Redemption Ridge #6

The Beautiful Mess

Rate this book
A heroic, sworn bachelor risks his neck to save lives, but his heart needs a daring rescue.

Kerry likes his beer cold, his coffee hot, and sex without strings. Running an emergency response crew takes up most of his time, and he reserves the rest for his family. Besides, he’s experienced enough heartache for two lifetimes and isn’t looking for more misery. Kerry’s carefully crafted peace shatters when he meets Keegan, a hazel-eyed hottie and his brother’s new friend.

Falling for Kerry is a collision waiting to happen, but Keegan can’t resist the heroic hunk’s charm. Smoldering eyes and wicked grins tempt Keegan to go flat-out, even when he’s barreling toward a dead end. Rejection is the last thing his newfound confidence needs, but the crash might be worth the risk if Kerry’s there to give him mouth-to-mouth.

A crowded bar. A slow song. Months of mutual pining reach a fever pitch, and the invitation is out of Kerry’s mouth before he can stop it. Three minutes. Two battered hearts. One dance that changes everything.

Brick by brick, Kerry and Keegan dismantle the walls around their hearts to build something beautiful together. But old habits die hard, and traumas are slow to heal. Their love will either be the most beautiful gift or the messiest mistake.

The Beautiful Mess is book six in the Redemption Ridge series. Though each story features a different couple, reading the series in order is essential. The Beautiful Mess contains mature themes and is intended for adults.

I was so happy when Aimee said she was going to be writing Keegan and Kerry's romance and I am so happy that this is the story she gave us because it's utterly perfect.

Both men have gone though severe traumatic experiences in their lives but how they've approached life going forward has been pretty different. For Kerry, since the murder of his sister and the subsequent death of his father from essentially grief, he's shut off his heart and refused to let anyone new in.

Keegan though, he's come out of the abuse of Salvation Anew with a purpose, to reclaim his life, to embrace his queerness, and to fall in love with the big Happy Ever After.

That the whole of Hart's Creek knows that Keegan and Kerry are a match made in perfect heaven, especially Kerry's family, who have taken Kee in like he's one of their own and are slowly giving him a home life he's never had before, doesn't seem to sink in with the rescue crew operator though.

There's so much beautiful UST in this book from the minute you open it up, Kerry can't stay away from Keegan, no matter how much he tries, but there's no leading him on aspect to it, he admits from the off that he wants him but he'd only end up hurting him.

Of course, there's more than just the relationship angle to the story and, with the cult plot finally cleared up in the last book, instead we get a more personal issue for Kerry with one of his former workers who he fired after a rescue went wrong.

I loved every bit of this secondary plot, with the nods to the fabulous film My Cousin Vinnie and the return of Kerry's best friend Dominic, a private investigator who sets of sparks with Sven once again.

The way the relationship develops, as Kerry finds himself opening up and having a few home truths told to him from his wonderful mum, is beautiful to read. He's scared of how much he knows he could feel for Keegan if he left himself fall.

Seeing him being brave enough to just go for it is special, as is watching Keegan gain back his control over his queerness, his experiences and making it clear what he wants from Kerry. It might start off as a casual let's just give it a try but it's obvious they're both head over heels deep.

I've loved every visit to Redemption Ridge, Aimee's created a fabulous setting with a whole host of brilliantly crafted central figures, supported by a well rounded bunch of secondary characters and the small town/found family vibes are perfect.

With just Sven and Dom to go, I'll be gutted to finally say goodbye to this corner of the world!

These men of Redemption Ridge never fail to make me swoon over how caring, tender and loving they are towards their partners and found family. And the communication levels?! Very very acceptable.

I love that Keegan was not made to be a weak character just because he went through horrible trauma. He was strong, snarky and refused to take less than what he deserved and I was soo here for it.

Kerry was unexpectedly more deep than I thought he would be, he was annoying me a lil bit for a with the back and forth feelings (even though they were understandable given his history) but eventually got it together and was exactly what my bby Keegan needed 😌

I’ve loved every couple so far in this series bc every couple just feels very grounded, real, and clearly adore one another. I’m just a sucka for sappy boys 🥹

I loved that we got Keegan and Kerry's story! It was a great ending and offered some extra closure, since Keegan had appeared in all the books throughout the series.

There had been quite a lot of Keegan's backstory in the other books, and I loved how he and Kerry managed to find safety and comfort with each other. They were both dealing with the repercussions of what they'd been through, but their story was mostly focused on healing instead of the traumas that they'd both faced in the past.

It was lovely to see how much support both Keegan and Kerry had, and that Kerry's family had basically already decided that Keegan was one of them. They were not subtle at all, and it was both sweet and endearing to see how badly they wanted to set them up with each other. Kerry and Keegan both had their reasons to be a bit wary about their feelings, and Kerry was quite frustrating with his hot and cold behaviour at the beginning, but it was absolutely beautiful to see how perfect they were together once they took the leap.

Kerry was protective and a bit possessive of Keegan, and I loved their initial interactions - the tension between them was so thick! The mutual attraction between them was obvious and even if Kerry tried to resist, he couldn't stay away from Keegan. Their chemistry was very intense and it was easy to get drawn into their story and root for them considering how strongly they both felt for each other.

The Beautiful Mess was a fantastic conclusion to the Redemption Ridge series, and I've had a great time with this found family! I love how caring and sweet Aimee Nicole Walker wrote the men here, and the continuous plot offered quite a few twists and surprises along the way. Definitely a series to look into for some hurt / comfort, found family and small town goodness!

4 Stars!! Great to get Keegan’s story finally. He has been through a lot and it was wonderful to see him get his confidence back and finally find his HEA. ❤️ 😍Kerry was an interesting person for sure; although I understood his past grief and baggage; why it led him to pushing Keegan away initially, didn’t make sense to me. Anyway, they finally found each other so alls well that ends well. 🫶🥰

I am so in love with this Redemption Series and this “The Beautiful Mess” blew my mind as it is absolutely beautiful.
The attraction between Keegan and Kerry is intense, the physical attraction plus their desire makes them as absolute hot mess when together.
They both knew when their time was right, from that moment nothing could stop them!

Kelly runs an emergency rescue operation which is detailed magnificently by Aimee, his business is being singled out, it’s an exceptional storyline.

Keegan has come such a long way since his abuse from the Salvation Anew, he has grown so much with all the help from everyone at Redemption Ridge.

The humour is fabulous, perfect banter, low angst, plus sizzling moments.
They have found their person!

Yay Keegan’s story and he finally got the happy he deserved with the man he wanted, Kerry. Kerry need a kick in the but sometimes because he’ll tell Kee he can’t be with him and yet he won’t let him be with anyone else, grrr… That finally changed when Keegan went out on a date that was disastrous and Kerry saved him thanks to Sven’s sneakiness. Finally he gave in and they stared dating and falling in love, so good! I loved the book along with Keegan and Kerry! I can’t wait for Sven and Dom’s novella in January!

Sweet story

Aimee Nicole Walker has a fine series with Redemption Ridge; Keegan and Kerry's story was exactly what I hoped for given the buildup. And the stage is nicely set for the next installment.

You could probably read this as a standalone but will likely enjoy it more if you read in order.

This is a gentle romance story, Kerry and Keegan clearly have mutual attraction to one another but both are holding back due to their pasts. They have a lot of help from friends and family to get them together. Sven is hilarious and a brilliant character. This story is part of a series, but it had a different vibe, a softer story with low steam and slow burn. Can't wait to continue the series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

After a bit of a slow start, I ended up really enjoying Keegan and Kerry's love story. The Hart family was such a cozy, loving bunch of matchmakers, and I was getting a kick out of all their not-so-subtle attempts to push Kerry and Keegan together. Keegan was pretty up-front about his crush on Kerry, but Kerry waffled hot and cold for the first several chapters of the book. I'll be honest and say that Kerry's actions and inability to make up his mind frustrated me, even though I can't imagine the heartache that seeing his family shatter apart from betrayal left him with. Kerry had his walls up sky high and refused to entertain anything other than a one night stand... until Keegan came along and showed him that there was so much more to life than just drifting along apart from everyone else. Keegan had such a huge heart, and I loved seeing how his presence motivated Kerry into being a better version of himself. Keegan himself was still at the very beginning of exploring his sexuality, and he needed someone like Kerry that he could trust to take care of him and be a safe space as he learned what he wanted from a partner. Their relationship was wonderfully intimate, their chemistry clicked into place naturally, and the love between them was palpable even before they were ready to say the words out loud. Outside of the romance, I found Kerry's rescue operation storyline to be an interesting development to follow that had a very satisfying resolution, cementing Kerry's company as an integral part of the town and exposing the bad actors that tried to kick him down. Keegan's journey was mostly about him teaching his brain that he could love himself as a queer man and that there was no place for shame in his life, and I was thrilled to see him blossom with confidence by the end of the book. All in all, I was really pleased by how sweet and uplifting the overall tone of the story was, and I adored the sweet sendoff Keegan and Kerry had in the epilogue.

4,75 *well deserved* stars!

Well, after the last two books of RR that IMO didn’t live up to the first three ones that I reaaaally like, I had high hopes for Keegan and Kerry from the chemistry they showed in The Keeper and IT DELIVERED!
(This story can be read as a standalone but is better savored after at least the previous installment of the series)

Kee and Kerry are engaged in a tug of war and chicken game where they take turns flirting, making advances and retreating because of past issues that left some hurts and traumas. The UST is well-established and it’s oh so satisfying to see them succumb to it and to all the feelings that are attached.

The story picks up in the aftermath of Kerry’s sister’s killer arrest and we get to see more of the Hart’s family than the Redemption Ridge crew since the focus is on Kee and Kerry’s relationship, with Kerry being a Hart and Kee being best friends with Sven (Kerry’s stepbrother) and Rue (Kerry’s cousin’s husband). Oh and Keegan is also by now completely unofficially adopted by the Harts and there *might* be some not-so discreet attempts at matchmaking to make him an official member of the family 😉
Though the RR crew is still on the periphery and we do get to see lovely and supportive exchanges between Keegan and some of them!

This time, troubles brew around Kerry from a troublesome (now ex-)employee who botched a rescue case and from the victim of this rescue who is taking legal actions to milk whatever he can from the situation.

The story was a great blend of all of these elements and left me craving for more! Especially for Sven whom I absolutely adore, and whose personality and shenanigans shined through everything else.
Can’t wait for his story with Dom!!

In the meantime, I 100% recommend The Beautiful Mess.

It's here, the book a lot of us have been waiting for... Keegan and Kerry's story. Both men have held a torch for each other ever since they met but because both also suffered trauma, neither have acted upon it.

Kerry keeps his heart close to his vest, he's build walls around it since losing his sister and father and won't let anybody in apart from his family and those he cares about. He runs an emergency rescue business and after an incident with one of his employés, his work and intergrety are being targeted. The only light in his life is Keegan, whom he has strong feelings for but doesn't seem to recognize that what he's feeling is more than just affection for someone who's become one of his family.

Keegan has escaped abuse from Salvation Anew and is determined to make his own way in life and to live it to the fullest. Ever since Kerry's family's shown him what family and love is all about, he's made up his mind to go for nothing less than being happy with who he is and finding a love he sees from his friends at the ranch. And he wants that happiness with Kerry. Ever since meeting him his feelings have gone haywire but thinks Kerry's feelings aren't as strong.

It's great to see how Kerry's family do anything possible to get the two to see how great they are together. They plot, give hints, anything to help which leads to some funny and tender moments between the two. Before they get their happy ending however there's first the little matter of finding out who's trying to ruin Kerry's business.

I really loved this one and am already looking forward to Dom and Sven's book. I wonder what Aimee Nicole has got in store for us with those two!

While it really isn’t necessary to read any of the other books in the series to enjoy this one, returning readers are going to love how far Keegan has come and that he gets to explore his attraction to Kerry. He’s finally at the point in his recovery that he’s starting to embrace himself fully, not without some self-doubt and thanks to the support of those that love, but he’s getting there. He’s worked so hard for this and been thru so much that it makes this story so much sweeter.

Kerry has also been struggling after his sister’s murder and the death of his father. He’s never quite worked thru them and it’s colored all of his relationships in the decades since. He’s a stand up guy but one that isn’t willing to open himself up to others … until Keegan. He doesn’t handle things well once his heart starts getting involved but that’s to be expected. And when he steps up he goes all in!

Every time I think I’ve found my favorite of Walker’s couples a new book comes along and I fall all over again. Once we get over the back and forth of Kerry struggling with his feelings, these two are adorable together. Unfortunately we only get snippets (like their first date) but I’m only upset because they are so sweet and how come we can’t have more of that? Unlike some of the previous stories we don’t get a lot of a suspense element, but I didn’t really miss it and just enjoyed the more intimate look of two guys trying to find their footing together.

(There’s an end of the year novella coming soon and I’m ready to get my hands on it. The sooner the better because Sven is going to be ah-some!)

This is book 6 in the Redemption Ridge series and you really should read this series in order. This is the story of Kerry and Keegan. Kerry owns his rescue business and also works as a bartender part time. He has a huge loving family including cousins and grandma. However, the hurt of losing his sister and then his father has not fully healed. Kerry is determined not to give his heart away again as he can't survive anymore heartache. Keegan has had a miserable life. We have read about it in the earlier books. His mother was in a cult and completely crazy. He was physically and mentally abused until he was rescued a year ago. Keegan has been working hard to get his life back. Counselling and art therapy to name a few. Keegan's best friend is the bright, shining force of nature Sven. Sven is also the step brother of Kerry, the man that Keegan is totally infatuated with. Tired of the two of them dancing around each other, Sven and the rest of the Hart family put the matchmaker push on. Sven maneuvers Kerry to dance with Keegan. The sparks between them fly. There is no way either one of them can deny what they feel any longer. This is their story. The book is very well written and easy to read. While part of the Redemption Ridge group, the focus is on the Hart family and Keegan and Kerry. As in all the other books of this series, both Keegan and Kerry are going to have to work to get their HEA. Nothing ever comes easy for these guys and this book doesn't disappoint. I really enjoyed how supportive all the Harts and Keegan were of each other. I really enjoyed this book.

I loved this story of Kerry and Keegan and their relationship. Kerry was slow to admit that he wanted Keegan but he also blocked him finding someone else much of the time too. This was full of passion, feelings and emotions. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

"I don't just want to imprint your body with mine. I want to devour you until there's no you or me, just us."

I was so happy when Aimee Nicole Walker said she was going to expand the Redemption Ridge series so Keegan got his HEA. That poor man has spent the majority of his life in Hell. Imagine having a mother who despises who you are and is perfectly fine letting men basically try to torture the "gayness" out of you. It was despicable what she put Keegan through and I appreciated that the author didn't gloss over Keegan's intensive healing process.

I hate to say it, but I think Kerry was right to keep his hands off Keegan for as long as he did. Keegan had to heal, and Kerry also had to come to terms with having genuine feelings for a person for the first time. It was obvious these two were sweet on each other for awhile, but the timing was never right...until now.

The close relationship between Keegan and Sven, Kerry's stepbrother, was a big highlight. They seem so different in personality on the surface, but you can tell how much they both value their friendship. Sven's also a bit overprotective of his bestie and his "undercover" antics were a hoot! I'm so happy that we get his story next and I can only imagine the shenanigans sure to follow!

Keegan’s HEA🩷

Ahhh the beautiful soul that is Keegan finally got his well deserved HEA. This sweet boy had been to hell and back thanks to his evil mother bringing him up in the cruel Salvation Anew cult and punishing him for being gay including conversion therapy. When Keegan was finally rescued he was close to death and mentally scarred but with the love all the guys at Redemption Ranch gave him when Cash took him in, he was getting better all the time and therapy was helping.

Keegan had been crushing on Kerry for 18 months and had no idea that Kerry felt the same, although he hid it well. He had a very difficult earlier life, the loss of his sister when he was 8 and his father died soon after and so he had built walls around his heart. It took Sven, Keegan’s friend and Kerry’s stepbrother, to manipulate the situation and throw them together and they were perfect together.

I enjoyed the storyline running alongside their romance and the outrageous Sven had me lol. I cannot wait to read about him and Kerry’s best friend Dom who is a PI. Sven was perfect as his backup on surveillance and took the whole disguise thing to another level😂 They obviously have history with Sven acting like he can’t stand Dom and Dom finding Sven amusing.

Highly recommend.

Enjoyable Romance, But a Bit Messy in Execution

I’ve really enjoyed all the books in this series, and A Beautiful Mess was no exception when it came to the chemistry—Keegan and Kerry were fun, engaging main characters with a romance that hit all the right notes. The pining and angst were 10/10.

That said, I had a few issues that pulled me out of the story. First, the names “Keegan” and “Kerry” were just too similar—I constantly had to pause and figure out whose POV I was reading. That confusion was made worse by the fact that both voices sounded so alike. There wasn’t enough distinction between the two characters’ internal narratives.

Another challenge was the reliance on previous books in the series. While I don’t believe these are marketed as standalones, this one leaned heavily on backstory from earlier installments without providing much context. The writing often assumed you remembered everything about past side characters and plotlines, which made the reading experience feel more vague and disconnected than it needed to be.

Overall, the romance delivered, but the structure and pacing made it harder to stay immersed. A solid read, just not my favorite in the series.

Sixth in series (Redemption Ridge), best if read in order. Found family. Slow burn. Dual POV.

Self-proclaimed playboy Kerry doesn’t do relationships, he has lost loved ones and doesn't want to experience that heartbreak again, so he runs his rescue business and works as a bartender and is fine with a revolving door of hookups. Until the night Kerry meets Keegan and now he has to decide if he can lower the walls around his heart for the one person that makes him feel joy and wants to always make happy. Keegan has had a difficult past, but he knows he wants Kerry any way he can get him, and after all his pining he is surprised when Kerry finally decides he’s all in and absolutely accepts Keegan as his special person.

This story is low angst and sweet, where it's understandable that it has taken some time for Keegan and Kerry to build a relationship and once they do it is spicy and emotional. The yearning, the absolute certainty once they are together, and the ease of being together all worked for me with these two characters. 4.5 rounded up

I have been waiting for Kerry and Keegan's story and this book did not disappoint. We were introduced to both men in previous books and have been able to see a bit of character development in those books. Kerry came off as very lighthearted with no worries but this book delves deeper into his psyche an due see that he has unresolved issues due to his sister's murder and his father's subsequent death. He has a fear of letting people in and then losing them. He puts all his time into his emergency rescue business and hookups until he met Keegan 18 months ago. The timing wasn't right for them with Keegan recovering from the abuse he suffered at the hands of a religious cult. However, since then Keegan has gone to therapy to help his mental health and he finally feels ready for a relationship and wants that with Kerry.I love how their relationship develops over time and how Kerry opens up to Keegan regarding his own mental health issues and how they worked thru their problems to come out a stronger couple. This book has all the feels and is well worth reading.

4.5 Stars!

I was very intrigued about Keegan and Kerry since I read The Keeper, and while technically you can read this book as a standalone, I suggest reading this book first.

I loved Keegan, he was such a sweet guy. I was glad he wasn't a pushover. I liked Kerry, but there were moments in which I wanted to punch some sense into him. The whole wavering about not starting anything with Keegan when it was obvious he was attracted to him, made me want to scream. Thankfully, it didn't take him forever to get his head out of his shapely behind. The chemistry between them was electric, and everyone knew they would be as perfect for each other as they ended up being.

Now I'm super curious about sassy Sven and the enigmatic Dom, the sparks were flying between them in this book.

Overall, a great addition to the series! Fast-paced, action-packed, fun, and steamy, with a conflict thrown in for good measure which gladly didn't affect our heroes. Very recommendable!

We've seen Keegan through a lot when he escaped from an abusive, homophobic cult and his horrific mother. Now, he's had time to begin to heal and build a better life for himself. In talking to his therapist, he's shared that he's ready to start dating and live a life of his authentic self. He's always been highly attracted to Kerry, a member of the family that owns Redemption Ridge.

Kerry has lost a lot in his life, including his murdered sister and his father, who later died of heartbreak. Kerry can't take the loss of another important person, so he just hooks up and avoids commitment, although if he were to commit to anyone, it would definitely be Keegan.

This book starts out roughly with both men not sure if and how they can move things forward. Also, Keegan owns a highly successful search-and-rescue company that contracts with various municipalities in the area. Unfortunately, now he's being sued unjustly.

This story has warm, supportive friends and family, small amounts of danger, high heat, and a beautiful forever love. Very enjoyable!

The Beautiful Mess, sixth book in the RR series is best read in order.

I was so happy to get Keegan's story. We met him early in the series, and my heart ached for him.

After escaping the abusive cult, Salvation Anew, Keegan was determined to reclaim his sexuality and his life. In many ways, Keegan seemed young and innocent, but that would be mostly due to his upbringing.
Kerry is a self-proclaimed playboy who has closed off his heart after the loss of his sister and father.
With the help of therapy and good friends (more like family), Keegan has decided to go after what he wants, and what he wants is Kerry. Kerry's draw to Keegan is undeniable and after months of trying to fight it, he finally gives into his feelings.

What Mrs Walker has given us is a beautiful slow burn romance, with a side of outside drama.
If you're looking for a series that will leaving you falling in love with love, then I definitely suggest this series.
I can't wait for Sven and Dom's story.

DNF - I really hate stories where the reason main characters "can't" be together is one of them insisting he's not the right person for the other. Who the hell he thinks he is to decide this for someone else? Arrogant, overbearing, idiotic.. Take your pick!

And of course, Kerry doesn't want to give Keegan anything, but he also doesn't want him to get it somewhere else, and — and this is the real cherry on this shit sundae – he doesn't even allow him to withdraw, to spend less time in his company.. That's either unbelievably stupid or downright cruel, and I am a fan of neither.

So I'm out of here before my blood pressure skyrockets so high I'll never get it down again. If you don't mind this plot device (and extremely interfering friends and family members), go ahead and enjoy!

I'd like to do the same but all my reading pleasure was brutally assassinated by that idiot. Let's hope for greener pastures elsewhere..

This book has to be read after the previous Redemption Ridge books or you won't understand the story behind.

This is a fairly slow burn book as it takes a good while for Kerry to understand that despite what happened in the past he can open his heart for love. For me it took a bit too long, especially as his change of heart and jealousy moved then suddenly quite quick.

Keegan is discovering how to live his life and how to fall in love. He is trying hard to either ignore Kerry or try to get him to notice him. It's a bit of a push and pull and for a while the story felt quite strained.

They do fit well together, the chemistry is defintiely there and Kerry is abolutely lovely towards Keegain when he finally gets his head out of his behind. It's great to see how Keegan grows his confidence as well.

I like the secondary story line about Kerry's business, his worries and issues. It was also a great introduction to Dom and I hope my feelings about him and Sven will come true.

A Joyfully Jay review.

4 stars

This is the sixth book in the Redemption Ridge series and, though each book is centered around a different couple, they do need to be read in order. The through plot comes up again and again, and even though the major secondary storyline is resolved, it resonates here. Keegan has been a side character since the beginning, and part of his story is told in an earlier book. Kerry first made an appearance in book three, and he’s also tied to other plot lines within the series.

Both of the MCs have a whole world of trauma behind them. This story is a bit of a slow burn where the romance is concerned.

I’ve attached to the characters in the series, and I’ve been loving seeing them all find their happily ever after.

I was so happy to get Keegan and Kerry’s story. Their chemistry was an untapped mine dying to reveal its secrets. Keegan has been through so much, but I love his strength and resilience. Kerry has lived through his own trauma following the death of his sister and the fallout of subsequent events, shutting down his emotional attachments to anyone other than his family. Kerry’s family, especially Sven, have all but adopted Keegan, already knowing he’s one of them. Kerry may be reluctant, but he’s not immune to Keegan’s charms, and Keegan wants to be there for Kerry as he and the Hart’s Creek rescue business Kerry owns take on a ruthless liar making false allegations. This one is a little lighter, with a bit more laughter and some fun shenanigans (thanks Sven and Dom). It delivers on the HEA and promises another amazing book on the horizon.

Kerry and Keegan are like chocolate and peanut butter, absolutely made for each other.

We’ve all fallen for sweet Keegan who is braver than most and is carving out a beautiful life for himself. And that life includes Kerry. Kerry is a man who has dedicated his life to helping others but keeps his heart locked up after too much battering. And his life is taking a beating again at the moment.

Surrounded by loving friends and family who have strong connections and are loyal to their core, these two find their way to taking a leap together.

I anticipate a run on cue cards after reading this story (iykyk). So bloody cute!

So happy Keegan got his HEA

This is a series that you really need to read in order to understand the characters' backgrounds and what they've been through. Keegan has been present since the first book and Kerry's family's tragedy is recounted in the previous book, The Keeper.
Both men have deep trauma and walls sky high and I liked that it wasn't insta-love between them because that wouldn't have rung true for them. I loved how Kerry, once he got his head out of his arse, was fully commited to Keegan and showed him the respect and the love he deserved.
Kerry's family was a bit overbearing, with all the not-at-all subtle hints and over-the-top match-making, but I liked the story line about Kerry's business.
I missed the ranch inhabitants and all the fun and banter between them, but Sven did his best to make up for that just by being him. I can't wait for his and Dom's story next.

Another excellent couple, this has been such a great series. Keegan has been a favorite of mine throughout and it was especially lovely to see him finally have the happy ending he deserves. I maybe wish Kerry didn’t drag his feet so long with the whole - I want you but I’m no good for you thing. I’m not a big fan of the generally. So, I was rooting for Kerry to allow himself some happiness and let Keegan in for real. I loved their chemistry and connection all along and seeing it finally come together was a very satisfying journey. These two characters have so much pain in their past, so I loved the lightness of their epilogue. I especially loved seeing Kerry embrace his romantic side, these two were pretty wonderful together. Can’t wait for Sven and Dom, they have fun chemistry!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This is book 6 in the series and I recommend you read the series in order as the same characters are throughout. Kerry has his rescue business, working as a bartender and loving his huge family. After losing his sister and father when he was a teenager, he has closed himself off to love. When he meets Keegan, things started to change. Keegan has been through a lot in his life, and with years of therapy, has started to feel better about himself. When he first met Kerry, he was smitten but had a lot to work through. When he and Sven went out one night, Kerry stopped Keegan from going out with someone. The story starts from there with them realizing that they have found their person. Love the world building, great heat and chemistry between them. Cannot wait to read the next one in the series. It will definitely be a blast.
