Daddy Cupid: A Father's Day Novella

Rate this book
What’s a reaper to do when he’s desperate for love?

Help his newfound best friend host an inter-veil mixer to find the cupid of his dreams.

Gloom has had one thing on his mind, and that’s finding his perfect match. The reaper is a hopeless romantic at heart, who has very particular tastes. Imagine his surprise when he finds two cupids that match the exact energy he’s been looking for.

Cupiō and Ladybird have been two idiots in love for far too long, neither of them acting on their feelings. But when the charismatic reaper inserts himself into their conflicting feelings, maybe they can make this work after all.

That is, as long as they figure out who the true daddy cupid is in this inter-veil relationship.

”I rest my forehead against the door, my cock getting hard as I squeeze it from the outside of my pants, willing for it to go down.”

funnily enough i had the exact opposite experience every time i had to read the name “ladybird”.

i was deciding between reading a very sad book or this one and i really should have just taken my chances with the sad one.

why is every kindle unlimited book either like this or Freida McFadden. where is the kindle unlimited content for people who want neither bad smut nor below average thrillers. i am severely regretting those 99ct a month.

story and writing wise this was below average. i don’t know what i was expecting really. this had three povs and i could keep neither of them apart because really it doesn’t matter. still befuddled why there had to be some third act drama happening? they could just have continued fucking? oh well. read this if you want to masturbate and have really low standards, i guess.

4 ⭐️ MMF Romance From the Veil!

Finally, we get Cupio's story!! I cannot express with mere words how excited I was about this book. The fact that it's MMF only makes it all the more incredible.

Cupio is the Head Cupid of Cupidale, meaning he runs the show and decides the how, who, what, when and where... The problem is that everyone is always after something. Someone always needs something from Cupio, and the only buffer he has between the masses and his office door is Ladybird, his assistant. Ladybird is a cupid, sure, but she's unique in her cupidness. She's never cared to make love matches and rejoices in telling people what to do and when to do it - especially when it comes to entitled people thinking they can walk into the Head Cupid's office without an appointment. Most cupids fear, hate or generally avoid Ladybird and it serves her just fine. The problem is that, well, she might have a tiny, little crush on her boss. And her boss might have one right back, not that she knows that. What she does know is that on a day just like any other, a certain annoyingly cheerful cupid makes her way into the office with a reaper in tow. His name is Gloom, and after a few minutes, Ladybird can tell that an eager-to-please, begging to be someone's good boy reaper has stepped into her office. And if she only allowed herself to let go of her crush and enjoy this newfound crush...

I loved this story, even if it felt even more rushed than the previous two novellas. Having three MCs to account for, make their personalities known, and get them to interact enough so that there's an on-page spark between them takes... well, pages. And this book was so short it felt like by the time everything was finally happening, the book was over.

I did adore it, but I wish it could've been about 50 pages longer at the least. That being said, the world-building in this series is so fun and cosy that I will surely be reading any and all books that come out from the Veil.

🌶🌶🌶.5 - There are three people, and it makes the smut is extra nice imo!

5 stars!

A throuple, two cupids & one reaper, a cock cage, lube, and lots of dub-con action! what more convincing do you need than that to go read this little spicy, delicious novella? you don't I just answered that for you! GO READ!

Seriously, this Love in the Veil series just keeps getting better and better, and this time around Daddy Cupid delivers, Gloom was introduced in the 2nd installment called Lucky Cupid, I was hoping he would get his own love story and he did (Sarah always delivers her readers what we want thank you. lol)

Ladybird the overlooked, bad reputation for being a hard ass, lonely is the assistant to the Head Cupid in Cupidale Cupio, who she has been secretly pinning for since she became his assistant, well it just so happens Cupio has been pinning after Ladybird since he made her his assistant - oh these two love birds just need a little match making themselves and Gloom is the right Reaper for the job to bring these two lonely Cupids together and act on their feelings for each other as well as falling for him in the process.

I loved every minute of this little novella, the domination, the possessiveness, the 'you're ours' trope is heavy in this story, it's sweet, nurturing, acceptance in all aspects of love, love is not defined by sexuality it's about finding your person or people and living your true selves.

side note- at the end Sarah surprises us readers stating more Love in the Veil is to come and my imaginary cupid wings are out flapping with excitement! Thank you QUEEN!

I always enjoy a good throuple. I loved how every character was there for the others and helped them growing: Cupio was able to let go of his responsibilities as Head Cupid and finally found the love he has been craving for centuries, Gloom too found love he has been waiting for after seeing his reaper friends finding partners and Ladybird found someone(s) she belong to after being an outcast in her own realm. They all complement and bring the best out of each other, Cupio is kind and caring, Gloom is sunshine personified and Birdie is so protective of her men. Can’t wait for the next novella, I have an idea about the protagonists

I really enjoyed these characters but this one seemed like it was missing something that the first couple books in the series had.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶🌶🌶/5

TW - death and afterlife (discussed), poor relationship with son

CW - D/s, femdom, restraints (cock cage, shibari), toys, light daddy, light voyeurism, snowballing, DP

Tropes - possessive, novella, throuple, paranormal, grumpy x sunshine

Representation - polyam - MMF, demisexuality

This was a fun read and I enjoyed the cameos from the previous books.

Daddy Cupid is a low stakes novella where the characters find true love after unrequited crushes and longing to find something real between 2 cupids and a reaper.

It was sweet and they’re hot together, I’m eager to see what the next book holds 👀

Scale:

⭐️⭐️ - shit, but whatever
⭐️⭐️⭐️ - meh, could've been better
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - lit 👅

Genre: Paranormal Romance (Reapers and Cupids)
Spice: 3.5/5🌶️
Book three in Love in the Veil, a series of interconnected stand-alone novellas about the supernatural creatures of the veil.

Tropes & Themes: MMF, Dom/Sub aspects, soft dom x femme domme x golden retriever good boy, boss/assistant, cupids x reaper, pierced 🍆, cock cage

Spoiler-free Summary:
Head Cupid, Cupiō, has had the hots for his assertive, boss bitch assistant for years, so when Gloom, a reaper looking to be bossed around catches her attention, Cupiō think he’s lost his chance. What he doesn’t expect is that they both want him as much as they want each other.

Thoughts:
This novella series is so stinking fun.
I always love these stories and the unexpected directions they take.

Ladybird is a funny, kinda grumpy, very dominant Cupid and I loved seeing her relationship develop with Gloom and Cupiō. Their dynamic was a lot of fun, especially when Gloom was trying his best to be a good boy.

daddy’s day delight

I will always read a Sarah Blue book. She writes the best daddies. I loved this fun dynamic. A softy Reaper, a spicy & hard Cupid and the daddy himself Head Cupid.

This might be my first reading that included an appendage cage. And who said reading romance wasn’t educational??

Ahhhh, this was so ridiculously fun!

Featuring: Cupio the Head Cupid with gentle Daddy vibes, Ladybird who is his assistant/gatekeeper and a bad bitch in the best way, and Gloom the golden retriever reaper who wants to be a good boy for both of them. 😆

I alternated between giggling and fanning myself through this novella. So adorable! I could not ask for more from a cute and spicy MMF romance about horny/pining cupids and reapers who don’t quite fit into the box they’ve been assigned.

Love in the Veil is a novella series that follows different paranormal couples finding love after they've passed away and moved on to different places "beyond the veil." There are several different paranormal entities featured throughout these different books: reapers, angels, cupids, ghosts, Krampus, and nymphs. "Daddy Cupid" is a paranormal romance novella which features the polyamorous grouping of Gloom (a reaper), Cupio (head cupid), and Ladybird (a cupid). These three are awkward as hell on their own and very lonely, but together, they make up a really adorable (and full of power dynamics) throuple.
These books are quick to read, full of fluff, and tons of smut crammed into a short amount of time. There's really no purpose to them other than to read a silly little story featuring paranormal beings getting their freak on. It helps to read them in some kind of order so that you know who the other characters being talked about are, but it absolutely isn't necessary. They can be read as one offs or out of order should you choose. They end in a happily ever after ... duh. And you can usually get a hint at who the next couple that will be featured is.
This series is one of my favorite guilty pleasures and I enjoy reading them, but I really liked this one and it might be my favorite out of the novellas so far. My biggest complaint is that it wasn't longer so that the reader could experience more spicy scenes. These characters have been the kinkiest by far and it would have been awesome to get more of that! I would rate this spice a solid 3.5/5 peppers.

🇺🇸 Daddy Cupid by Sarah Blue delivered everything I was hoping for and more. This book strikes the perfect balance between being incredibly spicy while still maintaining a touch of softness that makes it truly enjoyable. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts, making every moment feel intense and exciting.

What really stands out about this book is how fun it is. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that playful energy really shines through in the story. The blend of heat and humor kept me hooked from start to finish. If you’re looking for a read that’s both steamy and light-hearted, this one hits the mark perfectly.

It’s the kind of book that leaves you with a smile on your face and a desire for more. Definitely a fun, spicy escape that I’d recommend to anyone looking for a read that’s both hot and heartwarming.

Jess’s overall enjoyment: 4.5/5⭐️
Spice level: 3.5/5 🌶️
Angst level: 2/5 ❤️‍🩹
Plot complexity: 2.5/5 🗺️
How much I enjoyed the writing style: 4/5 🖊️

I was about to write 'I am officially obsessed with this series' but let's be honest I was obsessed with this series with the first book. IDK what magic Sarah Blue is putting in these books but I CANNOT GET ENOUGH! The world that is built is simultaneously so comforting but also so intriguing. It's definitely a romance in a fantasy/paranormal setting vs. a PNR or romantasy because the world building isn't too encumbering but it also is so dynamic, without having to overtake the plot.

These characters are so fun and dynamic in this book!! I love that SB didn't stick to typical gender roles when assigning 'daddys' to the characters. Everything in this book was piping hot but she also makes all the moments SO TENDER!!!!

My only crit is that there were a couple moments where I was confused with blocking with characters, but other than that this book is perfection.

This is a spicy novella with insta-love vibes. I loved the storyline and the unique universe, but I do wish there would have been a little more relationship development between the characters.

This is the third book in the Love in the Veil series, but they can be read on their own. I do think I would have enjoyed it a little more if I had read the other books in the series prior to picking this one up so I was more familiar with some of the other characters that made an appearance.

Read this if you like:
💘 Grumpy/Sunshine
💘 MMF
💘 Cupid & Grim Reapers

If you are looking for a quick and spicy palate cleanser this could be the book for you.

As much as I didn't really connect with the 2nd Novella, this third one.... Made my heart weep for joy. I deeply loved all three MCs, and their connection and tender feelings made me tear up a few times (in a 115 pages novella, that's something). I just loved everything: the insecurities, the growing connection, the soft/hard dom, the "I'm done taking it slow..." I loved everything about this book, it was so heart-warming.... and I'm so ready for book 4 that I hope will be about Candy and Mortem!

Third one's the charm

This book focuses on a different group of characters. This time around we get a M/M/F pairing. It's time for the Head Cupid, his assistant, and a lonely reaper to find love. Cupio, Ladybird, and Gloom are the main focus in this story. We get to see how these three find their way into fitting together. This third book was the best one yet in the series. It covers so many aspects of relationships, including not being accepted by people for who you love. I am so enjoying this series.

“What? None of the death collectors are looking for an obedient reaper to boss around?” I clock him instantly.

I really liked the MMF dynamic of this third-in-series! We still get the cameos of the characters we know and love from the previous books, but this book is all Ladybird, Cupio and Gloom. <3

Gloom smiles and grabs me by my harness. “Time to whip your ass into shape, daddy cupid.”

Gloom wasn't quite what I expected but I liked how his character brought them all together! He was fun and totally into his cupids. Ladybird's status in Cupidale as Cupio's assistant gave her an interesting separation from the other cupids - I wonder if we will continue to see atypical cupids feature as MC's after book 2's Juliet and now Ladybird?

Candy stumbles as Mortem stabilizes her by grabbing her arm. “Who has horns, little cupid?

I definitely think these two are a candidate for a possible book 4 - but, we can't forget that Eros has the groundwork laid for a fun redemption arc too! I'll look forward to seeing where a book 4 might take us!

This book was unhinged but in a very fun way lol.

Spicy little novella in the same universe as the first two. I think the first one is still my favorite though.

What to expect:
- MMF
- dom/sub
- "good boy"
- grumpy x sunshine
