I binge read this book in one day! What can I say?! It was a page turner!!! This book was amazing, and unpredictable! I sat and said to myself “man, I love them both, how could she pick?!” The plot twist?! 🤯 AND when I thought the twist was over? There was another one! Spice was good, plot was good, characters were good! Loved it!
This book was great, and I can’t wait to read more from this author! 🫶🏻
Oh my goodness, what a book. Well I wasn't sure how much I was going to like this book, the synopsis sounded interesting but I'm not always enamoured with gangster type themes. However, it's very light in this book which is far more story driven. There are some really surprising twists in the plot, one you just won't see coming, and some very well written spicy sex. This is definitely over 18's book. The sex does not over power the story, in fact it enhances it. I personally found the use of the word unalive weird as it's not a word we use here in the UK, either dead or kill but unalive just jarred with me. However, back to the book. It's action all the way, two gorgeous men, no not reverse harem, and a tale that will make you want to keep reading until the end. I loved it. I was given a copy of this book by voracious readers only for an honest review. I always give an honest review.
There are a few trigger warnings for this book so be sure to look those up before starting!!
Millia is forced into a marriage to Mik (her father’s employee) by her father, to protect her from his enemy. She grows to love him but she also loves Derek (another employee of her father’s), who will she choose?
The twists were probably obvious to some but I missed most of them. There is sex, violence, romance, and more in this mafia style romance with multiple tropes and trigger warnings all wrapped up in a 200 page novel.
This book has potential to be higher rated but needs a little work in the editing department due to typos and confusing lines. Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read the book for free In return for an honest review.
So I am binge-reading and this book is the second one of the day Something Borrowed get 4/5 stars from me. This entire book was a rollercoaster of emotions. We have a love triangle, a mystery player on the board set on taking her for an unknown reason, and a dad set on controlling her life. I couldn't put this book down. My heart was truly torn between her first love, Derek, and her new love, Mik. As if that battle wasn't enough, there is a third player on the board whose motives are unknown. Throw in the absolute nuke that was her plot twist, and you've got a page-turner.
-Love triangle -forced marriage -touch her and die vibes -strong fmc -protective mmc(s)
The way I felt about this book changed as I read it so I’m going with a right-in-the-middle 3⭐️. There were decent amount of typos and I personally didn’t like where the story ended up going, even though it was an unpredictable twist. That being said, there was an unexpected twist and the plotline (along with the love triangle) was intriguing.
I really like this book! I read it on a rainy day and it was a perfect read. A young woman falls in love with her security agent but her father separates them and forces her to marry someone more suitable. Much to her surprise she begins to have feelings for him. Who will she pick? The twists and turns are delicious.
This book was Stella Ashley’s debut novel and I loved it! This book was soooooo freaking good! I loved the tropes; love triangle, forced marriage, protective alpha MMC and a stubborn FMC.
I don't want to spoil anything at all so it's hard to say anything about the story itself, all I can say is that the plottwists were really completely surprising. I really couldn't put this book down and it had to be read in 1 sitting.
This book is so nicely written, it is surprising, fast paced, SPICY, surprising, suspenseful, heart wrenching and did I mention it was surprising? Really, I didn't see the big plot twist coming at all... I'm still flabbergasted! And so in love with this book! Ahhhhh wished I could read it again as a first timer!
This book is like a rough draft that never met an editor or a spellcheck. The writing is painfully elementary, with choppy sentences and awkward phrasing that genuinely feels like it was written by a 16-year-old with a Wattpad account.
The grammatical and spelling errors are diabolical. Not occasional typos, but constant, distracting mistakes that make you stop reading the story and start scanning for what’s wrong next. At some point, the error-spotting became my only reason to keep reading.
I highlighted 40 errors and I know I missed some because I skipped some paragraphs and read ahead because the author kept repeating herself. She used "gahhh" and "gawd" a lot and I cringed every time. She even misspells her character's names, Mikoli written as MIkoli and Derek written as Derk. Adrenaline spelled as adrenalin. Wrought-iron fence written as rot-iron fence. Oh and she used a lot of wowa, which is supposed to be wow? How did this book get published?!
By the end, it felt less like reading a novel and more like proofreading a homework assignment no one bothered to revise.
The worst torture ever was when I had to put this book down to go to work! It's fast paced, intense, heartwrenching and had twists I did not see coming! And when I thought it was over I was surprised again! I could turn around and read this book again! Enjoyed it tremendously!
Ok so this book had me on my toes the whole time! I was constantly trying to guess who she would choose and never saw the curveball coming!!! I was SHOCKED! Great spice level too 🌶🌶🌶🌶
This book was mostly fun, could be a little cheesy but it definitely had its sexy parts. Not sure I need to look into the next one. The amount of typos and plain old wrong words in the book almost pushed me to not even finish it.
oh my goodness I loved this book, the synopsis drew me in with lots of action, gorgeous and sexy men with spice and steamy romance, could not get enough of it!
