The main downfall of this book and series is that I have to wait to continue the journey until the next book releases. Great read even if it felt like it was too short or ended too soon.
More action in this book with less worthless repeated information. I see some improvement in the authors writings. Hopefully he continues to improve and gets some native English help so that it continues to make more sense and flow better. The storyline over alk has been great.
The Dragon King has been reborn, but nobody believes them. At least, not completely. To make it worse, he’s disappeared, so the Panthers are sent out to follow every rumor of a sighting to find him. While Nilsa stays in the capital to help Gondabar, the rest pair off on their individual adventures. Ingrid and Viggo travel to his old hometown to check out disappearances of the locals on Krystall Lake. Egil and Gerd to consult with an Erudite mage on his knowledge of dragons and how to kill them. Meanwhile, Lasgol and Astrid investigate a report of the presence of Defenders at the ruins of an old estate and discover a draconian treasure.
But all that is interrupted by the Royal Wedding of the Century and its convoluted headache of security. It’s going to a very interesting marriage. Kind of like The Taming of the Shrew only the man is almost as bad. Going to be fun watching him put her in her place.
Fave scenes: the books in the tower, Viggo’s first act as leader, the description of the Grand Gala Dinner and Lasgol’s Plan B.
I did enjoy the book but not as much as the books earlier in the series. The earlier books where the team known as the Panthers were undertaking training and then their earlier exploits were fantastic, and I was hanging onto every word. It's starting to drag on a bit now, and I have noted much repetition in the narrative, and at times its even now getting a little boring. It would be good to bring this adventure to a conclusion. I am hope the next (17th) winds it all up with a bang. Don't think I'll carry on reading if it doesn't, which is a shame.
Book 16 was still a fun read and has errors throughout. Again the characters are split up and do their own thing for a bit. The king calls them all back for the royal wedding to avert violence and so the wedding goes off without a hitch. Of course it causes problems and the plot has a few good twists. With the wedding so close, the Panthers are to stay in the capital and they feel something is wrong and are anxious to find the immortal dragon. I look forward to the next book.
I think the author played it safe. Come on Orten should have stayed dead. You gather all those leaders and nothing happens permanently? Eicewald dying was unfortunate, Trotter done meant nothing for me, guess I'm heartless ha. Viggo's side adventure was great. Egil's studies of weapons that can kill a dragon was interesting. Molak filling in for Lasgol was interesting. Even for a brief moment. Dergha-Sho Blaska attacking Lasgol's camp was awesome. Overall, it was a good story. Once again, the author does a great job setting up future book plots. onto the next book.

Lasgol and his friends, the Royal Eagles, aka the Panthers, are in the middle of events. First, is the search for the dragon that reincarnated in the fossilized dragon body. Secondly, King Thoran is getting married. Royal disputes, espionage, assassination, treason all swirl around the wedding. Some near deaths happen as does the death of a major character. I recommend this book.
Lots of Political intrigue at the wedding of the king which ends with him declaring war on one of the kingdoms. Lasgol went in search of a weapon for which will kill a dragon. Not only does he obtain one but on his return he has an interesting encounter that nearly kills him and he finds out something new about himself and a little more about his bloodline. This series is starting to get more and more interesting and I for one will be looking forward to finding out what happens next.
I have read each and every book to this point. The opening of this, The Druid Queen. At the beginning of this nook the antipathy the Queen feels towards the Panthers is made clear! BUT….I did not read anout her in any of the previous books!? Do, What did I miss?!
This book is a continuation of the whole adventure of the Snow Panthers. It's fun to read. It will make you laugh out loud a few times. It's also a very good set up for the showdown with the dragon. I'm interested to see how Thoran and his brother react to news of the existence of a dragon and to find out how the king is eliminated.
While I’m willing to recommend this book I must disclose to you that I’ve read all 20 in the series. The last book is an unmitigated disaster. The author was clearly tired of the work and just gave up. You can enjoy the journey if you want but trust me when I tell you that you will be utterly devastated. I can’t get over it. I’ll never read another one of his books again. You have been warned
Eiceward;-(( I gotta keep reading to see how the Panthers will end the greatest threat to humankind! When will that Dragon attack? What is it planning? That Druid Queen to me has her own agenda which I believe will end in some sort of a nasty plot. Only 4 more books to go! I am in for the ride :-)
It seems as the characters have grown older and are maturing, the story has become more sophisticated and complex. All in a great way. I found the direction of the story entertaining, fascinating, and hard to put down. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series!
What a great adventure for the Panthers! Twist turns and new places! Hope to see more of the new peoples and country. But the cliffhanger at the end has me excited for the next adventure!
The plot thickens. A wedding for power, an assassin attempt, and an evil dragon. What more could one ask for in a story. Excellent job. The death of a favorite character is hard but no spoiler here.
I thought this was a better book then the last few the plays by kk grins at thrones was a great way to build suspense and the ending left me wanting to actually start reading the next book unlike the last few books that have made me want to stop reading the series in general
I am so looking forward to reading and continuing with these books. I am so excited and full of dread but hopeful. The adventure continues and hopefully in the end Egil will regain the throne. Long live the true king or is he?
Very interesting book like all of them are the twist and turns and see how they fare against the Dragon I've enjoyed this book and the other books like it. I recommend this book to anybody like sci-fi I think you would enjoy it.
Another great book in the Path of the Ranger series. I cannot recommend this series enough for action adventure fans that love series like Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings! On to book 17!!
The writing is fun and the oaths are sometimes unexpected. This is a truly epic length saga of the Snow Panthers from book to book. Looking forward to reading the next installment.
Finally! Poor Egil makes a decision that is incredibly important. The team is preparing to fight a foe that is more powerful than they are...I am worried for them. I don't want anyone to come to harm ..I need to get on to the next book!
Wow! There are so many twists and turns that one can't help but keep turning the pages. The Panthers are up against the realm and finding the dragon. The whole kingdom is in an uproar with the royal wedding that's going to take place.
I enjoy these stories and know that having a character die adds to the gravity of the stories, but it seems that so many stories just have those deaths to show they’re not afraid to eliminate a character. That aspect becomes very predictable. Otherwise, it’s a great read and I look forward to the next book and to see Lasgol finally access and use his great magical powers. It’s been 16 books. It’s about time he completely repairs his inner bridge and can start using his full power.
