Nine months after the fire at the end of Ace of Spades, Devon, Chiamaka, and Terrell get together for a pride picnic in the park - all while recovering from the explosive end of Niveus Academy.
This short story was originally included in the UK summer edition of ACE OF SPADES.
Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé is the instant New York Times, International bestselling, & Award-winning author of ACE OF SPADES and WHERE SLEEPING GIRLS LIE. She also has an MA in Shakespeare Studies from Kings College London. When she isn’t spinning dark tales, Faridah can be found examining the deeper meanings in Disney channel original movies.
Found this short story on her website, but danggg who are the people in the picture? That picture is cute!!!
I can spot Devon right away. Possibly Chiamaka too. You mean to tell me that Terrell is in the middle?? And what the world is going to happen with Devon and Dre 😭
So many questions and not enough answers. I did get atleast one answer that helped me. Chiamaka! You are not as unbearable in this story!!
I need moreeee 😩😩😩 but it did address how Chiamaka felt about her pansy of a father. His lack of protection always bothered me in AOS! But wassup with Andre tho? And why does Devon even care when he has Terrell?!!
I saw that this was a thing and read it real quick because I just finished the actual book. It was way too short, I wanted more but its was still super cute. Like it is so short I read it in like two minutes kind of short.
If you're a superfan of Ace of Spades, this might do something for you. But it's barely even a short story, and I didn't remember the characters or their relationships enough to care. Love young friends just hanging out and vibing at Pride, though!
