"Sheesh... What happened to all that spunk a second ago, huh? What utter bullcrap... You punks ain't got the luxury to worry 'bout anythin' else but your own damn lives. You guys here are just seconds away from bein' annihilated, just like the guys at the park. Your men can't hold us off forever. It's over. You guys are done."
Bofurin members are in trouble. The enemy broke through the park and things are becoming more serious than ever. How can they fight with a clear mind when there is a feeling of fear for the wellbeing of the town they all love?
"They practically sworn enemies... aren't they?"
Before I will dive into a deeper talk about this volume I want to say that I love the enemy turned ally trope with all my heart. So many people have a different opinion about it, saying that an enemy should just be an enemy, and feeling that the change of heart is lame and unrealistic, but for me it's something truly beautiful and precious and should be explored more in all kinds of stories.
"Sooo sorry about that, as got lost finding our way here. The heroes are here to save the day, Sakura."
The scream of delight that came out of my throat when the big three had showed up at the battlefield had to be heard in the whole building I'm living in. I love such cool entrances like this! It made me so excited for the next chapters and, honestly, it also made me feel a deep amount of relief, because we (finally) got some help in fighting the dangerous enemy. And I know that these guys are strong. Probably even stronger than before, considering the big change they went through before that made them broke three from all the boundaries they pulled on themselves. You might think that it wasn't anything amazing, that things like this happen notoriously, but for me who's a person having difficulties finding a story that I could deeply immerse myself in (and with it, having difficulties to find characters I could fall in love with), it's a moment I'm always eagerly waiting for and I'm embracing it with the warmest hug. And truly, it's also something that gives me hope that miracles can happen and that people can actually change for the better. It's such a pure joy to witness it (and an euphoric feeling as well, if not triumphant).

"Oh? Sakura, huh? I better give my name too, then."
"There's really no need. It's not like I'll even remember it."
The second trope that I love with all my heart and was shown in this volume is the big brother/the protector trope. It's something I was ALWAYS weak for, because I love when one character does something that changes another characters world and since then that character is fully devoted/loyal to the other. It's something I was lucky to witness a couple of times and I hope to see more of it in the future. We might argue about it, but for me personally it's something better than a romance :)
"I'm not a good fighter because I wanted to be! I just want to like the things I like. I don't want to lie to myself, and I don't want to lie to everyone around me. I just want the freedom to be myself."
I love how with his story, Tsubakino's an example of a person fighting to stay true to themselves, no matter what others say. It's very relatable, and I hope that he will become a very positive influence to others. His journey is painful to witness, to see him fighting all the criticism and hate, and to see him cry because of it, but there is also a bright light in the darkness - he learned to be courageous to protect himself and what he loves. Also, he fought all the blind hate by himself for quite a long time, but there came a person that finally understood him and encouraged him more to fight for himself. He never thought he looked for a savior, doing his best to count only on himself, but his prince came anyway.
You're my one regret. You've placed yourself under that lameass who made Furin the weak and pathetic school it is today. You deserve better. That's not a place for you. All I want is to save you!"
Honestly, some people just doesn't know what are they talking about and when to shut up. Noroshi's Genji Sukichi is an example of that, a very funny one I might say, because he thought he could made an impression on Tsubakino, but all he had done was to piss him off. He will not survive long in this fight, will he? ;) I'm looking forward to see his ass being beaten in justice for Umemiya! ;)
Anyways, I had so much fun reading this volume and I hope to have even more fun reading the next one. Things are looking better for our heroes, but what will happen when Endo and Takiishi join the battle? How strong are they, really? We will (maybe) see in the next volume! ☺️

6/26/24: ch. 146
I know I always complain about living chapter to chapter on different manga/manhwa series, but this one is ACTUALLY going to be the death of me. It was only like 23 pages AND DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH IT MADE ME CRY!! This series makes me too emotional.

as of right now this is my favorite shonen series and I hope it doesn't end up hurting me. Will wait to add the absolute Favorites tag until the series is complete...
Huh ... and just like that, I'm all caught up with every chapter available to me... this series is such a fast read, I feel like I fly through the chapters, probably because there's a Lot of fighting... I really really like the character development in this series... Like, A LOT. I have a lot of other thoughts in my head, but I'm also still trying to process everything. can't wait to see what's going to happen next. (Actually I can, because I'm NERVOUS) because I need to know WHATS HAPPENING ON THE ROOF?!?!
I'm just going to go lay down and wallow in pity because I don't know how long I'll have to wait for a new chapter. And maybe do a re read... ugh, stupid hyperfixation...

Sakura is the best. I love seeing everyone come together and help out, it made me so happy when they first showed up (especially the Shishitoren boys). The last chapter where Tsubakino was beat made me upset, I love him and the way he smiled before being knocked out made me sad (reminds me a little of Nanami but less painful 😭). I really liked Togame in this arc, he really stood out here.

The crisis zone and others who were gonna fall down because the mf Noroshi joined with the gang, the ease finally came to rescue. That was unexpected when Sakura met [...] to ask for help. Wow, Sakura. This is Sakura. The person who wants to be stronger than anyone else. Just to know only fighting and fighting, but now he knows how to make strategy and ask for help. Another chapter, another volume always makes me amaze to Sakura’s growth in Furin.
Tsubakino was in this episode. Dyemn, on fire!! Burn the mf who badmouthing about Umemiya. I’ll join you, Tsubakino! The flashback about Tsubakino met with Umemiya for the first time make me screaming, calming, and heartwarming at the same time :”)

Oh my god Sakura has grown up a lot, He who used to rely on no one, wanted to be bofurins strongest and the leader alone, has now learned and know how to trust and rely on his friends and ain't afraid to ask for help if needed His development is sooo good.
It's also so cute how Togame was so pissed when the Noroshi guy called Sakura a shrimp telling him Sakura's full name and when that guy was about to introduce himself he's like nah I'm not interested hahaha I seriously love Togame. He is just so cool. He basically said that that guy is too weak for Togame to remember his name. Togame is so cool. His character development is great. He is now one of my fav characters in this series. The way Togame respects and loves Sakura, and the same goes for Sakura towards Togame too, man. You can clearly notice that, when Sakura went to ask Togame for help, putting all his trust in him.
SUZURI THE MAN THAT YOU ARE NOW!! BROTHER PULLED UP IN HIS RESTAURANT UNIFORM BECAUSE HE KNEW HE WAS BOUTTA COOK🔥
Tsubaki is such a strong character, I love them a lot. And with every new chapter I realize more than before just how important Umemiya is to everyone. Tsubaki and Umemiya, I think would look good together author nim pls make then Canon. And Y'know shit's about to get real when long hairs are tied up in buns. 💅
THIS. This is very important. Most of the time, we lose our self-confidence because of others' judgement. But our self-worth should always come from within, not from others. You don't need validation from those who need it more than you do. I always thought that it's just a crush because tsubaki downplays it like that. No wonder sakura's romance sensor went off so hard the moment he saw tsubaki and umemiya interacting. It's because tsubaki actually loves umemiya. Their admiration for him isn't shallow as i first thought.

Suzuri, Kanji, Togame, Choji and the whole Shishitoren coming to help Furin made me so happy 😭💖💖 and the fact that they came because Sakura went to see them to request for backup??? MY BOI HAS MATURED SO MUCH HE’S BECOMING MORE AND MORE LIKE A GOOD LEADER 🥹💞💞 it was a bit of a shame that Togame cut his hair because I loved his long hair, but he’s still hot and the way he fought made me giddy all over I LOVE HIS EYES WHEN HE GO CRAZY heh ❤️🔥❤️🔥😮💨

Búa la aparición de Kanji, Togame, Tomiyama y Suzuri (entre otros) no me la esperaba para nada y fue 10/10. Encima dibujada a color… ¿Qué más puedo pedir?
Amé ver como Sakura les pedía ayuda para la pelea. Realmente él es un buenísimo líder.
También, he de decir, que me ha hecho ilusión ver a un enemigo que por fin me ha caído mal. Tipo, me gusta mucho que en este manga exploren tanto el pasado de los personajes y que todos acaben llevándose bien y tal. Pero es satisfactorio ver a un personaje que odias llevarse su merecido. No sé si me explico 😺
Y EL REENCUENTRO ENTRE SUO Y EL CHICO DE SHISHITOREN CON EL QUE PELEÓ JAHSJAHSJQHSJAHDJGASH ICÓNICO.
La pelea de Togame uf>>>>. Amo la amistad que tiene con Sakura, y como lo defiende cuando el enemigo se mete con él.
Luego sale la pelea de Suzuri. Una pelea super top también. Me encanta que a Suzuri se la pela todo y empieza a decirle al oponente que tiene que trabajar al día siguiente JAHSJAHS. Me cae tan bien dios. Nunca pensé que me iba a gustar tanto este personaje, sobre todo porque asumía que no lo volvería a ver, prácticamente.
Y de todos los oponentes que salen en este volumen, el que peor me ha caído ha sido el que se ha enfrentado contra Tsubakino. Uf que pesado q era 💀. Pero ver el trasfondo de como Umemiya y Tsubakino se conocieron me pareció precioso.
De verdad que cada vez que veo a Umemiya de pequeño me derrito. Fue y es tan buena persona 😭😭😭.
En fin, nada más que comentar de este volumen. Las peleas me mantuvieron enganchadísima de lo bien hechas que están.

I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH IT MAKES ME PHYSICALLY ILL. I WANNA HURL FROM THE STRENGTH OF MY LOVE 😭
Okay.
So.
First of all, I’m so blessed to have Jo and Choji back that I could actually weep from happiness. I’ve missed my babies so fucking much…Y’all don’t even know 😩 I needed them back in this series the same way I need to breathe to live. They’re just so special to me 🥺 It really melted me into a little puddle to see them so easily and happily show up to back up Furin in their fight against Noroshi.
I wanted to scream but also giggle and kick my feet seeing Jo talk so positively about Sakura. They really ARE friends fr fr now 😭 I’m so proud of my babies. I just wanna squish their lil faces and give ‘em a big ol’ forehead kiss. I adore them with my heart and soul. My lil feral children 💖 I condone all their actions blindly, like an obliging mother who loves to spoil her naughty children.
Beyond that, getting to read how Ume and Tsubaki met literally had me screeching like a banshee. I SHIP THEM SO BAD. It actually makes me feel insane. I need them to be canon. It’s absolute agony and torture that I have no idea if I’m deranged for even thinking it’s a possibility. I just want to KNOW. I want to KNOW if I’m delusional or if it’s okay to hold this as a cherished and beloved future for my sons. The way the two of them love and support one another is just *ugly cries* It’s just so sweet, and I want endless happiness for my boys. Is that too much to ask? I just don’t know anymore 🫠
Anyway.
I guess it’s back to waiting for the next release of my beloved holy scripture *cough* I mean vol 16 of Wind Breaker.

So.
First of all, I’m so blessed to have Jo and Choji back that I could actually weep from happiness. I’ve missed my babies so fucking much…Y’all don’t even know 😩 I needed them back in this series the same way I need to breathe to live. They’re just so special to me 🥺 It really melted me into a little puddle to see them so easily and happily show up to back up Furin in their fight against Noroshi.
I wanted to scream but also giggle and kick my feet seeing Jo talk so positively about Sakura. They really ARE friends fr fr now 😭 I’m so proud of my babies. I just wanna squish their lil faces and give ‘em a big ol’ forehead kiss. I adore them with my heart and soul. My lil feral children 💖 I condone all their actions blindly, like an obliging mother who loves to spoil her naughty children.
Beyond that, getting to read how Ume and Tsubaki met literally had me screeching like a banshee. I SHIP THEM SO BAD. It actually makes me feel insane. I need them to be canon. It’s absolute agony and torture that I have no idea if I’m deranged for even thinking it’s a possibility. I just want to KNOW. I want to KNOW if I’m delusional or if it’s okay to hold this as a cherished and beloved future for my sons. The way the two of them love and support one another is just *ugly cries* It’s just so sweet, and I want endless happiness for my boys. Is that too much to ask? I just don’t know anymore 🫠
Anyway.
I guess it’s back to waiting for the next release of my beloved holy scripture *cough* I mean vol 16 of Wind Breaker.

La aparición de Tomiyama, Kanji, etc al inicio ha sido top momentos épicos de Wind breaker SIN DUDA. Ya lo he dicho antes pero es que Tomiyama sale poco (siempre hay migajas suyas en X arcos) pero es uno de mis personajes favoritos.
Luego, ha tenido mucho protagonismo Tsubakino, y el que se ha enfrentado a él me parece 💀💀💀 bien merecidos todos y cada uno de los golpes que le ha dado Tsubakino. Tmb el flashback de cuando Tsubakino y Umemiya se conocen ha sido muy cute, ambos personajes son dos de los que más penita me dan siempre porque sus lores son tristes, pero me ha gustado mucho ver cómo se hicieron amigos y saber lo importantes que son los dos a día de hoy en la trama

three stars bc tomiyama choji is my favorite character after my goddess tsubaki. he is seventeen but he is five foot one and bouncy and whimsical. he once almost tore out a guys throat with his canine teeth bc he was super depressed and the guy wanted to give him therapy. he’s not like a supernatural creature or anything he’s just a random teenager who is also jus a girl. it was awesome . i love u choji i need the manga to show u more u r literally jus a girl w rabies but u keep that energy silly style

J'ai adoré le moment entre Togame et Sakura leur relations respire le respect et une amitié profondes. On le vois dailleur quand Togame corrige son adversaire qui critique Sakura !
Togame est un personnage que j'attendais de voir un peu plus exploite ce tome tombe à pic.
On nous montre également comment Umemiya et Tsubaki se sont rencontrés. Un passage émouvant et les scènes sont tellement réaliste malheureusement...

Yay for friends! I kind of had a feeling something like this would happen at some point in the series. That the previous "enemies" would come back to help in some way. It does kind of surprise me that it's now, but then again I'm not that surprised. The odds were very much against Furin, and it was clear that things weren't going all that well.
I am more than surprised that it was Sakura that arranged the help. It's nice to see his character growth in action.

HO. LY. SHIT. TOMIYAMA. TOGAME. SHISHITOREN. SUZURI. KANJI. THEM PULLING UP??? and sakura having the courage to go and ask for help??? bro. amazing. PEAK. it is so great seeing all of them back and seeing the impact sakura left on all of them. AND HOW FUCKING STRONG THEY ARE. like togame is a BEAST. and ofc i always love getting more of tsubakino. he is so cool and wild to see a character like him in manga. very well written and one of my favs in the manga.

El mejor volumen hasta ahora. Siento que debo bajarle una estrella al resto para resaltar que este ha sido magnífico, especialmente por dos cosas:

My favorite volume probably. Togame returns with his short hair and he looks cool af. His character growth AHHH. Literally everyone’s character growth. And Tsubaki and Ume backstory some more. That adult man talking to Tsubaki is kinda creepy but I know they are gonna send him packing for dissing Ume.

This volume went by in a flash, and we’re still not anywhere near done with this battle. A surprising ally has joined Furin, turning the tides and adding familiar faces. It’s a good thing this town is so full of boys that love to fight…and who apparently have iron constitutions. I was amused at the contingent of salarymen - wouldn’t you want to change first? Suits are expensive!

This series is really a delight to me. When I’m reading it I’m always like “what is happening in Japan that there are hundreds of kids in different fight clubs just roaming the streets? The relationships that the characters have which give our “good” guys these desires to be their for their town and each other are nice.
