"Finding Out" is written specially for the Caribbean. It covers all the material in the Primary science syllabuses used in the region. There is a book for each of the six grades which includes the activities for the students and the corresponding teacher notes. Features of the children are encouraged to find out for themselves, by carrying out a wide variety of activities; the activities should help children develop investigative and manipulative skills; materials needed for the activities are easily available; a lot of use is made of the natural surroundings for collecting and exploring; reading, writing and number skills are fully incorporated and developed by the course; there are appropriate term tests and instructions; all the content and process skills important at the primary level are covered in the course; the work is presented week by week for easy teacher reference; full teacher notes for all the lessons are included in the book; parents and guardians are encouraged to use the teacher notes to help their children learn at home.
