Mental calamity befalls Joy after watching the movie Super Deep; subsequently she’s consistently haunted by a particular scene from the movie. Time, they say heals all wounds, she felt her ordeal was temporary and that over time her mind would heal and she would forget the disturbing scene from the movie. But time was far from healing her, the condition instead exacerbated over time as she deteriorated from constantly seeing the back of the girl in Super Deep which was ridden with closely packed holes inflicted by a fungus infection, to seeing all kinds of skin diseases and injuries infested with maggots and then to hearing a voice which prompted her to suicide.
In a bid to overcome the neurosis, Joy decides that she must balance medical treatment with spiritual she visits one prophet after the other without being particular about religion; she goes from Pastor, to Mallam, and traditionalist in search of help, and gets the same response over and over again, that the movie had acted as a portal through which a spirit had possessed her and that the spirit was bent on destroying her life and pushing her into committing suicide.
