A small book with nice facts about and photos of butterflies. I liked the picture of the colorful bird with the butterfly in its mouth and the sequential photos of caterpillars coming out of their eggs and butterflies coming out of their chrysalises.

I chose "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" for the twin text for this book because once the caterpillar turns into a butterfly, the kids can learn about what he will do as a butterfly since the book ends right after he becomes a butterfly. In the nonfiction text, it shows what the butterfly does to help the Earth (Pollination, etc), so children can further their knowledge of Caterpillars/butterflies after they read "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by reading "It's a Good Thing There Are Butterflies"
