This series had maybe a total of 10 minutes of glory. The rest was back and forth lack of communication between the main characters. They would be okay and then two words later and they would be hating each other again. I was so over it after three books of the same stuff. Not a bad book but I was ready to be done with it by the time I finished.

Better Bratva Books Out There!
Too many liberties taken for my liking that just made the book unbelievable. The female lead character, Paige, is just childish and annoying throughout. Andrei is a pretty good character who grows throughout, but some of the decisions he makes once again is not the normal Bratva storyline other stories follow. For example, Paige is kidnapped and Talia isn’t killed or even hurt. I kept thinking Paige would mature so during book 3 I got so tired of her whining I would skip 5 chapters at a time just to say I finished the book. Just my opinion, but way better books out there.

Overall a deceit trilogy not my favorite by Brook but still good. My big issue was I think either this could have been a duet or less back and forth by Paige. I would like to have seen where Andrei and Paige worked together in this book vs at odds (more on Paige's side). Paige put her sister above Andrei and IMO made her excuse not to fully trust and work with Andrei. Once I got to the third book I was over all her back and forth. I would still recommend if you love suspense and Bratva storylines.

I don't normally write reviews, especially for ones that I don't finish, but this series has me so irritated. Spoilers for all 3 books, so don't read if you don't wanna know anything.
The first book was pretty good, I rated it 4 stars. I thought it was a pretty solid read, but you know... nothing really special about it. I ended up getting book 2 bc it's KU and well why not?
The second book wasn't as good, Paige turned into an insufferable whiner that was determined to leave one second, and then is "oh so in love" and "could never ever leave my husband because look at this fancy necklace he bought me" the next.
Are you kidding me?
Grow a backbone, dude.
The entire second book is her just going back and forth, but actually not making any decisions at all. And Andrei just gets worse and worse the longer you read. Literally, no redeeming qualities.
I didn't even finish the 3rd book. I got to 37% and called it quits. She finally decided that hubby killing her cousin was the last straw and went to pack a bag (of evening gowns??!?! BC THATS PRACTICAL), but then he walked in and said something along the lines of "please don't leave, if you do I can't protect you". And she's just like mmmm okk and then they screw. That's where I gave up. I just can't with this damn book. I'm honestly so irritated.
Also, Andrei is the literal worst!! He shot his mom in the head, shot his moms lover (sisters' father) in the chest, is talking about shooting his sister (bc God forbid she be upset that both of her parents were killed by her lunatic brother), & he's trying to marry off his high school aged sister-in-law "to protect her". WTF!!!?? And Paige is such a doormat she's just like ok sure sounds good to me as long as you love me and keep buying me shiny jewelry. I've rolled my eyes so many times reading this. I'm surprised they're not stuck.

I just stopped reading.
I can't even with this book .Writer if you don't research at least have some common sense.
Talia in this series is given the magic bullet that misses her every time .And what I mean by that is she basically walks around powerful men and women ,does what she wants all over the place and NOBODY does anything to her . She harms wife,sister,kidnaps ,kills ,has secret meetings and at all times threatened P and baby and everyone is just like oh yea its ok ......this isn't how criminal work . Talia ,Emma, Paige and several others are TSTFL and would have already bitten the dust in first book .
This is the least mafia book I have ever read . You have right hand man all but telling his boss to set wife aside and cheat like a boss would in a typical marriage and have the wife learn her place .To close off his love cause it aint mafia like .His female guard telling his wife ,yea this is how works get your baubles and see how lucky you are and stay in your Lane .Wife back and to with love him gonna leave him love him gonna leave him oh look shiny jewelry!!
Sister that is just stupid ...I can't even. Wife sister goes from this is the life accept it sis to he's a monster I want all the pretties but not the chains ,to ex guard , did brother in law offer you to be boss of another clan ?? No! Leave with ! Let's act like it'll work and no one will try kill us ...As they look over shoulder
Mafia matriarch teaching wife how to swindle husband and be the money grabbing gold digger .
This was arrrrgg. This man did not kill Talia for harming his wife multiple times or any other time .He keeps secret meetings with this woman and acknowledge how dangerous she is yet leaves his wife alone where Talia is and writer plays the dumb card every time she write Talia coming for his wife . And has these secret thought and conversations of I can't allow wife to make me look weak and repeating the mantra love nothing but his mafia ..sick ,weak and very frustrating. It's as if writer wanted to write him as typical mafia man that bangs any women he wants and as usual holds wife up to faithfulness and he lives separately life while wife honors him by staying home and coming out when he whistle for his dog ...but reminded there self that this is supposed to be a romance .
Writer needed to cut this down to one book and be done with this effort because most of these three are fillers of same thing just to keep series going.

The action packed storyline is incredible. The wife of a pakhan tries to separate herself from her husband. The only issue I have is with Paige. I just could not warm up to her. One minute she is alive, strong, decisive. The next minute "whoa is me" and I felt like I wanted her to wake up and smell the f'g coffee. Like I said the premise for the trilogy is really good. But my goodness Paige was just a miserable excuse for a mature woman. She was just too naive.

This is really a review of all three books in the series.
I thought the story was excellent and it was fast paced. I really enjoyed the supporting characters.
However, I’m not sure I actually liked the main two characters very much.
In the last book, I felt like there were bits missing to the story. After all the angst and indecision, suddenly we were barrelling towards a resolution without much of a thought process.
All in all, a good read but could so easily have been a five star with a little editing.

Drawn out. Would not recommend
This series could have easily been two books. There was lots of filler and whining which diminished the characters. By the end I didn’t like either of the main characters. I made it through the last book, but just barely. I would not recommend.

Finally DONE!! I officially can’t with Paige. If there was ever a time I thought a couple was toxic not in a good way it’s these two. Also leave the Bratva? Who does that?!?

Book 3 picks right up, and I wasn’t a big fan Paige. Her attitude that her sister and her baby need her more than they need Andrei was so selfish. And when she made the decision regarding an arranged marriage for her sister, I was irritated and found it so hard to like her. I felt for Emma, she wasn’t a child, and was more smart and mature than Paige. And even after everything, Paige still keeps secrets from Andrei. I will say that as much as she irritated me I was happy when she did walk away from Andrei, he made decisions that put the safety of Paige and their baby in danger. But what I really couldn’t believe was that after everything Talia did to Paige and the threats against Paige and Andrea’s baby he didn’t kill her when he had the chance. Paige should’ve been his first priority, and between that and how he just welcomed Sonya and her men into a home he shared with Paige it didn’t feel like Paige was a priority. So in that moment I agreed with Paige’s decision to leave.
For all of book 3 we see Andrei struggle between his obligations as a husband and being leader of the Bratva, and unfortunately he really messed up and chose wrong. I hated seeing these 2 fight for the first half of the book, then be completely separated for the second half.
This was another great trilogy by Brook, it’s got all the great tropes- mafia, enemies to lovers, betrayal, secrets, action, suspense, and lots of drama. I always enjoy Brook’s books and can’t wait for her next set!

Engaging but Dissapointing - Spoilers
It's a bit unrealistic and corny. It was well written and engaging. However, although I liked it was unique and different the female character just seemed whiny and bratty. This in turned made his last decision made him look fickle and like an enabler. Did he ever even believe in his lifestyle? I get wanting to get out but this part wasn't that well executed.
Her calling him a criminal. She knew this and should have not been so super fickle and brainless at the beginning. Her forcing him to change wasn't cool to me. Love is about acceptance and she made the bad decisions because of initial attraction and his ability to take care of her. Then chit got rral she ran. Then kept talking about running away with his baby. She wasn't very likable.
His issues was being clueless and weak as a patkan. Allowing Talia to not only live but to threaten your wife and unborn child and do nothing. Sad! What type of ruthless criminal are you? Where is the retaliation . Then to repeatedly show her remorse after she kidnapped and tortured your wife. That was unforgivable.

Book 3/3 Bratva
I have to be honest and say the only reason I gave a 4 star for this book is we can’t give 3.5 ones and the reason for marking up was for Andrei’s growth as a character and everything he gave up for Paige.
This could have been a 2 book story as the author was so repetitive on the back and forth with Paige about staying or leaving and that became so boring I started to hate Paige as she was so whiney and sounded so bratty at times when they fought.
She never grew at all she stayed the same with no give whatsoever, I get she was thrust in to this live without any say so but once she gave Andrei the flash drives she could have left and her back and forth became so boring I started skipping her pov.
I know that may sound harsh but I have to be fair in where this book took me, I liked Natasha more than Paige so that will give you an idea and I think the way it ended with Talia was so anticlimactic after everything she did.
The actual storyline behind the main characters about the war and the shoot out at the first wedding etc was actually good but went on too long.
I have read many Bratva books and others wouldn’t have tolerated any of the bull💩 from Talia, Gleb or Kenney they would have been whacked as soon as possible.

What an epic ending!! This was an exciting story from start to finish. There was lots going on with plenty of suspense and heat all throughout the book.
Paige was so much better in this one about sticking with her gut feeling and doing what she needed to do. She finally followed through! I really enjoyed her in this book.
Andrei was quite intense through most of this book and was a tiny but wishy-washy with what needed to be done. I think he was a well done character and was written nicely. It really showed the struggles he was facing with not only the Bratvas but at home as well.
For how long this series was, all 3 books are 300+ pages, it was very well done. Not overly repetitive and it had lots of twists to keep you interested and guessing about what's going to happen. The characters were great with amazing secondary characters that you couldn't help but get attached to. I couldn't put it down and read all three in just a few days. It was an entertaining, emotional, and engaging story that I would recommend to and Mafia/Bratva romance lover.

somewhat anti-climactic
In "Brook Wilder's Deceitful Vows," I was captivated by the author's skillful writing, which painted a vivid world for readers to immerse themselves in. However, the constant back-and-forth between the characters felt like a never-ending tug of war, which personally didn't align with my preferences. The slow-burning tension, while expertly crafted, persisted throughout the majority of the book, leaving me somewhat disappointed by the resolution that required Andrei to relinquish his Bratva legacy to satisfy Paige's desires.
Moreover, the intimate moments in the story left something to be desired, as they came across as somewhat conventional and predictable. Despite its merits, the continuous push and pull dynamic persisted until almost the very end, making the eventual reunion of Andrei and Paige feel somewhat anticlimactic. While "Deceitful Vows" undoubtedly showcases the author's talent, I longed for a more dynamic and emotionally resonant conclusion to this otherwise well-written narrative.

Another 4 1/2 stars
The first book in this series was really promising, then, at some point the author jumped the shark, and introduced storyline about embezzled money. I have no idea where that came from, since I read the books, covered to cover, but that has run throughout the rest of the series. I won’t say more than that, because I don’t want to include any spoilers. I spent most of this book asking, out loud, “How can she be so stupid?” I don’t have an answer to that. This book was dark; I really didn’t find any humor in it like in the first book, when I had a few laugh out loud moments. I wanted to finish the series to see how everything turned out, and I did. But I’m not going to say that there was any sort of logical progression. You may like the book, I’m not going to say it’s horrible, but it just didn’t live up to the promise of the first book in the series.

DNF'D at 40%...Series isn't for me.
I had a rough time with this series. The constant back and forth of Paige leaving and then returning to Andrei. She loves him/she hates him. Andrei loves Paige, but then his duty is to be pahkan and love is a weakness blah blah - endless circles for 3 books! I also hated how everyone hates Paige and doesn't give her respect just because she's "not a bratva princess/wife" "she wasn't born into this life". It's exhausting and not a fun read. The other books were alright and kept me interested. But nothing ever changes and it's more of the same behavior from Andrei as well as Paige. I also really hate Paige's sister. This book is the definition of toxic relationships. Lies. Lies. And more lies. You would think one of the protagonist is good, nope both are toxic for each other. There is HEA in the end but can you really trust a person who lied so much. That is what bothers me so much. There were parts where it seemed like it’s too much erotic, I mean they are fighting and then having swx, it doesn’t seem like a good relationship to me.
Buy the girl something and she’s fine and doesn’t question. That part was so infuriating. I hated the character a lot, and hated Andrei more. And also, who has a baby shower in the first month of pregnancy? The pregnancy seemed to last longer than most. Not sure what the time line of the book actually is. I feel bad for giving a bad review for this book, because I actually liked her other books. Hope I read more wonderful books from her.

Duty without love or passion leaves a person soulless and with no love. Talia was clearly a heartless and extremely flawed person. Her journey was lost from the very beginning; whereas, Paige’s journey was not. She almost lost her humanity. Allowing Andrei to arrange a marriage for her sister and trying to be the dutiful wife caused her crack in her soul. In the end, I enjoyed the storyline. I felt as through Andrei changed the most out of all of the characters. His love for Paige trumped all of the irrational, illogical and unloving acts he learned from his father. The book was a clear win-win and rightfully earned 4.6 stars. These books were my first introduction to Wilder and I plan to read additional books in the future.

A wonderful love story
I feel sorry for Andrei. He worked so hard to protect them all only to be betrayed by everyone. Betrayed by his mother, his sister, and even his wife. None of them understood why he had to do what he had to do. I liked Dimitri in this story Ho stood beside him a as well as Natasha. Paige did love him but she never understood what he was doing. I hope Emma gets back with her guy, but if I don’t read about that then in my head she does and they marry. This certainly was a must read and I love it went through 3 and maybe 4 books. I have found me a new favorite author.
I feel sorry for Andrei. He worked so hard to protect them all only to be betrayed by everyone. Betrayed by his mother, his sister, and even his wife. None of them understood why he had to do what he had to do. I liked Dimitri in this story Ho stood beside him a as well as Natasha. Paige did love him but she never understood what he was doing. I hope Emma gets back with her guy, but if I don’t read about that then in my head she does and they marry. This certainly was a must read and I love it went through 3 and maybe 4 books. The ending
I’m on the fence with the ending. Andrei manipulated Paige anytime she pushed back with either gifts or $3x and she fell for it until she didn’t. IMO she was strong but wasn’t- she said she loved him but her thoughts were different. She honestly gave me the idea that she was bipolar thru out the series.
Andrei was a man obsessed with his enemies so much that he truly couldn’t see what he was doing to his family was wrong. I understand that was how he was raised, but it’s hard to believe that once the fighting was over that he wouldn’t go into a depressive state.
Enjoyed the 5 year epilogue

My first time reading this author and a bit on the fence about whether I'd read another one. Its been a while since i read the first 2 because I wasn't overly in love with the characters but eventually came back to it just because I wanted to see how it ended. It was well written ,I just didn't bond with the characters or find myself rooting for them the way I normally would. Plus I found the ending a bit anti climatic. Another review said this wasn't their favourite by this author which makes me think I probably will pick up another book by this author at some point and give it another try but this series isn't on my list of books that I would re read

not my cup of tea
I am personally not into the change him kind of books. I am personally into that. She becomes a bad bitch and stands by his side kind of books. This was just not for me. I was hoping she would eventually fit into her queen energy, and she just never dead. She was always so morally stuck on her moral high ground unless it benefits her and I was so confused why she always had such VIM for her husband. She isn’t my favorite FMC she was annoying and I hated her sister. If I could give less than 1 star I would.

Deceitful Bond (Barinov Bratva book 3) by Brook Wilder is a 4 ⭐️ read.
Paige wants out of the Bratva so she’s making plans, she wants her husband to leave too but that’s not as easy as she thinks.
Andrei’s enemies are coming at him and he knows he needs to end it all. His life with Paige is hanging on by a thread, he wants to keep her and their child but he might need to just let her go.
This is the final book and while I mostly loved it I was a little disappointed in the ending even though they got their HEA.

Overall a good read!
Paige’s back and forth and always wanting to leave got on my nerves to the point that I debated on finishing reading. But the book continuously pulls you back in and makes you anticipate how it will end, so I pulled through and finished it. Overall a good read but I have read better Mafia Romance. I saw a few characters that I hope get their own story and make me look forward to reading more of the Authors writing. Overall I’d rate the series 4/5 would recommend to others.

I’m struggling to finish this series. I think I just need to walk away, because this is irritating. Paige is annoying and so all over the map I lose the storyline half the time. She makes one stupid decision after another and quite frankly she’s a depressing character and has gotten worse throughout the series. Andrei is better but also too many dumb decisions. The other characters in the book aren’t really likeable and have zero depth. I think I just need to cut my losses and move on. This was a disappointment.

I have read quite a few series on the Bratva, and there are situations, but this one was back-and-forth, back-and-forth, back-and-forth, trusting, not trusting, wishy-washy. Just seem to me to be quite immature, writing not being knowledgeable about getting into the depth of what the Bratva really is. Anyway, in the third book, I stopped at like chapter 12, went ahead several chapters, read more, nothing and changed, went to toward the end nothing had changed. So, I cannot write this book as worthy enough to be read. It just wasn’t good.

Throughout this trilogy, I came to love our mc’s. The only thing that became tiring was the endless distrust between the two. I was also very confused during her pregnancy lol. One moment she has a little belly then the next he has his hands on her flat belly? Like huh? How many months is she?? Overall I had to skim through this novel and with the results of the ending, I think it’s alright. Very different I’d say from other mafia novels but you could say that’s what makes it unique.

Previous books were better
Don’t care for Paige’s character. Constantly whining about how he has to change for her or she will leave. She loves him but obviously not enough to stay and maybe do some changes herself. She was no gift. In the first book he complained how bored he was at the office coming in only 1 day a week. How is he supposed to manage getting out of the business and living in boredom just to be wth Paige.
Unrealistic. The pakhan doesn’t leave the mafia to play house. Very disappointed the way the story went. Boring.

Personally I think Paige needed to grow up and own her role as Bratva queen, but nooo. Also the writing is horrible in most of the book, scenes skip to different scenarios in the middle of a chapter and you’ll be like “wait when did that happen?”. The back and forth between the MC was also exhausting. Glad they got their HEA, but also glad it’s over.
