Dive into a world of magic, divine love, and the cataclysmic shift of the ages.

The hand of the gods stretches across worlds.

Sirethan was supposed to be a fantasy world. It wasn't supposed to be real. It wasn't supposed to merge Evie's soul with an elven woman a universe away--but the magic of Aurora's Rift transcends everything we think we know. There is no going back.

Now, Earth-born Evie has become Lithrial, an elf raised by her grandfather in the slums of Sirethan's largest human city, and even the whispers of Aurora's Rift's return spark bloodshed in the streets.

Home is always waiting--sometimes where you least expect.

When Aurora's Rift splits the sky and triggers Lithrial's first ascension as a mage, the rift marks her twinned souls as its own--and this does not go unnoticed. From a beautiful and magnetic stranger who bears the name of a god to the elder elementals who seldom engage with the wider world, Lithrial's name is now on everyone's lips. A whisper of an awed blessing, the poisoned bite of a curse.

Elves in Sirethan are already a target of the humans' One God and his Purifiers, but an elf rumoured to be able to harness the power of Aurora's Rift? No threat could compare to the danger.

Aurora’s Rift demands heroes to shape what comes next.

It is the anvil upon which their mettle is tested.

It is the arena in which they will wrest a future from the ashes of the past.

ARC review
It took me some time to get into the story; I am not really a gamer and I definitely have a form of aphantasia. But halfway through I was hooked! I love the characters, everyone really has their own personality. The story got more and more interesting and had me on the edge of my seat!
I can't wait to continue reading the trilogy!

Mysterious from the first page, this book gripped me and did not let go! I loved the premise of the story, and felt the author executed it wonderfully! At times I, like the FMC forgot that she was in a video game, but then she realises and reminds us.
The author truly captured what I believe falling into a video game would be like, the disbelief and wonder. And the play-through felt true to many games that I have played myself! Following the FMC through her self discovery was enlightening and fun. With a beautifully diverse cast of characters around her, and a rich world for events to take place in.
The development of romance was in the background and felt natural in its development and pacing, with the cliffhanger truly setting the reader up with a thirst to continue the trilogy!

Thank you to the author for an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

The book takes me back to the time when I played a lot of WOW - World of warcraft.

A very interesting perspective that whoever plays the game takes on the role of the character you choose to play with both in appearance and remembers everything that hears the past at the same time, you are still you on the inside.

Ferelthin.....I didn't expect that. 😃
What a cliffhanger. I'm lucky enough to be able to read the next book right now and not have to wait. I want to know what happens next.

A very good and eventful book. I give it 4⭐️

Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your team. ❤️

I am so invested in this book, I feel connected to the author so much through this book. They seem to have so many aligning opinions that have made their wait into the story and I find myself nodding along to all of them. It's such a rich world and the way things are described makes me feel them too, I feel the heartache of making decisions that hurt but have to be made and the feeling of home somewhere you didn't know you belonged. I'm so excited for the next book!

I saw this author on Tik Tok where they were asking for ARC readers and I was intrigued by the premise for the book so I applied and was lucky enough to be accepted.

I watch a lot of Anime where the Protagonist gets dropped in to another world, I read a lot of fantasy and I am surrounded by family who are gamers so I was anticipating a good reading experience and I must say I was not disappointed at all. Riftsworn gave me exactly what I love, the world is beautifully written to the point where you can mentally see what is happening. The explanations for the world and magic system were so well done that I felt like it was the introduction to a game, immersive but not so complex that it was off putting.

I worry sometimes when authors specifically talk about the diversity in their books because a lot of them shoehorn it in to make themselves seem relevant to their readers and it takes away from the character and their stories. However this was not the case with Emmie’s writing, the characters are endearing and sensitively portrayed. There joy, love, struggles and the adversity they face is believable and you are invested in them because of this.

I enjoyed Riftsworn so much that I also bought the physical copies of the whole Trilogy and I will also be looking at Emmie’s other books.

First things first, English is not my motherlanguage (I’m German), but I have to say the writing style, words and structure makes it really easy and comfortable to read. I’m sill an experienced English reader, but I can definitely say, it’s really good written also for readers that may be not so used to read in English.

Now to the story. The beginning was a bit unusual for me, being thrown into the protagonist creating a game character. For me it could have been an easier start with a prolog before her being in the *game*, but that’s just my personal preference.
I really liked some dnd vibes i got from some scenes and how the protagonist had her problems differentiate between the two versions of her (the real one and the elven one) at the beginning. Her character development in the book was nicely written and understandable. I sometimes had the feeling of the author putting something from herself in the book and developing with the protagonist all together from whatever she experienced in reality, which made it feel more emotional and personal. I really liked that.
The world building was well made, easy to follow and not to much information all at once, due to learning with the protagonist about this world. I loved the different companions, especially Teinath and Ferelthin. Speaking of Ferelthin, I really haven’t seen that plot twist coming.
I’m really curious what will happen in the next book, mainly about the main plot and Ferelthin. Thank you so much Emmie Mears, that I was able to read it as an e-Arc!

It’s been a long time since I’ve discovered a fantasy book that takes all my expectations and surpasses them. Whatever box I had expected this book to fit nicely inside of has completely been shattered in the best of ways. The concept of Riftsworn feels so…fresh, while keeping the elements I love most about the Fantasy genre intact.

We start as Evie, a human working for a game developer testing out a revolutionary new game—but as Evie, we quickly become Lithreal, an elf who lives in a world dominated by humans and an unjust, cultish religion who hates anything ‘other.’

This book has found family, mythical creatures, magic abilities, a chosen one storyline with an unlikely hero. The slow-burn romance is just icing on the cake—but it’s so much more than that. This book had me feel like I was inside Skyrim! The characters are fleshed-out, relatable, and diverse. I fell in love with all of them for very different reasons.

Emmie Mears is a wonderful writer. Her way with words deeply immerses you in the story. There is such amazing detail given to the worlds she paints and the sensations and emotions she describes in each character.

I highly recommend this book.

Received an ARC of the trilogy, but I'm not one to let that sway my opinion. Rated my last ARC a 2 and that was me being generous.

Basically read the book in two days, once I really got going I didn't want to put it down. The only reason I'm not starting the next book is that it's Basically 8am and I've been up reading all night.

Lithrial/Evie is a painfully relatable protagonist and the world is both familiar and new at the same time. But not familiar in a way that I find jarring. Its comforting, easier to really sink into it like a favourite fluffy blanket.

My red flag is that I'd play Aurora's Rift if given the chance. Hang the consequences, let's go!

My only criticism is it could have been longer. I'd take another 100 pages or more in book one quite easily. More fleshing out of things. Useless side bits, Basically just more Riftsworn. My only real complaint. Which is a good one. Right?

I want more. Good thing I have the next book waiting for me to sleep!

This book is a roller-coaster from start to finish, you have Evie a human who enters this magical world she thinks is a game but little does she know this game is now her new reality. Anyways back to the magical game where she starts her life as Lithrial an elf she has chosen out of the selection process at the start, with her new family and off she goes into this epic adventure where she finds her powers , battles against massive spiders, Elementals and other mystical beings. Oh and her powers are linked to a rift Aurora's rift to be exact. She leads a rebellion and saves thousands of people along the way.
This incredible story is just the first of a trilogy my Emmie Mears and I absolutely cannot wait to dive into the next book!

This is the first book in the Aurora's Rift Series. I am obsessed! This book feels a bit like an Isekai themed D&D campaign! Gathering the party members who each have their own unique skills to bring to the table. Growing and levelling up and learning new skills. Discovering party members back stories as events unfold. Even referring to the city leaders as speakers reminds me of Ten Towns, where my D&D character Emily comes from, and her adoptive father is a speaker.

If this series was made into a D&D campaign, I would jump at the chance to play!! I just can not express enough how much I enjoyed and loved this book. And the ending just blew my mind! I had a feeling there was something more to Ferelthin than meets the eye, and my instincts proved me right.
I am jumping straight into book two!

Alright, diving into "Riftsworn," you're hit with a pretty cool world that Emmie Mears has cooked up. It's got all the magic and chaos you'd hope for, with some neat lore sprinkled throughout that makes you want to dig deeper.

The head girl here has some solid moments where you're rooting for her, but sometimes it feels like the story's dragging its feet a bit, you know? There are parts where you wish things would pick up some speed. And while the side characters bring some good flavour to the table, I wanted a bit more from them—like, let's get into their heads a bit more!

So, yeah, it's a decent ride with "Riftsworn." It's not mind-blowing, but it has enough spark to keep you turning the pages. Perfect for a lazy weekend when you’re up for some fantasy but not looking for anything too heavy.

I was lucky enough to be one of the first people to receive the arc for this beautiful trilogy and I am beyond grateful. Reading this book has brought me so much joy and being able to speak to the author about it was insane to me! Emmie you are insanely talented and I hope you never stop writing because I adore your writing style and these books.

This book was incredible from start to finish. The world building and magic system combined my love for cosy gaming and fantasy in the best way possible. I love each and every one of the characters and their stories. I cannot wait to dive deeper into to the world of Sirethan and the auroras rift trilogy.

A belated ARC review.

This is such an interesting book!
I gotta say, I have never read anything like this before, nor have I played any video games, so it was a new subgenre for me. I was still able to follow everything easily, so don't let that put you off of reading this book.

I love the MC and the world she gets to explore.
The mysteries are mysterious, the magic is magical, the non-human species are different enough, and the religion that makes everyone's life hard is not something we have never met....

The mix of all of this elements sets up a story that will make you want to read the next books in the series!

And tbh, it really made me want to play this game!!!

The novel draws heavily on DnD lore, and not being a DnDer myself, I had to look a few things up.
The novel takes its time in setting the stage and giving its main characvter a sense of false security before pulling the rug from under her feet. And then the storm hits. To avoid any spoilers, if you like the isekai genre of escapism and dream of entering the books you read, this one is for you. Mears has a main character basically write herself into her favourite world, a fantasy many of us share.

I loved the magic system in this book and the concept of being literally stuck in a game world. I feel like this was a slow to get into book by the middle of the book, I was hooked and felt like it was moving at a faster pace, which I enjoyed.

The magic system seems complex and well presented which I love the world building is beautiful and while the character development is predictable in some places I still love each character indevidualy and getting to see how the change and grow over the course of the book

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series

I was one of the lucky ones to receive this book as an arc, and was not disappointed!
This book is Lord of the Rings meets Avatar with a massive dose of personality. The world building is seamles and the characters are alive in your mind. The plot starts a slow build and once the drama starts it does not stop, I think I held my breath for a full ten chapters! Thoroughly looking forward to seeing what the future holds for the Riftsworn!

DNF at 59%

I couldnt get in to the writing style, I did like the concept of the main character being in a virtual game that's become reality but that was about it. I felt.nothing for any of the characters, I could really visualise what people looked like or what was going on in the story. I struggled reading till 59% and then I realised I wasn't enjoying it so decided to just give up. I'm sorry I hate DNF-ing a book but it just wasn't for me.

This is the first time I’ve read a book like this where reality and gaming come together.
I don’t like to put spoilers in reviews so I will say I love Ferelthin, even though his plot was predictable for me.
Over all it’s a good story, I found the magic system a little confusing but it didn’t ruin the enjoyment for me.

Honestly once I started fully paying attention and remembering which character was who, it was hard to put the book down or think about something else. A lot of the descriptions remind me of Tolkien with the detail and weight put behind them. It’s a beautifully written book and I love that once it gets going it keeps going. And that ending??? Ok straight to book2!

First time reading this author and was lucky enough to be gifted the trilogy of this book. At first was a bit confused but as I read on I got what was going on. Story follows Evie who is playing a game but some how finds herself inside the game. It is a story of the weak overpowering the powerful. Starting book two to see what happens

This book was marketed to me as a lover of Solas in the Dragon Age series. It didn’t disappoint. It has a whole new cast of characters and a world that you can get lost in. I’m really looking forward to reading the next two books in the series. It was unique enough hold my attention, and the descriptions of the world was easy to visualize. Loved it enough to binge read!!

DNF

I struggled to keep this book in my hand. I will try again at a later date this year to give it a decent go.

After a month of trying to read the book, feeling confused and overwhelmed with not understanding where the book was I DNF’d my first book.

I feel horrendous and this is why it’s on my to 2nd attempt read list but sadly I really struggled and DNF this book

I was expecting not to like this book when I was lucky enough to be sent an ARC, but I was very wrong. The line between reality and game blurred, it all feels real. The world, the story, the action, is all well written and thought out. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. I am hooked.

I got an arc of this book, and I can honestly say it's a good well written book, storyline is okay.

Since the day I got it, I tried to read it all, but just couldn't get past half way. I managed to finish it today & glad I did.

The story got better, but not just my kind of book to keep reading.
