From the creator of Hidden Gem and Sour Apple comes a new out-of-this-world picture book about a star who loses their shine from the pressures of over-achieving.
Being the star that people wish on is demanding work! And when the burden of performing becomes too much to bear, even celestial bodies take a hit.
As a star falls from their sky-high position, their self-esteem takes a real nosedive. But a lift from an unlikely source gives this star a new purpose, along with the courage to glow again.
Cute book about what happens to a star when they become a falling star. It rhymed, the illustrations were beautiful, it was easy to understand, age appropriate (4+), and it was short. Overall, 4/5 stars ⭐️ would recommend.
This started out ok. It became a real downer and used negative words like shame, blame and embarrassment that didn't seem to go with the story. It became more positive towards the end, but for me, it was too late to save the story

I'm not crazy about the rhyming scheme and I feel like it kind of goes too far into self deprecation before the pick-me-up ending. Love the illustrations, though.
