Ilia, the 13th prince of a small kingdom, was born an unexpected—and very much unwanted—omega whose birth brought shame upon his royal family. As the lowest-ranking member and an omega, he is destined for a political marriage meant to improve his kingdom’s standing.
Resigned to his fate, Prince Ilia travels to his new faraway home. Upon entering the king’s gilded palace, where he’s expecting to meet his future husband, he instead finds a mysterious young boy with an unsettling message.
I‘m honestly not that hyped up about this like everyone else😕 …maybe my expectations were too high. But I’ll read the second volume as well and hope it will take some turns.
First incursion into omegaverse (this review is for the whole series) and I should say I didn't know what I was expecting, but it was quite mild to what I had thought it would be. The art, like always with this author is stunning, I love her style, but the story needed a bit more depth and character development, it was a bit rushed. In this world in addition to the biological sexes there're three more genres, alpha, beta and omega. And those can bear children regardless of their biological sex. I liked Ilya, he is a male omega prince that was sold into a marriage to a prince of a foreign country, so his bankrupcy country could gain money from his marriage. I liked he isn't what an omega should be, he doesn't want to be defined by his biology, and he fights it. He was expecting the worst due to how omegas are seen in his birth country , but when he arrived to his new home he is quite surprised about how omegas are seen and treated there. I was shocked when I met Khalid I wish the author would have put more attention to the political part of the plot and explained better all the implications and how Ilya and Khalid became the men they were in the second volume. We get very little of that, only some sentences, and it's a pity because the political plot had promise. Overall, I liked this story and I how the romance was solved in the end.
I really loved this couple and the story was interesting, but the finale was bittersweet, not bcs it was bad, but bcs in the last pages of the last chapter we saw a couple of friends(?) talking about the couple as if they were gone long time ago, like they were the history of the country and not the present. So we can presume they died(of old age) and many years passed and other kings and queens happened. Still good, but I would have liked it more if this part wasn't added. I still liked the fact that they didn't let anything happen when they met for the first time, since the Omega was 18 and the Alpha king only 10. They were also separated for 8 years, and while not mated with eo(bcs too young) they still didn't betray the other. The Omega was brave and had a really strong personality and the Alpha was incredibly kind and brave too.
The Palace of the Omega was a fun read and set up future volumes for exciting adventures.
Vol. 1 caught my attention even though not much happened with the plot as the foundation was being built. The story between the Omega and the king was well handled, as when they first meet the King is clearly a minor.
The evolution of the omega as a protector of the weak in the battle against the evil brother.
The description is a bit odd and doesn't really match the story. Ilia is the 13th prince of an impoverished kingdom, and an omega to boot, greatly reviled. He has one use, and that is to marry well. So he's made a consort of the king of a rich kingdom. The king turns out to be a child of ten, so the marriage is only a formality and Ilia is confined to the palace harem. No mysterious messages what so ever involved. They strike a friendship of sorts, and then a coup turns things upside down.
I'm not a fan of a child-adult dynamic in a romance, especially the kind here where it's clear some romantic feelings are involved, plus Ilia goes into heat. There's a time jump of eight years half-way through, so the romance should be better in coming volumes. There will also be war and political machinations. I didn't really like the story enough to continue though. Art was good.
I received a free copy from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.
Firstly, the art in this manga is beautiful. It's probably the strongest aspect about it. Everything is lush in detail from the characters, to their clothing, to the backgrounds. The story is a rehash of a lot of LGBTQIA+ omegaverse tropes but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It does end on a cliffhanger so be warned. My main issue is that the story involves the romantic leads meeting when one is an adult and one is a child. At the end of this volume, this is still true. I think some people might find that not to their tastes. It didn't necessarily bother me, as I've read many other manga that have done this. But I wish I had known that when going in. Overall, I still enjoyed this volume enough to read the next one.
Ok, it was VERY entertaining. At first I didn't like it very much because it was about a child's wedding, but as the story progresses, years go by because "things happened" haha and that made it lighter, but aside from that, the story is very interesting and very entertaining, I seriously got hooked and now I want to read more because it became very interesting!!! (The art is very beautiful and I am in love with Ilia✨)
Amazing... the art is absolutely stunning and i was honestly so sad when when Khalid disappeared but honestly when he showed up again I think i jumped with joy.. but like that time skip was so long? 😭 but honestly I do love Ilyas and Khalids relationship its so pure are cute I am looking forward to buying the next physical vol even though I have reread this story atleast 20 times online

Okay this is unlike any Omegaverse I've read so far. Admittedly all I've read of Omegaverse is manga and watching the ABO Desire show, but this was different. A historical fantasy style where the world almost seems to have a mix of Nordic, Arabic (Or Persian ig? Middle Eastern stuff isn't really my forte) and East Asian inspired cultures judging from the architecture, character and fashion designs.
The story itself wasn't Omegaverse focused either. Yes most nobility and royalty are stated to be Alphas, Omegas are rare and considered almost no better than slaves and the main character, Ilia, is an Omega, but it isn't the focus? It feels much more story focused that just happens to be Omegaverse.
Admittedly when Ilia's husband was revealed to be a 10 year old boy, I was concerned, but nothing really happens between them. They clearly do have a bond of sorts but it seems to be more out of mutual respect and more of a elder/younger sort of dynamic? Ilia does care for Khalid but it seems more from the fact that Khalid actually treats him like a person. Likewise Khalid does care for Ilia, but again probably because Ilia is honest and doesn't hero worship him.
I did NOT read the reviews before jumping into this read. HI YES HELLO IF YOU ARE READING THIS BEFORE OPENING THE MANGA, PLEASE KNOW THE MARRIAGE IS TO A LITERAL CHILD. The king is a child. The art is gorgeous, the storyline THE PLOT is excellent, the character development and seeing their relationship grow is so awe-inspiring...But it's also very clearly a historical-inspired story that romanticizes the idea of a child both being groomed into power and being married to an adult.✨ . Truly stunning artwork. Some pannels are so rich in details that I stopped my scrolling & processing of the story to absorb the image. I appreciate the deep respect the pair have for one another and how complex the emotions are portrayed.🤌 Beautiful. 🤌 Stunning. 🤌 Simply 🤌stunning🤌. I think this might be going into my favorites. I think this might be a nice read even for people who don't typically enjoy omegaverse, it's really well done and does not read as too heavy. I would greatly recommend this read! 🥹💗🤌🥹💗🤌
Ich habe es sehr gerne gelesen und sofort den zweiten Band jetzt bestellt. Es macht mir auf jeden Fall Spaß und ich mag die Hauptcharaktere, den Tiger und auch Suya ist sehr sympathisch. :)
tw/cw: animal in captivity/Tiger als Haustier, versuchter sexueller Übergriff (nicht Hauptcharakter), Misogynie, Vorurteile Omega gegenüber, Schlachten/Kriege/Überfälle/Rebellen
The art is gorgeous the storyline is incredibly but the only thing that rubs me the wrong way is the age gap. I understand that they don’t become romantically involved until after the time skip when they’re separated and meet again but it’s still weird since the MC knew Khalid since he was 10 years old. Strange age gap
The age gap was a lot to get over. I feel like they could have just moved their ages in closer just a smidgen and had the same effect while being a lot less creepy. Yes, the 8 year separation does a lot of work to make things less weird when they actually get together. But that’s still the first whole half of the story with the king being TEN YEARS OLD WHEN THEY MARRY. “It’s illegal in this county for children under 18 to have sex.” But that is still a whole ass adult married to a ten year old with the expectation that they will be romantically and sexually involved with each other eventually. Just feel like it was an attempt to fix the usual power dynamics in an alpha/omega story that instead created a new separate problem.
But if you forget that aspect of things, the art is great and the rest of the plot is pretty good. Falls into some tropes you tend to get with omega stories, but I count it as a win when there isn’t any sexual assault. There’s a looming threat there, but it’s not in the main relationship and Ilya saves himself. So a win’s a win.
*using this upcoming release as a placeholder for accidentally reading both volumes via a probably stollen upload to KU.
The series follows Ilia, an omega and the 13th prince of a small kingdom. Because omegas are basically trash, Ilia is sent off to another kingdom to be consort to the king in an arranged political marriage. He meets the king, who is a child at this point, and the two start to develop quite a sweet relationship. Don't worry, it doesn't get creepy.
I don't really want to say much else because a lot happens in this volume. It's quite plot heavy with no real romance to speak of since one is a child. There's quite a bit of drama and heartbreak, but there are also some sweet and hopeful moments. The art is beautiful too. Can't wait for the next volume.
the art is *chefs kiss* …. but what in the hell is that atrocious age gap! a 10 year old alpha is absolutely insane, making the story feel icky at times. don't get me wrong, the plot has interesting aspects .. but it's mainly lacklustre so far.
Tw: Fantasy sexism and bigotry, implied sexual assault (does not happen), child marriage
If you do not take issue with the omegaverse world building or the child marriage (older omega, child alpha - no sexual contact) | do think this a surprisingly soft manga that is worth checking out.
Read: September 19,2025 Parental advisory: Age gap relationship between the main characters(the love interest is a child who is age 10 for the first 3 chapters and 18 for the final chapter of volume 1) This story has potential but unfortunately the story had a rough start and I don't think it can recover in only two volumes. The story centers are Ilia the 13th prince of a small kingdom and an omega sold to a neighboring kingdom Hanu as a consort to it's young king Khalid. Omega are seen as a lower rank in most societies but in Hanu Omega are seen as Messenger to their highest rank God. At first Ilia is cynical about his new life in the Kingdom of Hanu but as he spends more time with the people of Hanu he realizes he might be treated with compassion and kindness for the first time in his life. However one of Khalid's oldest brothers Zayn decides to plot an assassination attempt against the young king and takes over the kingdom. Ilia who refuses to be the consort of the new king decides to jump to his death only to be saved by the people of Hanu. The story of Palace is interesting and a good quick palace drama story to read on the weekend or in-between other books however like 5 nin no ou it has the problem of it's author and artist using the fantasy setting as an excuse to have yet another age gap relationship between a character who appears as an adult and one who is stated to be 10 years old and even appear even as a little younger(Khalid looks around 8 years old). Luckily nothing sexual has happened between the two characters while Kahlid is still a young boy but this doesn't change the fact that Illya is meant to be his consort and that they have kissed at least twice. I thought it was strange that Ilia mentioned Khalid being a virgin. That was unnecessary to state especially about a child. All of Ilia's interactions have been only with Khalid while he is still a child. I've read reviews that stated Khalid is an adult after the second time skip - they clearly lied. Khalid is still a child during this time but instead of being a 10 years old boy he is now a teenager. Teenagers are still children. Someone isn't magically an adult at 13-19. It disgusts me to no end that some people - that society is constantly defending and justifying sexual interactions between teenagers and adults as if that behavior was ever normal. This series fanbase is everything wrong with yaoi fans especially the heterosexual/straight female side the fanbase. All these women care about is smut scenes between two male characters they find attractive even if the scenes involve a child and an adult. Like with 5 nin no ou I will not read the yaoi scenes while Khalid is still young because I don't like the age gap between the characters. Luckily he is starting to look older and instead of younger unlike 5 nin no ou where Seiji looks younger every volume and is constantly carried around.(face palm) It's a shame because their relationship could have been interesting and maybe even romantic because of Khalid's kindness and caring personally but unfortunately their interactions are overshadowed by the age gap between Khalid and Ilia.
Edit: Oh I forgot to mention that this story is written by two authors who share the same one part of each name. Fumi is one person and Tsuyuhisa is another person. I couldn't help but remember the duo Fujiko F. Fujio (the writers and artists of Doraemon) and the fictional writer and artist duo Saiko Shuji (Moritaka Mashiro and Akito Takagi) from the manga Bakuman.
