When they say, “It’s the quiet ones you have to watch” they were talkin’ about Poppi. At first glance, Poppi comes off as very demur, soft spoken, and sweet. But, don’t let the good girl facade fool you. Poppi got them hands and a slick mouth, and she don’t mind usin’ either of them. Just ask Mika. But, Poppi really is just a simple girl who lives a simple life. When she wants to get away from the drama that always seems to follow her, she goes to her place of peace. Her flower shop. Flo’s Petals is where Poppi can let her creativity shine and drown out all of the negativity.
Memphis has been in love with Poppi since the day she walked up the driveway of the McCorvey Manor draggin’ her wagon full of flowers. She’s unlike any other girl he’s ever dated and, he wants him some Poppi Hood. But, his heauxish reputation leaves a bad taste in Poppi’s mouth. Memphis is for the streets and she’s not tryin’ to get her heart broken. But, Memphis was all gas no breaks honey. He was loyal, intentional, attentive, and he was a protector. I know this is a novella and ish, but damn! The buildup, and then leave us like that? 🤬😤
Memphis and Poppi initially were like oil and water, but something about that mix just worked for them. It took Poppi forever and a day to get with the program, that Memphis was feeling her ass, but when she did, it was full speed ahead.
Boston and Shayna's coupling was weird, as it felt like it came out of nowhere. There has to be more to their story, and why they got married. Nikki and Eddie as well, we jumped in time and she is engaged, when we know nothing about this 🥷🏾. Where he come from? 👀
Just as we were enjoying the drama that Memphis' father was spreading all over town, Poppi witnesses some ish that is sure to destroy friendships and marriages. Why are Shayna and Mika together anyway? This bout to get messy! Memphis and Boston are ready for war, and I wonder who will make it out alive. Hmmmm..... we need the rest of this story asap ma'am.

where is the rest??
This is my kinda book and Poppi is my kinda girl. She was gonna thump no matter what and had that green thumb. Now Sir Memphis is a M A N. He handles Big Business and he a Big Stepper about his. These two are so IT together. Oh yea that drama/background stuff was giving what it needed to add to the story.

I have no idea why I waited so long to read this! Cause I absolutely loved every second of it.
One thing is for certain: DO NOT PLAY WITH POPPI! Cause she will not hesitate to drag you like a rag doll for playing in her face or anybody she loves.
and it's something about a hard and tough man that's afraid to tell the girl how they feel because of their fear of rejection. Like SIR, you'll handle all the dudes in the streets but telling a woman how you feel is what scares you the most??? literally cracking up.
My girl Poppi folded like a dang deck of cards for her man. AND I wasn't mad about it at all.
My favorite part: The gift from Mems took me all the way out. The way I was cracking up and kicking my feet dying at it! Also, putting his name in the race, ikyyk, this man is crazy bout his girl!
This was a really fun read and I was really invested in this novella. I am running to the follow up because I need answers and I need them now!!

entertaining, quick read
I really enjoyed this quick read. Memphis wasn’t coming off Hood the moment he got her. Like that man was obsessed. The tea in this story was HOT!
Although it was a novella, some of the details could’ve been fleshed out a little. My major issue with this story is that Memphis was such an alpha man that I don’t see him playing the background for 8 years. That was just off. I also think it’s weird that Memphis and Boston didn’t know about each others relationship like at all. I don’t understand Mika’s problem. Was it just jealousy? Why was the press on Memphis, just because he was rich?
Chapter one should’ve been a prologue and the next chapter should’ve said 8 years later not 4 months later. It was confusing. The editing could’ve been tightened up a little.

Hood 💐-Omg she ain’t no joke. I love that she’s strong mentally and physically. She stood on business and was not playing with them clowns! She protected Nikki and I respect her for that. The way you folded like a lawn chair for Memphis was everything!!!! Yes Queen get your man!!!

I hope there’s a follow up to this book because the cliffhanger was not cool at cool. Memphis and Poppi were good together. Poppi was not the one to play with, she was a real one. It started off a little slow to me but it once it got going, it was so good.

I love when both people communicate, ride for each other and you could feel it. That was exactly what Memphis and Poppi have. Now Poppi was my girl till the very end and what an end it was. Poppi was that girl and the best person as a friend. That ending 🤬🤯😮

There was a lot going on and also nothing at the same time. So many things were picked up and put down never to come up again…I also assume this is going to be a series of at least have a part two…I didn’t really care for the cliffhanger not because I don’t like them it was just very obvious…at least to me. From when Boston showed up in the first pages of the book and Nikki’s relationship with them like duh lol but I think the length of the book really hindered my ability to be in the story and stay there. There was just too much going on

This was good. Loved the FMC. Poppi was just tryna live her best life with her flowers and people kept testing her. One thing is certain Poppi was delivering hands as well as flowers. Add Memphis to the mix and you got the cutest territorial couple lol. Good story line. Couple of twists. There’s betrayal. Ends on a cliff hanger but I overall enjoyed it.

I was kinda in confusion Chile.. I didn’t like the constant jump we start and she young then it says 3 months later in italics and then right under it in regular font we talmbout eight years and preparing for marriage (lost asf) went back twice to reread cause i thought i was tripping or something… Nikki kept acting like she didn’t want to get married but she just marrying this man but she’s not really in love. Mika was a b word capital b… Shayna was overly hype but I didn’t expect the twist. Boston was talking about counseling but nothing was wrong and he didn’t love his wife but he didn’t believe in divorce (insert head scratch)

Ok so off rip the ending left me literally at the edge of my seat and I was big mad. When it didn’t go past the last page I read to follow up with to be continued or the rest of the stuff that comes after when reading. The damn book didn’t even say the end!! Now that thats out of the way…..
This was a fully packed Novella. It gives you all of the back story and longing that makes for a great love stories. Baby the longing and desire from both Poppi and Memphis would have been to much for me to wait that long. The way the come about and being in each others fold was the sweetest part of the book to me. There was never a club that it was going to be everything and more!!! However just like life there is always some damn drama at the hand of some who are closest to you. Poppies momma and sister can kiss her ass and I wish hood would come of of poppi and pop her sister. Then them snake sneaking bitches fucking with her best friend knowing good and well she don’t play about those close to her. I loved that about Memphis Boston and Poppi. Poor Nikki needed to stick with the tree of them and call it a damn day. They were more that what she needed in life. Thanks for Nikki pushing on both her best friend Poppi and her brother Memphis to see that they needed to give them a try and they they would be an epic love story.

Love this book. Picked it up. Didn’t put it down until I was completely finished, and it took me less than an hour. I don’t really know how to explain my feelings about this book and it could be the ending that’s messing with my feelings as well because WHAT YOU DO THAT FOR? I’m normally OK with cliffhangers but in this instance. No! I wanted more. Hopefully in the next book, my feelings will be resolved because I do believe it’s a continuation of this book with Boston and Nikki, so we shall see.

The way that I’m immediately starting book two after reading this! Memphis and Poppi were literally made for each other and they had the sweetest story. So glad that Poppi finally realized what was for her and that Memphis didn’t give up trying. Can’t wait to see where the second novella leads us! Definitely a fan of M.Monique after devouring this book.

This author needs to establish a master class on how to craft book baes because whew, Memphis!!! The chemistry between Memphis and Hood set the pages on fire! The story in the wings is Boston and Nikki and it looks like the snakes in the garden exposed is going to set a new course for them and I cannot wait! Why the author put us in a chokehold like that...no she didn't!!! She's back!!!!!

Poppi, Poppi, Poppi ! I love her ! I love Memphis for her! This book was a show of how money and status is nothing when it comes to the hearts desires. It seemed like one obstacle after another came to ruin Poppi but Memphis was there every step of the way.

I enjoyed this short Novella. I liked Poppi and Memphis relationship. Poppi was not playing around with Memphis and she is one of my favorite FMCs. I will be reading the next book because I need to know how this series ends.

Cause Memphis didnt play the radio with NOBODY including Hood and my girl didn’t play, she didn’t care who you were, anybody could get it at anytime. Hood stayed on GO, but all it took was for Memphis to show her who ran things for her to sit down somewhere.
