Never make a deal with a billionaire, particularly one who’s a vampire...

The deal is spend a month with a mysterious billionaire who is the owner of Louisiana’s La Petite Mort Casino, and he’ll forget my father’s gambling debts. If it means saving our family home and business, I’ll do anything.

With his strong, sexy, take charge arrogance, Nicolas Dupont is a mystery to me. But it doesn’t matter how hot he is. This is purely a business arrangement. Nic can have any woman he wants and it makes no sense that he'd be interested in a virgin like me. I’m certainly not about to fall for a guy who thinks he can own me.

So I go hunting for a way to free myself. When I discover I’m the hunted, and there are those who want my blood, Nic claims he can protect me. But can I trust one of his kind?

When this began, I thought I might lose everything. Now I’m not sure if I’ll make it out alive . . .

This is the complete Baton Rogue Vampire trilogy in one book!

Hmmm.. all 3!

This was a full complete series review... Overall, these 3 books as whole was a pretty decent read. I did find it to become slow in some spots that I had difficulty trudging through, but dear God I got through them and I finally finished this complete book series without a scratch.

Overall rating:
4* ~ A Good Read for all 3 Books Combined.

Such a good read!

This was a well written and long storyline. With a handsome King of Vampires. But I had questions like wouldn’t a powerful King have his own army of vampires? He did have werewolves for friends.
Leia is a beautiful young lady and still a virgin. Something the Vampire King needs. But a war is coming to Nic and threaten his kingdom!
This book takes place in Louisiana and has alot of action and steamy love scenes. I liked their happily ever after. The next book is going to be about his brother Sebastian.

Plot is decent but this is so poorly written it’s absolutely painful to get through.

Dialogue between main characters is terrible.
World building is tragic.
The writing style is so scattered that there’s no clear direction during the description of a scene. Very disorienting.

MMC is a fucking idiot. Can’t think beyond the end of his nose.
FMC is a whingey spoiled brat in the end.

I’ll never understand how these women go from being billy big balls ti whimpering fucking dolts when they get involved with the MMCs.

There are huge inconsistencies and plot points that the writer never bothers to address. It’s like she forgot how the storyline was going and just never bothered to correct it.

Multiple instances where she misspells her own Main Characters names.

My favourite plot point is where Nic says he sired Jason and then turns around and says he’s never turned a person into a vampire.

SORRY?!

What?!

This book was a chore to get through.
Full of nonsense filler and ridiculous dialogue nobody needed to read. Also it was very predictable and the resolution was a fucking joke.

10/10 do NOT recommend. Someone should recommend a creative writing class to the author.

good but drawn out to much *some spoilers*

The premiss is good and I liked the story for the most part. I definitely think it should have been completed sooner. By the third book I didn’t even really like the FMC that much and was a little annoyed with the MMC as well.
🌶️- 4, but got the the point it was mostly a way to keep drawing the ‘conflict’ out and was annoying.

They drew out the ending with stupid things like the FMC main reason to not turn was she would miss eating, but also kept talking about how much she loved the MMC and hated being left out and being weak. Also- in this world she could still eat! It’s just not a necessity.
The MMC was annoying because he’s supposed to be all BA but kept walking away from her and she’d get hurt! How did he not learn/how come he supposedly had all these powers but still is mostly the same as the human?

Not a bad book, just not the best vampire story.

This story is a complex paranormal romance centred around a vampire theme, featuring the intriguing premise of spending a month with a mysterious billionaire. The narrative is unpredictable, effectively delivering a complete and engaging storyline within a concise format. Readers are likely to find themselves drawn into the plot, eagerly anticipating each twist and turn.
Key elements of this immersive tale encompass themes of fated mates—an irresistible pull that transcends time—alongside witches, vampires, and shifters. The air is thick with magic, action, and palpable tension, while family dynamics add another layer of complexity to the relationships at play. The male protagonist emerges as a quintessential Alpha—exuding sexiness, dominance, and a fierce possessiveness that heightens the romantic and dramatic stakes of the narrative. As the story unfolds, it blend of passion, intrigue, and supernatural wonders.

Forced finish

Potential, this book held potential but fell short! Nothing original about the storyline, MMC & FMC where not strong enough characters to be vampire king and queen of city! The female MC imo was TSTFL! Multiple , MULTIPLE times she puts her fragile human self in danger. And Nic the king, her mate continues to puts her in danger, she's kidnapped, she is almost turned by others and yet they both keep making stupid, stupid decisions! If you want an amazing vampire book?!?!? Read the Black Dagger Brotherhood books.. Your welcome 5 star reads! Nothing original or interesting to hold your attention and the sex scenes are so often as fillers, I started skimming past just to finish this bloody book! I forced myself to finish hoping the end would redeem anything out of this book, alas it did not! 1.5 generous stars.✌

Enjoyable...but lacking

This book came across my radar on a social media ad. It sounded interesting with the small blurb the ad had, so I decided to give it a shot. It's not a bad read, although the plot is very cliché and typical of most vampire books. I don't fault the authors because let's face it, there's not much you can add to vampire books that hasn't already been brought to the table in other vampire novels/series.

Overall, I can truly say I didn't like the lack of character description. I still don't really know what Nic looks like other than his gray eyes, and the same goes for just about every character in this book. I will, however, give kuddos to the banter between some of the characters. Some parts had me laughing. Another thing I wasn't too keen on was the romance aspect between Nic and Leia. It was very rushed and lacking true development. How can you go from disliking someone, even hating them, and then making out with them in a matter of hours or days? There needs to be some depth in that type of situation.

I'm not sure if these authors are new in writing, but you could tell there was a lack of overall character development, and you could tell when the book shifted to another authors writing. I'm not trying to be negative towards these authors in any way. I get that writing is not easy, and it takes time and practice to fully develop a great read, I'm just giving feedback.

Lastly, I'm giving this a 3.5 rating because I don't think it's a bad read. It's worth a shot. I just feel that there could've been more depth, description, and background to the overall plot and characters. With that being said, to the authors, I applaud you for putting out a book that, although lacking in some areas, it was still entertaining and enjoyable.

"Taken By The Vampire King: The Baton Rouge Vampire Complete Series" by Roxie Ray is an enthralling dive into a world where passion, danger, and supernatural intrigue collide. If you're a fan of gripping vampire romances, this series will captivate you from the first page to the last.

Roxie Ray masterfully crafts a dark and alluring universe where vampires reign supreme and the stakes are always high. The central character, whose journey weaves through each book, is thrust into a world of peril and seduction when she encounters the enigmatic and powerful Vampire King of Baton Rouge. This meeting sets off a chain of events that keeps readers on the edge of their seats, blending suspense, romance, and supernatural drama seamlessly.

The characters in this series are richly developed, each bringing their own unique strengths and vulnerabilities to the story. The Vampire King himself is a complex figure—intense, brooding, and fiercely protective. His chemistry with the heroine is palpable, making their interactions both steamy and emotionally charged. Ray's portrayal of their evolving relationship is both heart-wrenching and heartwarming, making it impossible not to root for their love against all odds.

One of the standout aspects of this series is the vivid world-building. Roxie Ray paints a picture of Baton Rouge that is both familiar and fantastical, a city teeming with hidden dangers and dark secrets. The supernatural elements are intricately woven into the fabric of the story, making the fantastical feel real and immersive. Whether it's the ancient vampire politics or the thrilling battles, each scene is meticulously crafted to keep readers engrossed.

The series also excels in its pacing. Each book flows seamlessly into the next, with cliffhangers and plot twists that compel you to keep reading. Ray knows how to balance action with romance, ensuring that the story never loses momentum. The narrative is driven by both the external threats the characters face and their internal struggles, creating a rich tapestry of tension and emotion.

"Taken By The Vampire King" is more than just a romance; it's a saga of love, loyalty, and resilience. The themes of trust and redemption are explored deeply, as characters grapple with their pasts and strive for a better future. The emotional depth of the series is matched by its exhilarating action sequences, making for a truly satisfying read.

As someone who loves a good vampire romance, I found this series to be a standout. Roxie Ray's ability to create compelling characters and an engaging plot makes "The Baton Rouge Vampire Complete Series" a must-read. Whether you're new to the genre or a longtime fan, this series promises to deliver all the thrills and swoons you could ask for. Highly recommended for those looking to lose themselves in a dark, romantic adventure.

SO MANY TYPOS

I'll start with I was really interested and really wanted to like this book when I saw it on an online ad with a long snippet of the story taken from the beginning of the book.

However, SO MANY TYPOS and misspellings were ALL throughout the book and in nearly every chapter. Just one example out of 50-100+ errors encountered, in this case, for a glaring misspelling that threw me entirely out of the story near the climax toward the end of the book: what was very obviously supposed to be spelled as "baseline" in context as a base unit of measure, was instead spelled as "bassline". This type of error is honestly small and I would have absolutely ignored it if it were a one-off error, but it just wasn't a one-off or even a fifty-off at that point. This type of misspelling (or many words just simply missing letters entirely or sentences missing whole words like "the" pretty frequently) wasn't uncommon throughout the entire book whatsoever. It needs an ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE editing overhaul and proofreading just for that extremely repeated issue alone.

That being said, the story wasn't bad, but it was a bit simple and predictable while it tried to make hints, twists, or suspense that often fell just a little flat or didn't end up going anywhere in the end. Also temporarily ignoring the constant typos issue, the author(s)'s voice(s) read like a very young writer still trying to learn and find their writing voice, or maybe there was some compromising on the story between the co-authors that wasn't fully agreed upon in its direction? IDK, but I nearly DNF the book a few times in the middle due to the constant typos, a few small storyline cohesion issues between different scenes, increasing loss of interest in the story by the middle of the book, and because of several occasions when the FMC made decisions deeming her TSTL when she was explicitly told not to do the things for her own safety, but then she almost immediately did the things anyway to her own detriment--repeatedly.

Having read the Baton Rouge Vampire trilogy when it was originally published I am now very happy the author has released the books in this complete collection.
The story of Leia and Nicolas is an excellent one and their journey is both passionate, and tragic, evoking powerful emotions and immersion into the action, adventure, subterfuge, suspense, twists and surprises that will keep readers engaged, and always makes for good reading.
Nicolas is a vampire who knows what he wants and that becomes Leia.
When her father racks up gambling debts in the Billionaire’s casino La Petite Mort he offers her a deal that will either save or break her.
I enjoyed the trilogy the first time around and the second reading was just as good, but now offered in a nice binge worthy full course meal of Paranormal romantic spice.

Taken By The Vampire King (The Baton Rouge Vampire Complete Series ) by Roxie Ray is the entire vampire romance novel series. I had read books 1~3 separately and then I saw Roxie Ray was releasing them all together and I knew I had to the read them again. I enjoy vampire stories so I am always quick to grab them up. The plot was interesting and I definitely enjoyed the world building that always is apart of fantasy novels.
The main characters in the three books are Leia and Nicolas. The three books is there journey from her father basically trading her for a gambling debt to Nicolas and Leia realizing how much they really mean to each other. There of course is so much in between from betrayal, laughter, anger, fear, love, spice and so much more. You just have to read it.
The books are:
1. Taken By The Vampire King
2. Stolen By The Vampire King
3. Made By The Vampire King
I recommend this series if you like vampires. It was a fun read. I am glad it was put into one book.

We follow them through the month they agreed on and more. There’s kidnapping, death, her desire to be bitten, him not wanting too, and a war started over her…SO much more!!
Three fascinating books you will NOT be able to put down.

This is a three book series following the relationship of Leia and Nic.

Leia is a strong, hard working young woman struggling under enormous odds. When her father deals the death blow to her business, home and life by taking the last of her money from the safe to feed his alcohol addiction. Nic, an ancient vampire, takes one look at her and decides to choose the sub clause on the contract her father signed, giving her to him for a month. He desperately hopes to change her mind to stay with him forever in that time, but so many things get in the way.

Their adventure leaps from the very first page with legal blackmail, vampires, crazy arch enemies, growing war, difficult family dynamics and so much passion. A thoroughly enjoyable all action story with a nice edge to it.

I can't tell you how much I loved the fact that all 3 books (Taken by the Vampire King, Stolen by the Vampire King and Made by the Vampire King) in Leia & Nic's story were put together in a boxset because I read through all 3 of them in two days. I just couldn't put them down I was that invested in seeing where their books would lead.

A debt drops Leia (FMC) in the hands of Vampire King and Casino Owner - Nic as well as lands her in a Supernatural World she's I'll prepared for. A dangerous one with Leia stuck in the middle of a power struggle between ruling Vampire Kingdoms. This trip of books were steamy with great plot twists but for me it was the relationship that Leia and Nic had that kept me gripped all the way through all 3 books. A great read. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on Sebastian book now.

Ok ish. (SPOILERS)

This trilogy is an okay ish series about vampires and people in Louisiana. Leia is taken on a month's contract by the Baton Rouge vampire king ( the Rylan look alike on the covers on the individual books). She's stolen by a rival King in New Orleans and war ensues. She can't be turned too quickly in case of becoming a bad vampire, all death etc. These vampires can be about in the daytime and have heat too. In between the warring vampires there is sex, and lots of instances of it. To me that doesn't make the book a romantic one, a bit of a lewd one I suppose. I don't mind lewdness but in the right places. I'd have preferred learning more about all the vampires of Nic's family, not just the odd quote here and there and how bad is Sebastian anyway? Also the bad guy in NO think Russell Edgington crazy, his dad's the same.
Ok if you like it.

Leia Boucher's father has a gambling addiction and now owes a large sum of money. He has used as collateral the bar his late wife owned and his daughter now runs, despite her father's problem. When Nicholas DuPont comes to collect, Leia discovers the depths her father will stoop to. Unknown to Leia, who is human, Nicholas is a vampire and he needs Leia to strengthen his reign. But there are other forces out there who will stop at nothing to get Leia and start a war. Full of drama, action, intrigue and suspense, this trilogy has brilliant characters, a great storyline and you won't be able to put it down.

This is a boxset of the complete series and comprises of the following books:
Taken By The Vampire King
Stolen By The Vampire King
Made By The Vampire King

Now you'd think coming from a family where her father is a gambler and she is having to find a way to make ends meet and make the debt go away that she would think twice about making a bet. Leia somehow ends up making a deal with the Vampire King and that's where it all starts. Nic is determined to win although it is definitely not all plain sailing. A lavish world of action, intrigue and passion.
This is a fabulous series that you can binge all in one go. The wordplay between characters is really good and the whole thing is enjoyable to read.

A king of Baton Rouge

And I mean this with the greatest of respect. Nic is no king. He is wishy washy, and moody as a teenager in the beginning. The fact that he is hundreds of years old and yet has no working knowledge of the lore of his people...there is no king training? He claims to be in love with the fmc praises how strong she is and yet keeps seriously important things from her and basically tells her dont tou worry your pretty little head about it. There is no strength, if he wasn't a vampire I would call him a trust fund baby thats gotten away with the bare minimum in life and thinks hes the best thing ever. Its the first time I have DNF'd a book in quite sometime.

So now I have completed all 3 books. I was intrigued with the story line so that definitely kept me committed. But I do feel this novel lack a lot. For one...there's really no physical description about Nic or Leia aside from Leia having brown hair and Nic gray eyes. I would of like more details about appearances for each character so I can picture them in the story.

Second...there were parts that I felt weren't clear where I almost had to guess if this or that happened.

Third...I felt it was ended abruptly meaning Emile's death....all that suspense for something to end so quickly. It was pretty dry.

Then let's talk about Leia. As others mentioned no one in their right mind would like her character. There were times I was so annoyed I was about to end the story.

This series was not for me. It was incredibly frustrating and I had a hard time liking the main female character. She came across as naive, selfish and dumb. She repeatedly puts herself in danger after Nic tries to protect her and then gets mad when she’s in danger. Made no sense. And asking Sebastian to turn her was ridiculous.

Also, Nic was maybe the weakest king ever. Multiple breaches in his security with very little response or reaction from him. The only person he held a hard line with was Sebastian. Everyone else got a free pass. He didn’t end up killing Francois or Emile.

Overall these books could have been shorter. Maybe a less drawn out story would have helped it in the long run.

Leia went to Nic about her father’s gambling debt to him, tells her that he will forget the debt if she stays with him for a month. Leia realizes that she is falling for him so she tries to get away, but then she gets caught by another vampire and wishes she was with Nic to keep her safe. She is in the middle of a war then her father was killed by a vampire so she asked Nick to change her to help her get revenge and he said no that was the wrong reason so she defies him. Then they have to work out things that happened. Good book!.

- Vampire romance
- Complete series
- Action packed

I am such a fan of vampire romances and this author does a superb job. This book contains all 3 books in the series, which is good because the first 2 books have cliffhangers. This collection allowed a seamless reading experience.

The descriptions in this book of Louisiana are what made the story special for me. I felt the pulse of the city through the words. I was mesmerized by the secrets of the city and the vampire world.

If you enjoy a fast paced paranormal read, this is the book for you.

good read!

Spice was great, albeit repetitive and not much change on it throughout the story line.
Storyline kind of dragged on to where it felt like it was a standpoint with no progress.
The FMC is very strong willed and held to her own even through the end which I enjoyed even when it got frustrating, she was a truly independent woman who couldn’t fathom settling on giving over that sense of control.
The MMC was stubborn and the way he would hold back from speaking his internal thoughts would get infuriating but also relatable.
The internal dialogue was great I almost wished there was more actual dialogue though.

just not great

The author over uses phrases constantly. If I had read about the MC adjusting his c**k one more time, I was going to scream. There is also an awkwardness in the use of language, not bad grammar specifically, but poor use of words. Made the reading fairly annoying. I could tell more than one person wrote these stories. Paragraphs didn’t flow almost as if one person was speaking/writing then the other. The story had potential, I just don’t think it reached it at all. There was a shallowness to the main characters that remained through out the books. A shame really as I found the basis for the story interesting, it just didn’t pan out.

I hate to DNF a book, but this one was frustrating

I was really looking forward to this book—it seemed interesting from the blurb. Unfortunately, I had to stop reading at Chapter 14. The dynamic between the main characters was frustrating, especially since the FMC was supposed to be the most important person to the hero. Despite this, he never protected her or gave her the vital information she needed. The FMC herself had no sense of self-preservation and kept recklessly putting herself in dangerous situations. It was hard to root for her when she lacked any meaningful development or survival instincts. Sadly, I couldn’t push myself to finish.

I give this 2.5 stars. It wasn't a horrible series to read but I do genuinely dislike how a main character will hate the male lead and distrust them yet in a few days they're in bed with one another and all over each other. It's just unrealistic and yes this is fiction but I wish there was a bit more of getting to know one another or learning to move past the initial dislike.

Now I will say I really enjoyed the character of the second book, and how haunted and crazy he seemed. His behaviors and personality truly made me feel so bad for him.

Otherwise, this was a good little series to read when I was bored but I probably won't pick it back up.

Officially DNF’d at 78%. Skimmed from about 44% onward.

This had potential. But, I hate the miscommunication trope. This took it even further and there was just no communication of any substance between the two MCs. For an ancient vampire the MMC sure acted like a moronic trust fund kid. And the FMC? I don’t think she had two brain cells to rub together. It made for a maddening read/skim.

Unfortunately this is also one of those books you can tell was written by a duo-they’ve successfully done it before/after but this one felt very stilted, and didn’t flow between the two authors.

If this is your jam, good for you. If not, that’s ok too. I fall in the latter for sure.
