Nothing in Cyrian Blacksong's life ever goes right. He gets bullied, sucks at school, and can't even find a proper girlfriend.
When Cyrian's class is summoned to a new world full of magic, quests, and powerful monsters, he thinks he can finally start life over as a Level 1 Hero doing battle against the hordes of evil.
However, Cyrian soon learns his past is not so easily left behind. When a terrible betrayal leaves him fighting for his life, Cyrian must master a new, dark a power that draws beautiful women to his cause and has the potential to destroy the very rules that govern this world.
Warning: This is an 18+ isekai haremlit dungeon crawler litrpg that features one male in a relationship with multiple beautiful females. Make sure that's your cup of tea before you read!
For those of you that read haremlit, you know there is a difference between Eastern/manga harem, and Western. This book feels much more Eastern than Western.
The MC is on some variation of Earth when he and his entire class is sucked into another world and told they can be heroes. The MC was a bit of a nothing on his previous world, and lo and behold, he's again pretty much nothing here on the new world. He's accused of attempted murder by a classmate that is crushing on the MC's female best friend, and is thrown into a chasm and presumably to his death. But he survives, and gains the subclass Corruption Mage because he vows revenge.
The MC is a virgin, and this is a running theme through 95% of the book. He's basically terrified of women, having no idea how to interact with them. He gets flustered at the slightest hint of a woman's body, much less any "lewd" comments or gestures she might make. Frankly, it's tiresome.
There is only one woman, a half-demon the MC rescues. She's your typical overly perky hot bodied woman that quickly clues into his inability to handle anything female. Endless teasing ensues.
If you don't like Eastern haremlit, this is going to be a major problem for you. The MC's inability to even casually flirt is so painful the story loses a lot of its luster.
Isekai Setup: Cyrian and his classmates get transported to another world, but he’s the weakest appraiser class, oh nooooo
Unoriginal Power-Up Arc: After some Shield Hero-esque betrayals, he gets teleported to a dungeon, awakens OP skills, and starts killing monsters
Revenge & Rescue Mission: Cyrian levels up in the dungeon, determined to take revenge on NPC side characters and save his booby tomboy childhood friend. Turns out some big-boob Corruption Goddess has chosen him as her vessel. Bro meets another busty NPC, a half-demon, and they set off on an adventure together in the dungeon.
Nothing original/interesting, just gooner brain-rot.
First dialog between MC and FMC is fantastic they are both great characters, the childhood friend however I found myself absolutely hating, I'm sure she'll be back in the MC good graces at some point but I find myself not even wanting that. But at the same time I want the rekindling friendship we all know will turn to lovers. As I said characters are great, the story is fine, this is clearly going to be a longer series but we probably could have had the first book go a little longer. I'm sure Hankyu chose to do this so we had a good stopping point but I just didn't get enough out of the story in this one to really judge it being more than just mediocre. Hopefully the next one is a little longer and my opinion will change.
The MC is weak but driven little bitch boy. the mc gets betrayed by everyone and sentenced to death basically but miraculously survives and is so filled with anger and hate he corrupts his own soul. Does this make him into a vengeful badass ? No he is a nice guy shy virgin who stutters when a girl talks to him. It's a straight up whiney bitch fest. I don't think the author knew what he was trying to accomplish. Has a lot anime troupe feel and a definitely moral code anime is know for which is supper confusing since its supposed to be a harem novel.
I feel this author did a great job at making a lit RPG book. I notice a few small similarities to a few anime shows, nothing major. I always wanted to take some of the best aspects of an anime and roll them all into 1 and make a great book. I am hooked and ready for the next book.
Lacking in greater detail has we get the protagonist POV but really some of the other chacthers personality were underwhelming has you could’ve added Interludes to show what they thought at certain moments and what they where doing by them selfs.
Even though the harem elements take some time to fully manifest, I quite enjoyed this book. Fun plot, even if it's not very original, it's very well executed. I really look forward for book 2 !
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was fun and entertaining. The story and characters were incredibly interesting and engaging. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. This book is definitely worth checking out.
