Her Fixer Upper is the romance story of Amira Washington and Austin Malone. This was more a novella then a novel. It can be read in a couple of hours.
Amira, the lawyer, bought a fixer upper, in Atlanta. She interviews contractors, and Austin stands out among all of them. There was very little backstory or development for either of the character. We knew Amira because she was Naima's sister from Her Forgotten Billionaire. If you haven't read that book, you wouldn't know her.
The most interesting thing about the book was the interaction between Amira and Austin. They actually listened to each other. Amira listened to Austin and knew he was having problems with his mother's nursing home and actually "fixed" his problem. Everyone knew Amira as a high powered attorney. Austin knew she was a,every talented artist though she only thought if it as a hobby. He drew her out and she was able to develop her ability and eventually showed her work at a famous art gallery.
Theirs was a very slow burn romance but was a extremely powerful connection which led to their HEA!
Amira is an attorney and she’s worked hard to get her place. She also has a hobby as an artist. The found a place to buy .A victorian place wre she make one home for her at. She needed a contractor. Austin was the one she interviewed, they seem to have a very good bond. As he worked, they talked more more.. He would listen intently to what she was saying..Amira said she could him with his mother. ,who in a nursing home..There’s chemistry it was very hot. They didn’t find anything different between them because the color or anything else.
Amira is a very successful lawyer. She purchases a fixer upper against the advice of her dominant mother. Austin is the contractor whom she employs to help create her dream home. He has a sense of humour and he truly understands what she wants in her renovation. He is also an honest contractor and easy to talk to. Amira finds herself eager to talk, discuss and see him. There is an understated sexual tension and desire between them. I loved this guy. I would love an Austin. Amira was badass too.
