The Vossen women have always been a light in the darkness of Mortensby. Lighthouse keepers by heritage, their family home stands on one hill, while Pinegrove Academy, formerly known as Bishop House, stands on the other.
A history of violence and fire has always separated the two, as the Vossen women have a reputation as witches—a reputation that is true.
Eighteen-year-old Elenyx Vossen is on the cusp of adulthood and has choices to make for the where to pursue further education and whether to summon a demon familiar.
Her path becomes more complicated when she witnesses a tragic accident that parts the veil between life and death and brings romance into her life. But love is never without danger for the Vossens, as the enigmatic Ender and charismatic Mal's animosity toward each other runs deeper than their competition for her heart.
Her love life is not the only challenge Elenyx faces. Angry husbands beat at the door of the Vossen home, hostilities arise at work, and her sister’s sudden, strange behavior raises further concerns.
Everleigh Miles spends her days writing flawed, vulnerable, kinky characters in difficult situations, drinking too much wine, and picking up after Mr Miles, DD Miles, and DS Miles, their two dogs, two cats, and a turtle.
She lives in beautiful Australia, in her dream house at the top of the hill, looking down at the ocean and just a short distance from some of the best wineries the country has to offer (which explains the too much wine).
Thank you for reading and following @everleighmilesauthor.
I loved this book. I loved the main character Nyx and how she took me into a mind blowing journey. I can't wait for the second book to be out so I'll continue with the story. If you're into witches, demons, and grim reapers then this is the right book for you. It also has spice 🌶️🌶️🤭
This is definitely different than other books I've read and I ATE IT UP! OOF! The love triangle between a grim reaper and a demon 😈 just 😍. I NEED more! Please and thank you! 😘
3.75 Format: Kindle arc Dark paranormal spicy romance The writing was great and pretty quick read. It’s very paranormal which isn’t my fave but it was fun and the characters Elenyx was fun and I love how mysterious Ender has been. lol(reminds me of enderman from Minecraft😂) I like the magic and witchyness of the world and it feels new adult to me as well. If you love steamy witchy/paranormal romance I definitely know you’ll love this! Ender is definitely shadow daddy. I didn’t like Malachar at all.. I didn’t like him with Nyx, I preferred Nyx and Ender. I also did enjoy the story including the spicy scenes but the writing for that could have been a bit more normal cause every time the word “arse” was used in those scenes it just took me out of it. Overall pretty good though.
I’d say that the beginning really kind of pulls you in. I could not put the book down. I even snuck away to take 2 baths so that I could read in peace! 😂 I was recommended this book by the author actually, in a Facebook group. I specifically asked for “Bonnie off vampire diaries meets practical magic meets the craft meets Halloween town vibes…….. oh and smut”. Let me tell you, it’s definitely delivering practical magic vibes. I’m loving all the characters, well minus Nova. She’s not being a nice sister right now. Lol hoping she has some strong character growth! The aunts are my favs so far. The side convos amongst each other the advice, guidance, and banter mixed with their different personalities. It’s so easy to quickly start to adore them. This author does great with detail and painting the picture for you. I can see the story unfold as I’m reading. She really sets the scene. Ender… lawd. Man of few words. I NEED more banter, more background, a sense of his personality. But I keep telling myself maybe that IS his personality. Quiet, mysterious etc. I just want their relationship to build and to learn more about him. I’m eager and curious.
Chapters 6-10
Ok so I got a LITTLE more from ender. But who is this red headed Mal guy?! 👀 the part where he kisses her to take the pill out her mouth was kinda hot 🥵 I just don’t know if he’s good or bad. And somehow I believe Ender and Mal know of each other. Like they have a past or something. Is this gonna be the love triangle that was brought up 🤔. I need more.. and also the dean. Something is going on with him too. I just have a feeling. I’m caught in wanting to finish this book fast to devour it, but I also don’t want it to end.
Oh and welcome the smut in these chapters. It was magical 😍
11-15
Lots of questions and different scenarios running through my head. These chapters are very compelling! I keep trying to piece things together and make sense of them. I am so eager to figure out what the hell is going on! Obviously mal and ender are not friends. There’s a history there. It’s apparent that ender did SOMETHING to Mal, for mal to want to get his revenge. That revenge, just so happens to be Enyx. But, what exactly is THE revenge?!
Also, character update.
Mal: I feel like I’m not supposed to like Mal, but I do. Im sorry.. his personality is funny to me and he just says some of the most obscene shit and gets away with it 😂 Im #teammal
Ender: He’s like the badass gentle giant every girl wants. He says everything (when he does talk) sweet-like. He does everything with the thought of Enyx in mind etc. but my gut is telling me he’s the one that is a “danger” to Enyx. And I say that because of some of the things written. Almost as little Easter eggs. I don’t want to spoil for anyone else about to read. But I wish more people were reading this so I could discuss real time!
The aunts : still my favs. They just have this way of knowing things and letting you know that they KNOW without really telling you they know. You know? I think it’s called wisdom.
Nova: she’s growing on me. I WANT to like her. Like she does sweet things every once in a while. But then she does something that makes her go down on my “like a character” meter. But they are sisters and she’s a teenage girl. So I guess it makes sense.
Enyx: I’m gonna be real with you. Not my favorite MFC so far. And not for reasons you would think. It’s killing me that she’s not asking questions. Like why does Mal want revenge on you Ender? Huh? Why! And if Enyx feels like Mal is playing a game with her and can sense that something happened between him and Ender, why not just ASK. She just seems so naive. I want her to get more personal with them both. But also, I’m jealous she’s having all this fun with BOTH these men and neither appear to mind. Like they both know.. but it’s kinda okay. Whew 🥵 it’s getting steamy.
** ok let me note that I wrote most of this without reading chapter 15 yet. This chapter alone answered soooo many questions. I might have changed teams that fast. Is Mal the 😈 in this story that ender is telling here? And is Ender the one who made the deal with the devil? Come on now.. a poet. Enders poetry. Puzzle is coming together now.
16-20
Holy HELL. I was expecting death, but not like that. I also don’t know HOW to feel about this whole arrangement now with Mal. It’s hot don’t get me wrong. Loving the smut. But I also kinda feel bad for Enyx. She just went through something traumatic and her life has been flipped. I feel like she needs time to process everything and have her questions answered. Ugh I don’t know how to feel right now. Also curious to see what Ender is planning.
21-22
Ok well all I have to say is I need book 2, NOW. The ending tells me that book 2 is going to have a possible new lover added to the triangle 😈Maybe.. I don’t know but I’m here for it.
I loved this book. I’m excited for book 2 and hoping to get more answers from Ender.
Sin Bone Deep by Everleigh Miles is a dark, intoxicating journey into a world where desire, secrets, and survival collide. As the first book in The Sinful Feast series, it sets a compelling tone that blends emotional vulnerability with raw, addictive tension—and it does so with razor-sharp prose and a fearless sense of intensity.
From the very first page, Everleigh Miles draws the reader into a world that is both seductive and dangerous. The atmosphere is thick with tension—both emotional and sexual—as the characters navigate power dynamics, personal trauma, and forbidden cravings. The writing is elegant yet visceral, giving readers a sensory-rich experience that lingers long after the final page.
The central character is compelling and layered—strong in ways that don’t always look like strength, and vulnerable in a way that feels honest and earned. There’s no attempt to create a flawless heroine here, and that’s what makes her so believable. She’s been shaped by her past, yet she refuses to be defined by it. Her internal monologue is raw and at times gut-wrenching, offering an intimate look into her conflicted heart and mind.
The love interest (or perhaps more accurately, the obsession) is as enigmatic as he is magnetic. Everleigh Miles doesn’t shy away from complexity—he’s dominant, dangerous, and darkly charismatic, yet there’s a deep current of emotion that flickers beneath his cold exterior. Their relationship is far from conventional, and it’s that unpredictability that makes every encounter between them feel explosive and significant.
The pacing of the book is deliberate and immersive. Rather than rushing into action, Miles allows the tension to build slowly, giving every word and glance weight. This is not a light read—it explores themes of control, consent, healing, and identity—but it does so with grace and depth. The result is a story that feels both intimate and epic, with emotional stakes that are just as high as the physical ones.
One of the standout elements is the prose itself. Everleigh Miles writes with lyrical intensity, using language that is at once poetic and piercing. Every scene is richly layered, and the attention to emotional nuance is exceptional.
Sin Bone Deep is not just a romance—it’s an experience. It’s about what we hide, what we crave, and what happens when we are forced to confront both. If you enjoy dark romance with emotional depth, sharp writing, and a heroine worth rooting for, this book is a must-read.
Rating: 5/5 – Fierce, beautiful, and utterly consuming.
I received this book as an ARC read, and I devoured it in one sitting—I just couldn’t put it down! SIN Bone Deep is an atmospheric and gripping paranormal romance that blends gothic mystery, witchy intrigue, and simmering tension in the best way possible.
Everleigh Miles crafts a hauntingly beautiful world filled with family secrets, supernatural elements, and a touch of danger that keeps the pages turning. The moody, almost hypnotic writing pulls you in, making Mortensby feel like a place you can step into—full of whispers, shadows, and a history that refuses to stay buried.
The romance is intense, the tension is palpable, and the story delivers just the right amount of spice without overshadowing the eerie, spellbinding tone. If you love books with strong heroines, a hint of the mystical, and an irresistible blend of love and mystery, SIN Bone Deep is a must-read.
The only reason this isn’t a full 5 stars for me? I wanted more—more pages, more answers, and more time in this captivating world. But that’s the best kind of book, right? The one that lingers in your mind long after the final page. I am already itching to read book two.
Highly recommend for fans of dark, witchy romance with a gothic twist! 🌙✨
I was hooked right from the prologue. It was tantalizing enough to make me keep reading. I love Everleigh's books and style of writing. And Sin Bone Deep did not fail to engage me. I loved Nyx's character. Seemingly innocent, yet burning with passion. I also think Ender is a great character. Perfect for Nyx. I'm not sure how I feel about Mal, though. I don't think he will be a good influence. Another thing I really enjoy about Everleigh's style of writing, is how she writes of communities that have backward thinking. Whether it's how they treat females or those that they feel are different. The attitude of the people of Mortensby reminds me of Practical Magic. I could literally hear the children chanting "Witch, witch, you're a witch" as I was reading the book. We don't know too much about any of the characters, but it's only book one. I very much look forward to reading the next book and seeing how Nyx developes and the choices she makes.
I enjoyed this book. The idea of the book was good and the family dynamic with the possible academy trope. But I found this book more frustrating that anything. I struggled with the lack of follow through after the brutality the FMC went through and how it was written that she almost “bounced” back from something so traumatic without and aftercare, supports and didn't even talk about the assault. The FMC, intelligent in her witch ways but lacks the ability to ensure person safety, planning and seems nieve to the world around her. Also, why is the FMC letting those men walk all over her and she just goes along with it??? Put your foot down lady!!!! You are not a possession or an animal- make your own choices and stick to them. She just laid down like a doormat and allowed them to walk all over her
This was such a good read, I haven’t read a good witch book like this in a long time. Going to keep this spoiler free but I have to say the contrast of Nyx in the beginning and the end is huge! I’m excited to see her growth in the next book and what happens next! I didn’t like Mal much to begin with but that quickly changed in the middle of the book, and I’m so curious to see the dynamic between Nyx, Ender, and Mal going forward. If you love witches, demons, grim reapers, lots of spice, and some mystery, this is the series for you😍
I’m so excited to see where Everleigh will take us in the next book!
Witches, Demons and Grim Reapers what more can you want?
Being a Vossen witch in a small town is very hard as the townspeople look down on your family, except when they are in need of something.
Throw in a sister who shuns you in public.
Nyx though choosing whether going to college or summoning a demon familiar was hard but Nyx's life gets even more complicated after witnessing a tragic accident involving a little girl.
First she meets Ender the secretive reaper, later she meets Mal the flirty fun loving, trouble making demon. Ender and Mal seem to have a rivalry going on.
What I like about the book: • How Elenyx character develops • The book is quick and easy to read. • The story is compelling. • has just the right amount of spice
I would recommend it to any witchy paranormal book lovers!
This would have been a five-star read if not for the seemingly out of pocket r*pe in the last 30 or so pages of the book. It was unnecessary to furthering the plot (the same message could have been achieved by her simply being beat up), and it wasn’t well addressed by the two MMC’s.
I would give this book a 3.5, but since I can only do whole numbers, a 4 it is, since a 3 is too low. Leading up to that, I really enjoyed the story and the characters, and there were a few truly moving quotes. I hope the second book will be less flippant about the assault in general.
I wasn’t expecting this story at all, what starts out as urban fantasy becomes so much more. Hints of the new series of Sabrina, teenage witch, especially with Aunt Callista. There’s a lot going on on many levels, including who tries to kill Nyx, in addition to the drama surrounding Elder and Mal. Though I hope in the next book they learn to work together, because that would be beyond hot! I’m incredibly excited to read what happens next. I loved this and can’t wait to devour the next book.
" To the darling souls who venture into these dark pages of sinful things, may the shadows take you the way you want to be taken "
" In the eyes of the world, you're only as good as your last sin "
I devour this book in a day as i was so hooked and i couldnt get enough of it . That triangle between grim reaper and demon ... oh my .. I can't wait till i read more from Everleigh
This book takes Practical Magic, the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and Lost girl; throws them in the cauldron; and creates the most magically twisted dark mystery romance. Equal parts emotional, intense, and thought-provoking. This book leaves you craving more.
This sinfully magical dark romance book, had its claws in me by the third chapter. I'm hooked. It has a dash of innocence and a spoonful of hot intense scenes, mixed together to make an amazing book. The storyline of witches, demons and the grim reaper is refreshing as it is not your everyday romance book but more...
I LOVED reading this story and can’t wait for the second book! Nyx is a great character, such a fireball! And Ender…so swoon-worthy! Over these past few days, I got really close to the Vossen women. Feels like I’m a part of their family, help! I loved their characters. Their personalities. The witchy vibe, the romance…so good.
This was a very interesting book! I wasn't expecting what I read and I'm not disappointed what so every! I loved the mix of characters. I don't like Mal but that's my opinion. I didn't think I will ever like him. I can definitely do without. Ender I want more of and would love to have more pov from him. I can't wait to read the next book!
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ For spice level. This book went by quickly because it’s so good that I couldn’t stop reading. It’s HOT 🥵!! The sexy bits are so well done that you almost feel like you’re right there experiencing it. I very much look forward to the continuation of this series. I can’t get enough of Mal!!
After reading Sin Bone Deep Book 1, I need Book 2 now! I couldn't put it down! I need more of Nyx, Mal and Ender in my life! This is the first book I have read by Everleigh Miles, and I can honestly say I want to read more of her books! Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys paranormal romance!
Best book I've read so far this year and I've read 63 already. Could not put it down. And I can't wait to read the next book. The characters were great, the story was compelling and I need to know what happens next.
I really liked that Nyxs family of witches take in and help women that are in abusive relationships escape and go to a safe home. Ender was such a nice guy that i wish Nyx treated a bit better. Malachar i dont really like and feel like he is just using Nyx and turning her into something she isnt.
Everleigh has a way with words and weaves her dark romances in a way that keeps me guessing what happens next. Suspenseful and keeps me on the edge of my seat, so many ups and downs.
Wow a practical magic vibe and so good. Elenyx is such a strong character that you instantly connect to her. The MMC's Ender and Malachar are such good opposites that you want both of them.
I may give book 2 a chance. I really want to like the story but the writing style kept pulling me out of it. Really it’s a 2.5 stars but I am rounding up since Goodreads doesn’t allow half stars.
Oh my goodness, where do I start?! I guess firstly, I can’t recommend this book enough if you love a good paranormal romance!
The story is wonderfully written and has a unique touch of poetry which just makes it so fantastical. I love how the poetry adds an extra layer of depth to the story especially from the MMC point of view, *chefs kiss*. As per the norm with this authors stories, it just carries you away, it’s so easy to feel a part of the story and feel all the emotion and fall in love or loathing with the characters. Simply brilliant and a definite must read!
