Dribbling to Death: Taking His Shot

Rate this book
Book 2 in The Ghost Texter Paranormal Cozy Mystery SeriesKindergarten teacher Vivien Belcher—better known as Ms. B—has her hands full wrangling a classroom of sugar-fueled five-year-olds in a sleepy Lake Michigan beach town. Her life is a careful balancing act of glitter glue, lesson plans, and the occasional wine-fueled girls’ night. Things are finally feeling stable… until her phone buzzes with a text from her ex.

Her dead ex.

Kasper, the charming-but-complicated heartbreaker who ghosted her in the most literal way possible, is stuck in the Transitional World—kind of like purgatory, but with worse cell service. In order to earn his cosmic redemption, he needs Vivien’s help solving the murder of a promising college basketball player. But convincing Vivien to play detective again won’t be easy. After all, she already helped him crack one murder. She thought that would be the end of it—and of him.

Apparently, ghosts don’t know when to say goodbye.

As Kasper’s ghostly hijinks ramp up and the mystery deepens, Vivien finds herself caught between lesson plans, love interests, and a laundry list of suspects. If she’s going to solve this case and send Kasper packing for good, she’ll have to navigate small-town secrets, paranormal puzzles, and the lingering ache of a romance that refuses to die.

Perfect for fans of witchy whodunits, ghostly gossip, and heroines who solve crimes in cardigans, this paranormal cozy mystery will have you laughing, gasping, and texting your own ex “Do NOT haunt me.”

Vivian Belcher, aka Ms. B is back at it again! Her ex Kasper is desperate for help once again to help transition to the other world. Before he can do so, he believes that he needs Vivian’s help to solve another murder.

Vivian really didn’t want to continue communicating with her dead ex-boyfriend, but found herself back in investigator mode.

The delightful cast of characters is back with the addition of a few others for this murder mystery plot.

Can Vivian solve the crime and help her ex move on?

As an educator I love this series for so many reasons. Vi is the perfect representation of a stressed out kindergarten teacher and her kids are so accurate to what a kindergarten classroom is really like. The students make me laugh out loud, Zeb is dreamy and the mysteries always keep me guessing. And this one’s cliff hanger ending? I screamed a little bit folks. I can’t wait to read the next installment!

Oh, what barking madness.
Being a kindergarten teacher comes with its craziness. Add in a ghost of an ex-boyfriend texting you and a murder to solve, and you’ve got a great cozy mystery series. I love the whole ghost situation and how he communicates. Oh, what fun. I’m so enjoying this series and love to see what comes next.

Good story

Kasper is still bothering Vivien from the Transitional World. She has to solve a murder for him to move on. Marcy does a great job of making the characters come to life in her books. I can't wait to read the next one.
