POV:: A Hapless Young Girl

A Hapless Young Girl

We were two different worlds, two estranged tales, two ends, how did it ever entwine? Feels surreal to this day.

At first sight, no, there wasn’t any amor, just the hormones at play. Given her wardrobe malfunction and her neon-pink hair strands, I thought she was a ‘girly pop’, but never saw the hapless young girl, never knew she was woebegone, this smothered in life, completely. Looks were definitely deceiving. Not just me, none could judge this book by its cover.

She wasn’t ‘miss-influenced’ though, rather the oddest one out, especially from her BFFs, typical ‘Gen-Z’ girls who beguiled only-fans, but for her, it was only-me, was!

None escaped their midlife crisis, mine kicked in a lot earlier, and it was the same time I met her too. We weren’t ‘opposites-attract’. Our story wasn’t an everyday boy-meets-girl romance novel, even when it has heaps and loads of it, just as much as the pain and the gloom.

Our bond thickened, and so did the plot, but we never expected the twist. It made me set on a journey that unearthed her past, which had a thick fog of mystery surrounding it……until the last word!
