chose to get out of, and while it still affects her in some ways, she fought against the abuse and neglect and chose to live life her way without regrets and without thinking about how others might see her. She’s definitely someone Logan can learn from in terms of how to deal with difficult situations, and thankfully, he does begin to see what Jade is offering him once he begins to get his head on straight.

Even though there are a few bumps in the road to redemption for both Logan and Jade, they do finally get there together, and the payoff is definitely sweet!

Toxic is a great story that teaches readers to fight for second chances and perhaps even to take a step back and see that everything happens for a reason. I don’t think Chloe was meant to be with Logan, and now that Logan has some distance from the situation, I think he’d agree. Fate’s a fickle fellow but he just might know what he’s doing;)

Ok, so I have to confess --- Toxic is the first KA Robinson book Ive read *hangs head in shame*

I stayed away from this series because Iam generally very anti love triangle-- I hate them. But, after reading Toxic, I must say that I am going to have to go back and read the first 3 books in the series.

Ok, so moving on-- I had not read the first 3 books, and I must also confess that I didn't realize I had signed up for the review part of this blog tour. So, when I realized I had, I dove in. I was afraid I ws going to be confused as to what was going on, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Not only could I keep up, but had I not known there were other books that Toxic was based off of, I never would of even guessed it.

Toxic is Logan's story seen through his eyes. And I tell you, my heart just broke for him. I wanted to be the one to cuddle up to him and make it all better. And I wanted to punch Chloe a time or two. Talk about leading the poor man on!!! And Logan was such a sweet soul, with the biggest heart. And I loved the way he gave himself over 100% to the people he cared about. And although he wore his heart on his sleeve, he was not a pansy. He was still strong with alpha tendencies, and a plan for life. He had to learn the hard way that life does not always work out as planned, but I love the way he just kept going and did what he had to do in order to come out on top.

Jade, loved her!! She is seriously one of my favorite leading ladies ever. Strong, independent and snarky. As a drummer for a rock band, she had to hold her own with the boys, and she gave as good as she got. She was not about to be ran on top of, and since she had to prove she could survive in the boys world, I found it awesome that she did not become bitter or hardened. She could hold her own but yet she was still a lady. She is the kind of person I would want to hang out with. She was loyal, and she had your back. But it was her forgiving nature with Logan (and the band) that made me really love her. Her ability to recognize that people are not perfect, that as humans we make mistakes, our minds are affected by the lives we have lived, and when emotions are high, we can let them take over and do and say things we instantly regret. She had this ability to see past the hate that people use as a defense when they are angry, scared and hurt, and honestly I think everyone could learn from her.

Toxic is about second chances. Its about fate. And how we may have a plan for our lives, but we can't see the end. How everything happens for a reason, even if we dont understand the reason or like it. It's about discovering yourself, your potential and how to rise above all the crap that you have had to live through. That being a survivor means victory, but being a victim means being a slave to the past.

I love how Logan and Jade heal each other. A relationship born out of dire circumstances that bloomed into a lifetime of love, commitment, and loyalty. And I loved it!!!

I loved Logan all along , he may have been a bit possessive and insecure in the Torn series but who can blame him. I always wanted Chloe with Drake but that did not mean I ever wanted her to hurt Logan as she did. I thought he was hurt in Torn but crap it was really so much worse for him.

Reading about Logan meeting Chloe was so cute !! I loved getting bits and pieces of their friendship from the early days. Poor Logan spent years hiding his love for Chloe thinking he was being a better friend , then when he finally gives in and admits his feelings Chloe rips him to shreds. Chloe loves Logan but just not the right kind of love , she tried but you could tell it was a struggle for her. Reading about this from Logan's POV was heartbreaking , he was crushed and Chloe really ruined him for quite some time. I was shocked to realize how wounded he was and for how long he harbored these crushing feelings in the midst of Chloe and Drake's growing love. Logan got a little wild and became someone he was not proud of , he had always been the good guy , honest ,caring and the best friend to anyone. I hated seeing this broken side of him.

Logan and Jade develop a special friendship in the midst of chaos but Logan makes quite a few mistakes with her , it takes time but finally Jade and Logan give it a try and they have the best summer ever. I loved learning more about Jade , I always enjoyed her character and although she had some heartbreak to fight through it was great reading about her healing and Logan's part in that. Of course after a total misunderstanding Logan takes off thinking the worst of Jade and ends up at home talking to his mom for the first time in awhile. This was also a great turn of events for him , he was able to learn some real truths about his childhood and it helped the healing process for he and his mom. Again another piece of Logan to help us understand him more.

Once again we have some inner turmoil going on for Logan and after Chloe and Drake break him down he finally faces his issues. I was so pleased with this HEA. It is a great read , lots of heartache and some super HOT sex !! Jade is refreshing , a beautiful girl drummer with a wild band but yet she has the innocence of a child , but of course is very adventurous. This is a story of healing , moving on and also growing love. If only we could fill in the 7 years before that epilogue !!

I received this ARC from the author for an honest review...

I wasn't sure when reading this book if I would have to read the other books in this series. I was shocked because I didn't have to. Usually books explain a story starting with the first book and then on with the rest, but this book had a story all to itself. I probably would of known the characters better if I would have read the rest of this series, but I did alright on my own. I loved Logan!!! He was my favorite by far. He just an so much raw emotion to his character, it had me chomping at the bit.. so to speak..lol..

Any book that involves a bad boy character gets my attention easily, so when I heard that this book was about rock stars and bad boys, I totally got on top of this tour. Going back to Logan for a sec... Chloe his ex girlfriend is putting him through so much shit, its just non sense. I hate how she treats him like trash. He deserves so much better from someone who loves him. I kept wanting to punch her in the face plenty of times through out this book.. ha-ha.. At some points, I was surprised that Logan didn't, but then again he didn't have to because he had another girl fawning over him in a quick second after his break up with Chloe. Her name is Jade. Jade is the kind of girl who wants a guy like Logan even with all his flaws and ex-girlfriend in the picture.

They both talk about everything and anything and eventually they can talk about their pasts together and get through hell and back if they wanted to. They drove all over creation together. Of course, they have there ups and downs, but then again who doesn't? Every real relationship is supposed to because it is just healthy. Gosh if I didn't argue with my husband then what would the world be like.. ha-ha.. It is just a natural order of things.

Anyways, this book only had one flaw to me, and that would have to be that the sex scenes were AMAZING.. but I just wanted some MORE!! I know I'm a horn dog right? no not at all.. I just like it for some reason. This book would be a great read if you are looking something light and something FULL of romance. I rated this book 4 stars because, I liked it...I just wanted some more SEX...lol... Other then that, this story is all around perfect...It has a great plot and background with all the characters.

I was so excited to be able to be on the Blog Tour for Toxic for Logan and Jade's story.

Logan was always my favorite character and I couldn't never get over how Chloe cheated on him in Torn. It broke my heart and so I always wanted Logan to get his HEA ever since.

"This was only the beginning of their new life, but it was the end of mine." ~Logan

I seen how the name of the book fit the story because our kind hearted and sweet loving Logan's attitude became a little Toxic in this book. He had enough and what had happened between him and Chloe just about broken him, until Jade came along and became a close friend.

Logan and Jade go on a road trip back to where she was from and to confront her mother, stepdad, and to find her sister. When they arrive, little did she know that what she would find would be the unexpected and change her life. Jade is left broken hearted from a major misunderstanding.

Will Logan and Jade's new found relationship become Toxic or will Logan be able to put his past behind him and truly let love in?

"Sometimes, fate steps in though. Sometimes, we're meant to have our happily ever after even if it's not with who we expected. Sometimes the most toxic events and emotions can lead us to where we belong."

I so hope that there will be more to the series. I was hoping a book for Bethaney & Eric and also for Amber & Adam.

Eversince I read the Torn series, I've always wanted a happy ending for Logan, and I'm glad he got paired up with Jade.

I love Drake and Chloe. Their happily-ever -after wasn't easy to achieve. Some may say their love was selfish because they hurt Logan along the way. But I believe that's the appeal of Drake& Chloe's story - everything starts and ends with each other. They have an all-consuming love.

Logan & Jade on the otherhand, are selfless. Jade was a rock for Drake through his struggles and pain. She's such a good and supportive friend. Logan graciously accepted being Chloe's friend when she made her choice to be with Drake.

In Toxic, it shows us Logan's POV on some of the key points in the triangle with Drake and Chloe, and how he silently hurt and suffered afterwards. He spent years looking after Chloe, being her best friend and silently loving her. My heart bleeds for this man. I think I relate best with one of Jade's inner monologue - she loves Drake and Chloe so much and she knows in her heart that they belong together, but a small part of her hates them because their love for each other broke Logan.

Jade is a kick-ass character! I love her tenacity - she can be strong and hardcore when her bandmates are making crappy decisions, yet she can offer a quiet and sensitive support when needed as well. She had a ba ggage because. of her past, but she didn't let it hold her back. She used it to fuel her drive to make something of herself. She was there to help Logan heal from his pain, and to give him space when he needed it... but she was always there.

Yes, there is a happily-ever-after for these two.. but how they reached that point is the beauty of this story.

I hope Eric gets his own book too! He's an enigma I want to unveil.

WOW!! K.A. Robinson did it again; she crafted an incredible, fast paced novel that keeps you hanging on to each page. Also, you need to be prepared to go on a roller coaster ride that will leave you breathless and emotionally wrung out. This book had me hooked from the first paragraph and held me captivated till the end. It had me frustrated, laughing, crying, frustrated again, and happily teary eyed.
Logan had his heart broken by Chloe. He is hurt and broken, but doesn’t want to lose her completely, so they stay best friends. While he is pretending to move on, heal, and wearing this happy front for everyone to see; the one person he didn’t expect to help him and become a confidant moves into the picture, Jade. Logan and Jade’s relationship develops gradually from friend to lovers and more. You get to see all the angst and drama that comes along with two people who have a past with baggage.
We get to see if the two of them can overcome their past, insecurities, and fears to move toward working on a future together.
K.A. Robinson has written another amazing story. The way she writes about her characters makes one feel all the emotions along with them. As a reader, you experience the heartbreak, the loss, the love, lust, friendship, family, and all the other emotions in between as each character lives them. This story was an amazing read that took me along for the journey. It captivated me and had me guessing with all the twist till the end. I cannot wait to see what K.A. Robinson creates next for us to read.

☆☆☆☆½

**ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.**

I’m going to be completely honest; I was not looking forward to reading Logan’s book at all. It has nothing to do with Kelly’s writing and everything to do with the fact that I did not like Logan’s character in the previous books. Because Kelly is one of my go-to authors and she has never disappointed me, I sucked it up and read this book. I was blatantly surprised when I couldn’t put my iPad down and ended up falling in love with Logan.

This time around we get to read Logan and Jade’s story. We get to see what Logan was thinking throughout the previous books and past the events that occurred. Because of this, I feel like I understand Logan a whole lot more. Being able to see everything from his point of view was refreshing and opened my eyes to the character that Logan really is. This book was so close to being my favourite one in the entire series.

I was curious as to how the title of the book would work with the story, though I can now see it all so clearly after reading about the relationship between Logan and Jade. There’s a complexity to their relationship that could potentially destroy or save each other. You get to see everything from the point where Chloe comes clean about her infidelity to the possible HEA that I now know Logan deserves – I don’t want to give the ending away! ;)

I can only hope that this is not the end for the Torn series. Kelly has opened up some doors for the other friends in this book and I need to know more. Pretty please give us books for Amber & Adam and Eric! :)

I love this series and I think quite possibly this instalment is my favourite!!!
Throughout the series Logan has been the best friend that had his heart torn apart by the one he loved since forever but would never have. Well in Toxic, it's Logan's turn to heal and mend.
I can't pinpoint what it is about K.A. Robinson's story telling that draws me in. Sometimes I think it's the innocence of the story but don't mistake that for naivety. There is a simplicity to her stories that make them sincere and real. Logan's story really shows this. He isn't your typical book hottie yet he is absolutely beautiful. He isn't a tatted up alpha male but his character demands attention. Logan isn't a pushover either, yet he is sensitive and vulnerable.
I enjoyed the fact that Robinson made this story all about Logan and Jade's story without relying on having Chloe and Drake carry the storyline.
Being a rock story, you would think it would fall into the trap of insta-love and gratuitous sex. K.A. Robinson doesn't use either-- but the sex scenes are still hot ;) The timeline of the story is natural and flows easily. You can see the relationships between characters build and strengthen.
There is a sweetness to K.A. Robinson's Toxic without compromising the edginess and the sexiness of it.
Logan and jade's journey toward love and forever was real, raw, edgy and sweet.
Love this series!!! it's a definite one-click.

Kelly has done it again! I loved it!!!!

Bravo I didn't think I would love this series more that I already did, but boy was I wrong. She managed to make me fall in love with Logan all over again. Not to say I didn't already love him but you know how Drake can steal the attention away. Okay, okay on to Logan(schmexy man)

This was the story that we were all waiting for. Logan and Jade. I mean we had an inkling that it would happen from the previous books (don't worry if you did read them you will be caught up with this one) but I never in my wildest imagined the journey it would take for Logan and Jade to finally become what I hope they would be.

I could feel the utter heart break that Logan had been suffering watching his best friend, Chloe find the love that he thought was to be with him. That is something that is hard to overcome. Thankfully he had Jade to help him through the ruff patches, that is until they found that they were the cure for each others hearts.

Beautiful and honest. Raw and Sexy. Heartfelt and filled with Angst this is the Epic story of Logan's life. Why Epic? Well, because when you find the love of your life, I mean the real love of your life it is EPIC.

Thank you to Kelly for giving us this beautifully written story of Logan and Jade.

Since this is my first K.A. Robinson book I went in very excited because there is ton’s of buzz about her work and I have 3 of them on my Goodreads TBR list. Besides, the premise grabbed my attention immediately ( hero dealing with heart break) and my curiosity piqued on how this story would unfold.

Logan,Logan,Logan…this poor guy finally gets the girl he’s been in love with for four years to only have it demolished month’s later. When it all comes to light I had a hard time connecting to him because he was willing to forgive Chloe of her mistakes and still be her friend and I’m just unfamiliar with that in my male leads but, isn’t this the exact reason I was drawn to this book? See, Logan is so in love with the girl that he’s as realistic of a character as you can get and a man every woman would want, that’s when I opened my mind and devoured this book.

Toxic: Logan’s Story was written brilliantly as the reader will go thru the heartbreak but come out healed. Jade is the perfect woman for Logan and once he opens his eyes and comes to this realization…what a ride! One thing I will take away from this story is – You have to go thru some bumps in the road to end your journey with a smooth ride!

It was nice to finally get Logan's POV and know his feelings for real and not the act he put up throughout the other books. He was just one of those types of guys you knew he had more going on then meets the eye! How he actually deals with everything between him and Chloe, I actually didn't expect any less and I definitely wasn't surprised! I actually expected worse than what he did. But all in all he just had to and needed to deal/face his demons and his trust issues.

Jade I really, really wanted to like her but in the end I just didn't like her that much. She was the perfect girl for Logan but I just didn't like her. I can't really explain why I didn't like her I just didn't! You know how when you meet someone and they don't really do anything to make you dislike them but you just don't like them? Yeah that's how I was with Jade!

Overall it was a great continuation of this series. I really hope that Amber's story is next! She was spiraling out of control a lot more than it appears in the other books! It makes me truly wonder what all went down between her and Adam and if they'll be together or not! :-)

Till next time - Sweets Books

"Received and ARC for an honest review"

I’ve been waiting for this POV for a while, I always wanted to know Logan and what I found was amazing, not only his troubled mind that affected me, as a broken and damaged guy I always wanted something more for him after Chloe.

Getting to know about Logan and Chloe in the beginning was a great read, their friendship and how he hide his love for her, then we know how Chloe gets with Drake, we now understand that their love wasn’t the right one. Now we get Jade an amazing beautiful girl drummer with an innocence, we find that Logan needs to get to find himself, even get with his mother to do so, that part really transformed Logan and helped me to understand him way better.

KA Robinson did an outstanding writing in this book, and got me to put Logan and Jade in a special place in my heart.

You truly don’t need to read the rest of the series to love this book, but is always better to get to know the beautiful world the author created for this characters to live in. I just need like 7 years before the epilogue and be quite happy with this one.

Oh I loved Logan and my heart hurt for him from the very first book. Seeing all the back ground stuff, learning how truly effected he was my gosh I cried. Logan is the sweet guy every girl wants, but yet never want to stay with him. You never would have known everything with him and Jade or Amber or any other girl for that matter. Logan was broken and damaged but yet he tried to put on a semi happy face. Jade on the other hand was always guarded and safe. She had such a hard time while growing up!!! She was afriad, of what was going to happen if she let anyone in. When she starts to see Logan for what he is things might turn around for her. She has made a decision that after her band has finished the first round if their tour she is going confront her past. But as we all know things aren't always what they seem. And things don't work out the way you want them too. But that doesn't mean it isn't the right thing. KA does another amazing job with this one. I'm so thankful she kept the series going with Logan's side if everything!!! ,

OMG! What a twists! I LOVE IT! I was okay with Drake&Chloe before this book but now I'm now really sure.Let's stop before I explain why. Okay I love Jade. She's not your average girl and that is the way I like it and I think she suits Logan more than Chloe.Now Let's continue;

I was really sad for Logan because he was dumped by Chloe for Drake...that's really sad for sure. You know when you read a book about rockstar's you kind of expect things and Torn&Twisted&Tainted have this. But Toxic has a unique story. there was cheating!

There was Anger! There was sadness! There was LOGAN. Also there was healing and there was finding true love...

The one person I'd thought would never hurt me was the one who had ripped my heart to pieces.

God! I don't wanna feeling! But I'm feeling! Damn it!

I'm not gonna say anything about Jade's Pov but I liked when started.

It was really heart broken to reading Logan's Pov. But when started to change direction of his mind to Only Jade... I F*CKING LOVE IT!

To be honest I have been waiting for this story for a long time, I needed to be inside of Logan's head so that I could understand his pain and how he coped with the betrayal of Chloe and Drake.

Logan had a lot to be bitter about and because of the way he let that bitterness eat him alive he hurt not only himself but sometimes others around him.... But there is one girl that still cares about him regardless of his stupid mistakes... Jade.

Jade has her own set of demons to face before either she or Logan can even start living in the now and begin relationships with other people, can they do it or will one of them screw it up?

I want to spoil so badly but I promise I won't but I will tell you that this book will give you all the answers you have needed throughout this series. For me it opened my eyes and made me love these characters more. Again Author K.A. Robinson delivers another great story that you can really get into! This book gets all 5 Stars!!

Thank you Kelly for finally giving me some closure!!

K.A. made me so happy with this novel.

It seems like I waited forever for Logan´s story‚ and now it is finally here and it is totally marvelous.

This novel gives us an opportunity to get inside Logan´s head and get to know him better and see what he was going through. He was sad‚ bitter‚ hurt‚ angry. He was having a hard time to move forward and to cope with everything that happened.

We also get to see Jade´s side of the story. She also has her own demons that will bit by bit be revealed.

As the story progresses we get to know both of them more and to understand them.

K.A. is a natural storyteller. I love her writing style because it is so authentic and seems effortless. She just does it every time.

Toxic is full of heartache and emotion. Logan will definitely steal your heart.

This is the first book I've read in the entire series. Got an author copy for an honest review. For not reading any of the other books this one made prefect sense and I loved it! The only thing I didn't like was the time jumps. Other then that it was an amazing book and I now plan on picking up all the other books. Got a teaser at the end for a new book that's coming out soon and can't wait for it. I couldn't put this book down so I can only imagine how good the other books are gonna be and can't wait to find out! It's a great book and would highly recommend it to all my book friends. Jade had become my new favorite female character!

This is book four in the series but can be read as a standalone. I didn't read the other books in the series. However the author did a great job of giving us background details so I didn't feel lost.

OMG I seriously wanted to slap Chloe for hurting Logan. I just love Logan. I felt the tears welling up for the pain Logan was going through. I love Jade. She's been through so much she needs happiness.

This is a fantastic emotional story that will have you gripped from start to finish. I'll certainly be looking into reading the other books in this series.

Highly recommend this story.

This book was ok I couldn't connect to the story I felt it needed to be developed better. I never felt the story it was just events happening and they didn't evoke an emotional reaction. The connection between Logan and Jade was not developed I never felt the moment they fell in love. This could have been a great story but it was just ok.

3.5 stars Loved Logan and Jade, but between the other books and this one, I have had too much Chloe. What a self centered loathsome creature. I enjoyed The closure Logan receives when he finally tells Chloe what he thinks, then of course she makes it all about her! The book was a bit predictable and I am typically not a fan of the an epilogue that occurs more than a year or two in the future.
