As much as I enjoyed reading this book, it is heartbreaking.
It is an intimate and an honest retelling of stories and events that took place in Palestine +75 years ago. I come from Palestine and I am a daughter of a Nakba survivor and I grew up listening to exile stories. My father never had the life he deserved, and I will always carry on his dream to go back to our village Zakaria. Thank you Deema for this incredible important book

Amazing book that documents stories of the fathers/mothers and grandfathers/grandmothers who were forced to leave their homes and cities thinking it was only temporary. This book is a tribute to these men and women whose stories are narrated by their own children and grandchildren. It was both heartwarming and heartbreaking to read the book and notice the similarities in every story told, where the hope of returning is passes on from generation to generation and the dream of seeing their home land feels closer every day.
P.S Great for gifting!

Viscerally important & eye-opening, even for the well-versed in Nak-ba/sa history.
