Get to know this Jesus by joining beloved author and Bible teacher Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth on a fifty-day journey, inspired by J. Oswald Sanders’ classic volume, The Incomparable Christ, to explore His one-of-a-kind story. From heaven to earth. From birth to death. From resurrection to right this minute. From before time to all time.
In these meditations, you’ll spend time reflecting on the person of Christ—His humanity, divinity, childhood, adulthood, and more. You’ll consider the work and words of Christ. And you’ll contemplate His preexistence, prayer life, majestic silence, anguish, atoning work, post-resurrection ministry, and promised second coming.
Find in Jesus—fully God and fully Man—everything you will ever need. He alone is able to save you to the end and understands you to the core. Able to forgive and befriend you, challenge and change you.
This book can be used at any time of the year but serves as an ideal devotional companion for the season leading up to and immediately following Easter.
As you walk through these days, you will be reminded that there is no one else like Jesus. He is quite simply . . . Incomparable .

I’ve never done an “Easter” devotional. This one was exceptional! I loved that each day was an attainable amount of reading and the content was well thought through. I highlighted a lot and I’ll definitely be revisiting this study in the future 🥰
This study could certainly be done at any time of the year, but I do think it’s best for the time frame given in the introduction (6 weeks before Easter Sunday).
What makes Jesus so unique? In Incomparable, Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth takes you on a journey of 50 days with Jesus.
A Compelling Picture of Christ
Through short yet insightful devotionals, Wolgemuth takes you to the heart of Christ. She shows him as fully God and fully man, surprising us with his wisdom and grace. Perfect and holy, yet compassionate and kind.
This book is grounded in Scripture. Wolgemuth sticks to the Bible to show us who Jesus is. She doesn’t wander away from what the text actually says. I was surprised at how we can have such a compelling picture of Christ through the Spirit’s illuminating word.
Spend More Time with Christ
I was most moved to read of Jesus as a child. To think about Christ having to grow up just like everyone else made me wonder what he was like. I thought of my own children, thinking that Jesus was once their age. I hope to encourage my students and children to pursue God especially during their most formative years.
This book made me want to spend more time with Christ. Getting to know Jesus through Wolgemuth’s words is incredibly inspiring. I am moved to worship and motivated to love him more, eager for the day when I can meet him face to face.
I received a media copy of Incomparable and this is my honest review.
I enjoyed reading this book aloud with my husband during the spring season leading up to “Resurrection Sunday” and afterwards. It’s a beautifully written and published book by Nancy Leigh DeMoss Wolgemuth and the Revive our Hearts team.
This book has been a total blessing to me in the Lent / Easter season. Nancy writes clearly and is always pointing us to Jesus and how wonderful He is. This 50 day journey allowed me to slow down enough to ponder each day on just how incomparable He really is.
Read during Lent 2024. I love Nancy and all the work she does bringing the truth of Scripture to us. There were a few things in here which I disagreed with (nothing to part ways over, just in-house theological differences) but overall it was a beautiful book. I didn't give 5 stars because I'm not a devotional-style person. They tend to irritate me and make me feel trapped by the "must only read the pages today" format. But hey, I actually finished!
Incomparable is set up as a devotional but it’s more than an inspirational thought of the day. As you consider Jesus ministry on earth, it equips you to take those truths and have your life be affected and changed because of it.
This is a timeless book, but I chose to read it during the 40 days leading up to Easter and the 10 days after to prepare my heart during the Easter season. This book helped me appreciate Jesus in a whole new way.
Incomparable took me on deeper journey on discovering who Jesus is. We can’t figure out Jesus completely, or He wouldn’t be amazing and incomparable. So we have to take a lot by faith, but as we do, we marvel and worship the incomparable Christ.
“If Jesus is anything less than fully human and fully divine, He is not enough for us.”
Nancy connects to the reader in a way that is life-giving and life-changing. When you focus on Christ, you will be changed.
This book opened my eyes to the truths of Christ I had never thought about before. I read this during the Lenten season and a week after Resurrection Sunday, which Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth encourages, though it isn't required. This can be read at anytime of the year. I also followed along on the Revive Our Hearts podcast. As a believer, I already knew the reasons why Christ came and died for us, and rose again. But soon after reading Incomparable, I realized how little I truly valued Jesus' willingness to come down physically and take part in our human weaknesses, yet without sin. I was humbled when I learned that Jesus' agonizing prayers in the Garden of Gethsemane were not only on a physical level, but spiritual as well. I rejoice knowing He is still at work today. As I go through many trials, this book is a reminder that Jesus does see and make intercession for me. In the meantime, I long for His second coming, and pray to persevere!
I enjoyed this 50 day devotional that you can begin the first Sunday of the Lenten season, and ending seven days after Easter. The daily readings were short, maybe 10 minutes, all focused on our incomparable Savior. It’s easy, as someone who has celebrated over 40 Resurrection Sundays, for the time of year to become rote, a time to invite to church those who don’t regularly attend, to help facilitate the extra activities of Holy Week and Easter Sunday, to work on special music for the holiday, but not think deeply about the person of Jesus, the depth of his sacrifice, or his astonishing love. I appreciated these 50 days to focus on Him and all He has done for me.
Of course, this devotional would be wonderful at any time of year, not just the Easter season.
Absolutely terrific! Jesus is center stage, as He should be! I just loved this book as a family devotional. We dove so deep into who Jesus is, and I loved it! Thank you, once again, Nancy!!
This is by far the best written devotional I’ve read. It has so much depth and draws you into a more deeper personal relationship with our Savior. From beginning to end you will come to know, love and worship Him more. This is one book I will read every year to remind myself of all that Christ is. My Incomparable Christ! Thank you to Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth for your service unto to Him!
Highly encourage this read before Holy Week! The daily reads are perfect boosts for your day as you prepare your hearts for Resurrection Sunday. This Bible study gave me many notes to put in my Bible. Full of valuable information that will help you understand the personhood of Christ.
