There is no way I could have finished a book on the same day as I received it unless it's this wonderful book on the fabulous mums of Champion Valley. I went from '😂' to '😮' in a matter of 300 pages. I know it might sound too much, but I really couldn't sleep a wink before finishing it amidst my chaotic work schedule.

The book is set in grade 3 of the Champion Valley School, which caters to the privileged students in the city. The story starts with Miss Ambika's aversion to kids and her trying to deal with them as their class teacher. She tries to fit into the role desperately, which she fails more often than not. A feud erupts between Miss Ambika and the mums of five of her students when she messes up one of her tasks. The result of the mess-up can turn bitter, but will these mums choose to forgive her or seek revenge?

The book is written in multiple POVs, giving a brief insight into the lives of the mothers and the teachers. Though it was confusing in the beginning, it all fell into place slowly as I kept going. The story was a hilarious and brutally honest account of the lives and problems of affluent people. By 'rich people' problems, I don't mean Karan Johar-esque, but it was very 'Dil Dhadakne Do' or 'Kapoor and Sons' type. The comedy of errors in Ambika's life was relatable and believable.

The twist and turn of events felt very natural; the pacing was quite good, and the narrative extraordinary. This book truly deserves all the praise for being humourous, honest and evocative. I can see it easily being adapted to screen in the future, and I would love to watch it, too. It is very much recommended if you love feminist books with a lot of fun and a touch of reality.

The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley" by Zarreen Khan is a delightful and thought-provoking novel that offers a keen insight into the lives of modern parents and the pressures of today's educational system. The story follows Ambika, a compassionate and overworked teacher at Champion Valley School, as she navigates the intricate and often comical world of five ambitious mothers determined to ensure their children's success, no matter the cost.

The cast of characters—Riddhi, Giselle, Pareeta, Kainaz, and Jia—are vividly drawn, each bringing their own quirks and challenges to the table. As Ambika gets to know these women, she finds herself drawn into their worlds, uncovering hidden struggles, deep-seated insecurities, and the lengths to which they will go to protect their families. The humor woven into these interactions is spot-on, making the book a joy to read, even as it touches on serious themes of competition, societal expectations, and the often-overlooked pressures of parenthood.

What makes this book truly stand out is Khan's ability to balance light-hearted, witty prose with deeper, more reflective moments. The dialogue is sharp and engaging, and the pacing of the narrative keeps you hooked from start to finish. As Ambika becomes more entangled in the lives of these mothers, the tension builds, leading to a climax that is both surprising and satisfying.

The novel also offers a nuanced exploration of female friendships, capturing the complexities of these relationships with warmth and authenticity. Through the ups and downs of these friendships, Khan highlights the strength, resilience, and occasional pettiness that come with them. The portrayal of the school setting and the competitive atmosphere of modern education adds an extra layer of depth, making the story not only relatable but also relevant.

In the end, "The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley" is a charming and insightful read that will leave you reflecting on your own experiences with education, parenthood, and the bonds that tie us together. Whether you're a parent, a teacher, or simply someone who enjoys a good story with a dose of humor, this book is a must-read.

The curtain opens and spotlight shines bright on one Miss Ambika who has been appointed recently as the class teacher of Grade III at "The" Champions Valley School. And then the spotlight takes turns to shine on five completely different yet exciting characters, the fabulous mums of students of Miss Ambika's class. Then what unfolds is a series of perfectly structured drama, laught-out-loud moments, some reflections on parenting, friendships and amazing twists that make you want to keep flipping. This is what this amazing book is about by Zarreen Khan.

This was my first book by the author and I dived in without any expectations and I was delighted and surprised as I couldn't put the book down.
Champion Valley School is one of those schools in town that have high values, standards and that everyone want their kids to get into. And the mums here by fate of being CVS parents, have eventually became acquaintances. I will not reveal who is what but I can assure you, every character will enchant you in their own way. The writing for me was flawless and smooth.

The book has beautifully crafted short and crisp chapters and is so relatable at so many instances. Miss Ambika finds no motivation to work this job and one day writes whatever she feels about the mums and it reaches the mums. Imagine the chaos that will bring through. That's when things start to change, drama starts to unravel and it becomes all more interesting. You will laugh, you will find it amusing and you will at some points find the characters annoying. It is witty, chucklesome and hilarious.
The comic punches landed perfectly. To balance all this out, the author has also woven emotions of parenting, friendships, current education systems, the extravagance of the so-called high society and how they present different faces to different people, and in the last few chapters amazing twists and turns. The story ends like pieces fitting into a jigsaw puzzle and completing it to make it a captivating read.

The book brings to you a complete package of comic spree as well as page-turning drama. Go get the book and see what the fabulous mums are upto with Ambika.

The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley by Zarreen Khan is a witty and insightful novel that delves into the lives of five ambitious mothers and a newly appointed teacher, Ambika, at Champion Valley School. Ambika, overwhelmed by her demanding students’ mothers—Riddhi, Giselle, Pareeta, Kainaz, and Jia—is entangled in their lives, which are far more complicated than they seem.

The story takes a dramatic turn when Ambika accidentally sets off a chain of events that threatens to expose the carefully guarded secrets of these mothers. As the narrative unfolds, readers are treated to a blend of humor, drama, and sharp social commentary. Khan skillfully portrays the pressures of modern parenting and the facades people maintain, all while exploring the intricacies of female friendships. What stands out is the book’s ability to balance light-hearted moments with deeper themes of self-identity and societal expectations.

The multi-perspective storytelling adds depth, making the characters’ struggles and triumphs relatable. The pacing is brisk, and the twists keep the reader hooked until the end. Overall, The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley is an entertaining and thought-provoking read that offers a fresh perspective on contemporary motherhood and friendships.

This was my first book by the author, and I absolutely loved it. With its short chapters, sharp humour, and well-crafted character development, the book hooked me right from the start. The subtle twist towards the end added an extra layer of delight to the experience.

The story is told from multiple perspectives, giving us glimpses into the lives of several moms from Champion Valley School, with Ambika as the central protagonist. Each character’s quirks and complexities are thoughtfully fleshed out, making the ensemble cast feel vibrant and real.

While the core drama revolves around school moms, the book also explores a range of relatable themes with ease. From friendships among the mothers to the challenges of dysfunctional families, the struggles faced by working women, the pressures of being a celebrity spouse, and society's constant judgment, these elements are seamlessly woven into the plot.

If you're looking for a light, entertaining read to get back into your reading groove or need something fun for a weekend escape, this book is the perfect pick.

The Fabulous Mums Of Champion Valley by Zarreen Khan is a contemporary fiction that takes the readers on the journey of lives of the teachers, mums, and students of the Champion Valley School, which is located in Gurugram and famous for its reputation and the associated elites. The story focuses on the life of Ambica, who is the newly appointed Class Teacher of Grade III in the school, who becomes the teacher out of compulsion and as the answer to her problems - as it pays for her bills and her passion for travel. But she wasn't aware that with children comes drama, and not necessarily only from them but from their highly demanding mums as well. The drama is further enhanced when Ambica accidentally sets off a chain of events that shocks everyone and reveals some explosive secrets about the mums. Read the book to find out the chaos, drama, friendships, and humor in their life and amidst all of them, the self-discovery and realizations.

The story has lessons in it, literally! The story is divided into fifteen unique lessons, like Social Sciences, Home Science, Communication & Technology, Economics, Political Science, Philosophy and so on, and through this innovative writing, the author not only gives a fresh perspective to the story but also captures the essence of the lessons in the lives of the characters. Another interesting aspect is that most of the lesson starts with an email from the school (and again majorly from Ambica) and as the story progresses, it reflects the character development of Ambica, and I enjoyed reading them.

The story is written from the point of view of Ambica and Mums in each section with different permutations and combinations and thus gives the readers a chance to delve deeper into the lives, perspectives and perceptions of each of them, which makes it compelling and engaging.

The engaging nature of the story is further enhanced with the way each perspective of the mums is written - the melodramatic mental monologues of Riddhi in Hinglish along with her weight and diet plan, the listicles of Kainaz, the messages of Jia, the mind maps and unread emails of Giselle, and the period of pregnancy or Pareeta - each perspective giving the insights of their life and thought processes that elevates their character development. The dynamics, preconceived notions, and judgments of every character about each other are very raw and real and thus connect with the readers instantly.

The author very efficiently incorporates social issues and stereotypes that are faced by the majority of people, especially women, with the ongoing humor and drama throughout the story. Through the mums of Champion Valley, who come from as diverse backgrounds as one can think of - a homemaker, a baker, a celebrity wife, a businesswoman, and an employee - the author narrates the problems, issues and stereotypes associated with each of them, that range from late pregnancy, divorce, domestic violence, body shaming, work culture and so on, and did justice to each of them.

As the story progresses, Ambica not only develops a cordial relationship with the children but surpasses her expectations about the feelings she shares with her students, which is very well reciprocated. However I felt that this aspect was underdeveloped and we get to see only one instance where Ambica starts engaging effectively with the students with her teaching techniques and it becomes difficult to understand how the students become so close to her, especially Syra, and thus left with the craving of more character development of Ambica.

The parts that are written from Riddhi's perspective are the most enjoyable and entertaining but it comes from the fact that Hindi is my first language. For the ones who are not, it becomes overwhelming at times with the use of continuous Hinglish. And though it very accurately represents the part of the population whose first language is not English, it would be difficult to read by readers who are not very comfortable with Hindi/Hinglish.

The book very beautifully shows the friendship of the characters and how it evolved. However, the question of why only the mums were the "chosen ones" remained unanswered, and could have been explored more.

The ending of the book is very well executed and deserves special mention, and even though it was a little predictable, the way it's written and is complemented with more drama is commendable.

Overall, the story is very entertaining and delightful with the perfect amount of drama, wit and humor and taps into multiple social issues effectively, which makes it a very heartwarming and engaging read. And even though it's a 300+ page book, it could be finished in a day or two!

Ambika S is newly appointed as class teacher for Grade III B in Champion Valley School (CVS), one of the prestigious schools in Gurugram. Ambika is not a formally trained teacher and did not have any prior experience in teaching. Her erstwhile Maths teacher and now Principal of CVS Mrs. Mehta has kindly agreed to onboard her and she was then asked to undergo training under the Grade coordinator Shilpa Anand.

Ambika learnt from Shilpa Ananda how to decorate a classroom, how to add quotes while sending emails to parents, how to write report card for third grade kids without sounding offensive about their performance. Ambika did have an eclectic group of kids in her class making her teaching experience enjoyable, however their parents gave Ambika a headache on most days with their constant complaints, suggestions, through never ending emails.

When Ambika wrote a report card about the five moms in a haste and that is leaked unknowingly to one of the parents, all hell breaks loose, as the five moms are raging due to Ambika’s judgmental comments. Will this reveal more secrets about Ambika to the moms and to the world than Ambika ever intended to, forms the rest of the story.

The story is about a new teacher Ambika who joined CVS, along with five moms and their kids and families, showcasing their friendship, their insecurities. Riddhi is forever trying new diet plans but cannot control binge eating unhealthy food. Her elder daughter Syra is a genius and wise like an eighty year old but Ambika thinks Riddhi is more interested in her younger son Shivam’s life. Giselle has her own consulting firm but all Ambika can see are her fake contact lenses.

Pareeta ran her home bakery business while bringing up two young kids and also Giselle’s son Kevin who is forever hanging around Pareeta’s house. Pareeta is now pregnant again, third time, which Ambika feels is to save her crumbling marriage with her husband Pankaj who was always overseas busy with his work. Jia who recently moved to India is trying to get complete custody of her daughter Rabia, but Ambika only notices the heavy and cakey makeup that Jia always wore.

Kainaz and her husband Varaz, who was a famous television actor, have just shifted to Gurugram from Goa and Kainaz is unable to let go of her bond with Goa and her dislike for the new city, which Ambika thinks is affecting her son’s ability to adjust to his new school and new friends. However, only after Ambika’s note is leaked does the reader know the real personalities of these five moms and their past.

The story touches on modern day schools and parents, especially those who are rich but have their own quirks. Riddhi’s character brings in good humor to balance the grim reality of Pareeta and Jia. The first half establishes these families and the second half is where all the secrets are revealed, and the twists towards the end will tie back all the loose threads.

The story balances fun and message well and entertains the reader till the end. Along with modern day parenting, the story also mirrors how easily we judge others without knowing their real life. Pick this one to read a story that is fun, entertaining with a subtle message.

The heartwarming and amusing novel "The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley" skillfully tells a story of motherhood, companionship, and self-discovery. The plot centers around Ambika, a busy teacher at Champion Valley School, who finds herself caught up in the intricate network of demanding, high-strung mothers who will do whatever it takes to ensure their children's success.

The vibrant personalities of Riddhi, Giselle, Pareeta, Kainaz, and Jia had me laughing. As a mother of a pre-schooler, I could easily relate and even place these characters in my own social circle of mom friends! While Ambika navigates the tricky terrain of interactions between parents and teachers, birthday gatherings, and school functions, she starts to uncover the complex lives of these women, exposing secrets, vulnerabilities, and aspirations that threaten to disrupt the norm.

The storytelling is effortlessly captivating, filled with a dry wit that had me laughing out loud. Her writing is also steeped in a profound understanding, enabling readers to connect with even the most of the characters. As the narrative progresses, the author adeptly delves into themes of self-identity, social status, and the pressures of contemporary parenthood, prompting important reflections on the facades we project and the expectations we set for ourselves and others.

One of the book's strongest feature is its nuanced depiction of female connections. The author sensitively captures the intricate dynamics of female friendships, where women both encourage and undermine each other in equal measure. The storytelling maintains a good pace, with an engaging storyline that races towards a surprising conclusion. As Ambika's world begins to crumble, the stakes are heightened, and the suspense builds to a dramatic climax. .

With its clever conversations, relatable characters, and meaningful themes, "The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley" is a charming and enlightening read that will leave you grinning, nodding, and possibly contemplating your own relationships.

The Fabulous Mums Of Champion Valley
by Zarreen Khan

The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley is a new addition by bestselling author Zarreen Khan. This time she wrote on the modern day fancy education system and how some parents are simply obsessed with them. It is a tempting story, I had a fun while reliving the moments back from my own school days.

The story highlights on the five Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley. Their kids study in Class III B of the same school under Class Teacher Ambica S. The mommies of were found back biting, gossiping and judging against each other which was exhilarating. Each had a different issue to tackle at hand with but still got time to gossip about others.

Miss Ambica once scribbled a few lines on a paper about some mom's from her point of view, which to a certain extent was true. The paper slipped and somehow reached the moms which badly hurt their ego and they were ready avenge her.....

The extravagant birthday parties held by parents would put marraige functions to shame. The pre-birthday photo shoot was mandatory. Famous caterers were hired. Fancy location was chosen for the function to be held. Some family even travelled abroad to get the pre-birthday photoshoot done.

The story incapsulates the school drama within the premises and around it. It was amusing and relatable. I enjoyed the story throughout. The chapters in the book are divided into different subjects which gives us the vibes of attending school.

The story is full of warmth and wit. Its a light and cosy read which is relaxing at the same time amusing when the puns are added. We get to witness child psychology and how they open up in the comfort of their favourite class teacher. The sweet and innocent musings of young kids were sure to win the hearts of readers.

' Why doesn't my Mama go to lab ?' Ashwin whined. 'I also want a brother!'

The chemistry between the Mums is showcased in a amusing and engaging manner. How they changed from mere acquaintances to best friends is a long story. Plunge into the book to find out.

The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley starts off as a comic romp through school politics but is, beneath the surface, a heartwarming and thought-provoking tale of friendship, motherhood, and self-discovery. At the core is Ambika, a teacher at Champion Valley School-where the kids are easier to handle than their over-the-top moms.
.
The story is triggered off when Ambika inadvertently sets off a chain of events that puts her right in the crosshairs of "fabulous" mothers-Riddhi, Giselle, Pareeta, Kainaz, and Jia-all of whom come with demands and over-the-top attitude. From trying to wrangle class chaos to dodging passive-aggressive comments from the mums, Ambika's life quickly turns into a comic mess. What starts off as light-hearted drama will soon unravel into a story literally steeped in much real life-struggle, from dysfunctional relationships to body shaming, late pregnancies, and finally, unspoken truths.
.
Khan strikes the perfect balance of humor with poignant insights into these female characters' lives, showing that even the most privileged class is not leading as perfect a life as it may seem. The quick-witted banter, dilemmas one can usually relate to, and humor in the book make it entertaining, but it's in the underlying depth of self-confidence, parenting pressures, and fragile friendships that give it meaning. As Ambika and the mums peeled the gloss off their exteriors, we were sucked into the messiness of their lives.
.
The conclusion is full of satisfying resolutions: secrets revealed, friendships evolved, Ambika not only surviving the onslaught of "mum-zillas" but actually having her own unexpected connections with the children and their mothers revealed.
Tailor-made for the screen: a heady cocktail of hilarity, drama, and social comment the book for me simply cries out for a movie adaptation. Think *Big Little Lies meets Dil Dhadakne Do* - here are the vibrant characters, the fast-paced dialogue, and the layered storyline all in place. This story will work on either page or screen.

Zarreen Khan with another smashing book.

CVS is a prestigious school in Delhi that every parent aspires for their child to attend. This story follows a group of quirky moms who see themselves as the “normals,” while viewing everyone else as different. The narrative holds a mirror to the experiences of every parent navigating this stage of life—caught up in peer pressure and swept along by the competitive wave. It takes a special kind of self-control to rise above petty fights and competitiveness, allowing children to shine on their own.

The main moms in the story—Jia, Kainaz, Riddhi, Giselle, and Pareeta—are beautifully portrayed, each with her own distinct storyline that remains clear throughout the book. I often get confused when there are many characters in a book, but that didn’t happen here because of how well the author presents each character’s individuality.

Jia is battling her own inner turmoils. Riddhi is a wealthy housewife, a bit of a foodie, and perpetually on a diet—at least in name. Kainaz, who has just moved from Goa, is struggling to like Delhi and is baffled by its people. Giselle, who runs her own consultancy, comes across as stand-offish and no-nonsense. Pareeta, newly pregnant for the third time, is struggling in her long-distance marriage.

Into this mix comes Miss Ambika, the new class teacher who breaks all the norms and, like the Pied Piper, utterly charms all the kids. Having been a school dropout herself, she finds the formalities of the school stifling and over the top, but she goes along with the bare minimum to avoid trouble.

An incident during a PTM throws everything into disarray, and it was fascinating to see how the pieces fell into place. The self-realization and self-correction that follow only draw the group closer. Where they once hovered on the periphery of each other’s lives, this event brings them together as a tighter, more supportive group, which I found endearing.

Funny and thought-provoking in equal measure, I can’t wait for the next book from Zarreen.

I just finished reading "The Fabulous Mums Of Champion Valley" by Zarreen Khan, and I'm still grinning from ear to ear! This book is laugh-out-loud and relatable, This book is a real-life look at what it's like to be a parent, a friend, and a person with secrets.

Imagine being a teacher, just trying to do your best, and then you get caught up in a group of super demanding moms! That's what happens to Ambika. She's a good person, but these moms, led by Riddhi, Giselle, Pareeta, Kainaz, and Jia, are tough! They have high expectations and aren't afraid to speak their minds.

Zarreen Khan's writing is amazing! She has a way of making you care about her characters, even when they're not perfect. They're relatable, funny, and sometimes a little messy - just like real people!

The way she writes conversations is so natural, it feels like you're eavesdropping on friends. And the story moves at just the right pace, keeping you curious until the very end.

Through Ambika's story, the author points out some big questions: Who am I? Where do I belong? What happens when we face our secrets and fears? As the characters learn to understand and forgive each other, they grow and change in ways that feel real and authentic.

The book is a satirical take on how schooling has evolved in the current times, specially in posh areas, as well as a social commentary on how perception has come to the forefront of how we evaluate people based on limited interactions with them. The 5 mums in the school represent different sections of the society as well as each of them have a complex story that gets explored as the book moves ahead. Ambika as a protagonist is the lens which is pointed at these 5 women and is the social lens by which we judge people by their looks or their behavior without knowing their backgrounds. On the other hand, as we navigate through the world of each of these women, we come to realise that sometimes, it is better to let first impressions not be last impressions. The writing of the book is crisp and moves at a good pace, so that you are not bored. The book is also not preachy, but sends the intended message in a nice manner. Another aspect of the book that I loved was the school part of it and how Zarreen has taken the current schooling system and highlighted the state of affairs that are currently prevalent, and the dig on them is quite amazing to read. The climax was quite fun and the reveal towards the end (both of them) were a delight to read.

The character development in the book is detailed, and the author peels the story of each character slowly and steadily so that you are invested in the story as well as relevance to the central plot is maintained throughout. I loved how the character arc of Ambika is explored, and how there are hints here and there about the climax, but there is nothing conclusive till the very end. The detailing in the characters of the 5 mums and how it is explored was quite fun to read, specially with the summaries in the beginning. As the stories are told through each person’s perspective, it was quite fun to see how each person was perceiving the situation even while sitting together.

The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley by Zarreen Khan is a truly captivating and thought-provoking book that provides deep insights into the lives of modern parents and the educational system. The story revolves around Ambika, who experiences a significant turning point in her life when she joins Champion Valley School as a teacher. As she navigates the new environment and connects with the students, she becomes acquainted with the fabulous moms and gradually delves into their complex and intriguing lives.
Set against the backdrop of an elite school, the book intricately captures the subtle yet compelling dramas that unfold, ranging from school politics to the closely guarded secrets within families and friendships. Each character, including Riddhi, Gis, Pareeta, Kainaz, and Jia, has a rich and individual story filled with unique struggles and experiences. The portrayal of their deep friendships, parental bonds, occasional possessiveness for their children, and the intertwining threads of gossip and judgment create a rich and dynamic narrative that draws readers deeper into the storyline.

“Was I being expected to discipline eight-year-olds when I’d spent most of my own schooling hours in detention? Was I being asked to hold them accountable for not doing their homework when my imaginary dog had perpetually feasted on mine? Was I being asked to maintain discipline and pin drop silence in the class when my legendary note-passing skills in school could put any social network to shame?”

Ambika S. thinks being a teacher at Champion Valley School is tough until she meets the ridiculously demanding, impatient and unreasonable mums of her young students!
Fed up with their continuous demands and stifled by the strict education system, Ambika accidentally sets off a chain of events that shocks everyone and threatens to reveal explosive secrets.
Will Ambika survive the fallout of irking the powers that be, or will she be swept away by the chaos?

The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley hits the mark with a hilariously accurate depiction of the life of school mums and offers a deep insight into the challenges of parenting amidst changing demands of modern education and the race to keep pace with growing competition.

Balancing it with her inherent wit and humour, the author reels you in with an engrossing narrative, looping in a little mystery, a lot of melodrama, and a few precious life lessons hidden within the subtext.

Not only do I recommend this book to all parents, especially those with young kids, but also to those looking for a cheerful, engaging story to brighten your day. Just make sure you have time on your hands before you dive in because the compulsion to read will hit you like never before.

Book #71 of 2024
The story is set in an elite school, bringing with it all the drama you'd expect from such an environment. There's so much I loved about this book. The school politics, bake sales, PTA meetings, school functions, and the intense educational pressure make it incredibly relatable.
But what truly stands out are the characters! They’re so well-crafted that they stay with you long after the story ends. Riddhi’s rants about her diet were a delight, and I found Kainaz's lists particularly enjoyable.
The relationships among the moms are a fascinating mix of friendship and willingness to do anything for their kids. The endless gossip, constant judging, and the race to outdo each other are depicted with such accuracy that it feels like you're right there with them. The kids' psychology is also beautifully captured—their conversations and interactions are so cute and true to life.
The story moves at a great pace, building up to a climax that kept me turning the pages faster. I also loved how the chapters are named after school subjects, and the inclusion of chats, emails, and lists added an extra layer of interest.
The storyline is deeply engaging and brought back a flood of memories. The evolution of the moms’ friendships over the years is portrayed well.
Beyond the realm of the story, the author has done a brilliant job of depicting the current state of the education system and the immense pressure it places on both students and parents.
All of this is wrapped up in a neat package with a generous dose of humor. There were plenty of laugh-out-loud moments that made the reading experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, it’s a fantastic read when you’re in the mood for something light and cozy. I’m sure you’ll enjoy every bit of it.

I am back with another review and this time it is “The fabulous mums of champion valley by Zarreen Khan. This was a fun read and a quick one too. When you are on a flight or train you can definitely try this book out because it does not require a lot of attention as it is an easy going book.

This book is about mostly parents whose kids are in a very elite school. How there is jealousy, competition, a race to show the other parent a bit down, the harsh realities of high profile family. All the chapters are a narration of the each parent. Riddhi being the funniest and the person who loves to eat and hates dieting.

A single mother Jia who is mostly busy in her office work but her mother is always there to help her with her daughter.

Ambika who is a newly appointed teacher of this school finds herself in the chaotic life of few parents. Her journey of self exploration begins in this school. She is irritated by the school coordinator who on every email which Ambika sends to the parents has something which she finds is not appropriate.

Baker mother who is always ready to bake cake and be a part of the bake sale in school. All the mothers are filled in with insecurities but author has explained all this with a lot of humour.

Pace is good with amazing writing. Dialogue of everyone is just amazing and there are parts where you cannot stop laughing. Highly recommend this book which is humorous but with a strong motto. A complete entertainment is there in this book.

Name : The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley
Author : Zarreen Khan
Genre : Contemporary

My 💭:
[16/09/24 10.24PM]

This book is honestly the perfect read for the fans of 'Real housewives' reality tv series. I have never watched it, but I have watched other reality shows like 'Selling Sunset', which had the same drama and masala of this book.

First of all, the cover is so fun to look at, no? You'll immediately know that you are up for some fun entertaining read. Tbh I was expecting the whole story from Ambika's narrative, because of the blurb. Since she is a teacher, I imagined there will be classroom scenes mostly. But boy was I wrong! And it couldn't have been better!

The story is basically on the lives of a few 3rd grade children's moms. Each of those moms have their own unique lives with their own battles to fight everyday. In spite of Ambika's judgements, I kind of found them empowering to read. The author did a brilliant job in giving each of these characters their own specific spark and uniqueness. Honestly, Riddhi is a powerhouse 🙌! Rather, I found Ambika to be quite irritating.

The story progression was a bit slow for me, but the characters kept me entertained. I kind of predicted the twist, so I was a tad underwhelmed by it. Honestly I kind of wanted some random murder to happen, just to see how the moms would react 😂. Giselle will be the lead detective for sure 🙌.

To conclude my review, it was a fun breezy read, just as the blurb promised. And a perfect fiction read for those who want some parenting knowledge! 🌻

The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley is a thoroughly entertaining novel that expertly weaves a tale of parenting and friendship. Zarreen is already a bestselling author and this time, she focused on the contemporary, extravagant education system and the fixation some parents have with it.

The story revolves around Ambika, a dedicated teacher at Champion Valley School, who becomes entangled in the complex web of ambitious, intense mothers willing to go to any lengths to secure their children’s success. The story captures the school drama both within the campus and beyond its boundaries. It was entertaining, relatable and enjoyable. The chapters are organized into different subjects, which will make the readers go back to school.

The storytelling is naturally engaging, infused with a subtle humor. Zarreen’s writing is also deeply insightful, allowing readers to empathize with all the characters. Readers can observe child psychology in action as the children gradually open up to the comforting presence of their favorite class teacher. As the narrative unfolds, the author skillfully explores themes of social class entangled with challenges of modern parenthood resulting in meaningful reflections. The delicate portrayal of the complex dynamics of female friendships, is quite enjoyable.

This book is an engaging and all in all an entertaining read that will make the readers go through a range of emotions and also has a potential to stir up and reflect.

The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley is the story of, very evident from the title, the fabulous mums of the Champion Valley School, Gurugram. Ambika gets a job as a primary school teacher to pay her bills and fulfill her travel plans. The challenge comes from the over-the-top mothers of her students. Fed up of these mums, Ambika accidentally starts a chain of events that turn everything into chaos, skillfully balancing humor and insight, capturing the absurdity of the situations Ambika finds herself in.

Zarreen Khan's writing style is amazing! The book is very interestingly written, it includes emails, texts and what not! I love this kind of writing! Banter, witty dialogues and brilliantly titled chapters, namely 'Life Sciences', 'Social Sciences', 'Home Science',  'Communication and Technology', 'Economics' and so on, depicting the designated part of the characters in the story. So very well crafted that I'm impressed! And yes it's a story of adults involved in their children's schools, so it's a depiction of reality, sometimes.

This book is an exploration of the chaos of parenting, the complexities of friendship, and the courage it takes to confront one’s own truths. A must-read for anyone navigating the tumultuous waters of parenthood or simply looking for a witty and fun story. I absolutely enjoyed this book in its entirety. Imperfect characters, funny situations, multiple POVs and brilliant writing style.

THE FABULOUS MUMS OF CHAMPION VALLEY - ZARREEN KHAN

4.5⭐

PLOT
Ambika S starts her new job as a teacher at Champion Valley School. She is finding the intricacies very tough until she meets Riddhi, Giselle, Pareeta, Kainaz and Jia who are ridiculous, demanding, impatient and unreasonable mums of her young students.
These mums will go to any length for the best interests of their kids. Fed up with their behaviour Ambica does something unintentionally which sets off a chain of events which will not only affect Ambica but all the other school mums too.
This will affect Ambica but at what price??

MY THOUGHTS -

I didn't expect to enjoy this book so much! As a south Mumbai mom to a 4th grader I could very well relate to the portrayals of the mums and the current educational system which follow international boards. Zareen has done such a fabulous job in defining the eccentricities of all characters esp the mums and their kids that it was a delight to read.
Reading this book was also as if a mirror was put in front of me and a reality check at some of our parenting choices!!
At a lot of places the chapters end with a small suspense and a twist which will make you keep on turning pages and will land up binge reading the book!!
I don't want to elaborate more to avoid any spoilers!
Highly recommend this thought provoking, humorous, relatable book with short multiple POVs .

When Grade III teacher Ambika writes a report card for the fabulous moms of her students, she doesn’t know it’ll land her in hot water. She doesn’t like children but definitely needs the job. However when her true yet bitter words reach the moms, she knows she has to set it straight and apologise! Plus find out who is responsible for putting that paper out there, and who officially complained against her?

While I expected this book to be witty (I mean the title says it all), I didn’t expect the story to have so much depth. Each of the main cast is a characterisation of human beings in certain situations and each of their parts is very well written. Reading more like a tv soap opera rather than a book it has multiple POVs written in different styles. These give substance to the story and illustrate the characters well! I loved the witty humour… it is spectacular! The narrative reveals that most people are rarely what they seem on the surface and that there are always hidden stories that make your judgement of someone seem hasty! While I haven’t read any other books by this author, I’ll be sure to look them up. A quick read with a lot of interesting angles, including a plot twist at the end!! Would definitely recommend to all!!

To be honest this book is a cover read for me. I didn't expect to like it this much. "The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley by Zarreen Khan” is set around Champion Valley School and revolves around the lives of these fabulous mums Giselle, Jia, Riddhi, Pareeta, Kainaz, and the class teacher of their children Miss Ambika.

This is such a fun and easy breezy read, unlike anything I have read before. The multiple PoV’s from each Mom including teacher Ambika, make the story more interesting. Miss Ambika is such a fun teacher to have no wonder kids love her so much. The mothers in the book are the driving force behind their children's success, from the single mother working tirelessly to provide for her family to the career-driven mother juggling motherhood with her demanding job.
The author captures the diverse experiences and emotions of these women with wit and Humor, while also delving into deeper themes. The surprise at the end with titbits of brewing love was a delightful experience.

If you are looking for a book that will inspire you and leave you feeling warm, this one tops the list. It celebrates motherhood, friendship, and community and resonates with readers of all ages.

The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley is a fiction book. Champion Valley is a school, and this story is about Class 3 students' mums and their classroom teacher. Ambika is a dropout graduate, and she somehow manages to get a job, although she never thought of becoming a teacher. However, situations take turns, and she becomes the Class 3 classroom teacher. After that, her life started to take more turns and twists.
This is the first book I have read by Zarreen Khan. It is a fast read and also has multiple points of view. I love reading Riddhi's point of view. This book contains humor, suspense, and emotion. It shows five different moms and their struggles between personal and professional life. What can I say about the plot twists? This book has twist after twist. I love when a book conveys a message in the same way as a phone. Overall, this book is amazing. If you are feeling a reading slump, then you can give this book a try.

The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley is a hilarious and heart-warming tale that delves into competitive and chaotic modern-day parenting and highlights the concerns that most parents overlook, considering that their kid's education is the sole responsibility of the school and the staff. The story features a school, Champions Valley, where the chaos starts with a mere sense of competition and trying to save the school's reputation. The plot unfolds at a brisk pace such that the avid reader will gobble this book in one go. The twists and turns will keep the readers hooked. This book presents a satirical commentary on the societal pressures faced by women when it comes to parenting. It also highlights the silly lengths to which some mothers will go to make their kids shine.

Ever wondered if given a chance would you like to go back to school but this time as the teacher not the student?

I recently came across "The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley" by Zarreen Khan who is also the best selling author of "Koi Good News?" Who doesn't like a book filled with witty and insightful narratives? The book is about modern education system and also how it impacts parents and the pressure children get from the competitive world. A good book which can humour the reader is a rare find and this is one of the rare books which has shown social commentary in a light-hearted story.

Story begins as Ambika who is a dedicated teacher finds herself entangled in the chaotic lives of five very demanding and ambitious mothers. These mothers- Riddhi, Giselle, Pareeta, Kainaz, and Jia are keen to see their children excel whatever be the cost. I particularly enjoyed how author has captured the essence of parenthood, friendships and pressure of the competitive world and modern education. The interactions between mothers are amusing and relatable as well. As we know, being a parent is not easy and the book highlights on what lengths parents suffer and reader thus, keep empathizing about the situation.

Book also covers children's psychology and ofcourse makes you recall the good old days, when some of your teachers were like friends to you and had your back. "The Fabulous Mums of Champion Valley" is an entertaining but thought provoking read. Hope you keep laughing as I did and reminisce about your own school days.
