"Her characters are as wacky as one would except from a professional comedienne. This book won't scare you to death, but it may make you die from laughing...." Heartland Reviews.
Two of my favorite things are Stand up comedy and murder mystery's! I love, love them! So what better book to read then this right!? UGH!!! The book was NOT funny! The "jokes" were just stupid! I could have found better jokes in one of those 5,000 jokes books. The author is supposed to be a comedian so I was expecting much more. This book badly needs new cover and a editor! UGH, so many mistakes that just made parts of the book that much more annoying to read. The characters were not horrible but I was not as attached as I would have liked to have been, and the plot of the book was, well just a horrible let down. It was a horribly boring murder/mystery.
I got this at a library book sale for a dime. And I got it for the cover. The setting of the Minneapolis comedy scene around 2000 was fascinating because not one single joke in the book was funny. It was incredible. But the ridiculous mystery kept me entertained I guess.
Well, this was a freebie, so maybe I shouldn't have expected more.... The story itself is good - interesting with all the main characters (including the amateur sleuth) being stand up comedians. However there were so many typos and strange grammar and missed words in the text that it really did detract from the reading experience.
