You can’t hide your feelings from me- they’re visible
I had a job to do, one mission my father expected me to fulfill without fail. If I was to take my rightful place when he stepped down, I would have to obey my orders.
I wasn’t counting on being disturbed or turning into the one possessed.
All it took was one evening.
It was her, and her sapphire satin. Her long brown hair was swept over one shoulder.
Her sparkling ocean eyes threatened to drown me. She was with someone else, but her spirit was seeking mine, not his, as if we were two halves of a whole.
It was as if I'd always known her; been waiting for her.
She never saw me, but I saw her.
Going through the motions as I always have, I knew I didn’t want the life I had. It was all I knew.
I wasn’t ungrateful for the opportunities afforded me coming from a family of wealth, but I wasn’t fulfilled either.
When the dark and mysterious stranger shows up, I’m certain it’s just a dream. It has to be. He has to be.
But none of it’s a dream. Not the other world. Not the magic. It’s all very real.
I don’t know if I want to run away from him or run straight into him. What I do know is my life will never be the same now that I’ve fallen for Ramone.
A devil I burn for.
Set in the Empty Wishing House world, this novel featuring new and known characters may be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. The second half of the Burning Duet, Burn for the Witch, will be released early next year.

This is a dark book with intense subject matter and morally grey characters.
This book had everything a dark romance should - some stalking, murder, and spice. I loved reading both points of views of our main characters Ramone and Samantha. You were able to see how each of them were dealing with their own problems - including each other. I had a few favorite parts, one of them involving Timothy (who is a total a**hole). I was quite happy how that ended. This was the first book I've read of Larissa's, and I very much enjoyed it. Her writing style pulled me in and I read the entire book in one sitting because I couldn't put it down.
Vincente excels in crafting a richly detailed world that immerses readers in its dark allure. Her writing skillfully enhances the characters' development, providing a compelling evolution from start to finish. The dual POVs offer a deeper understanding of the protagonists' inner thoughts and motivations, making the narrative both engaging and easy to follow.
Please check CW and TW before starting this one. Love that this is a high fantasy book but it seems a bit all over the place a little bit. Felt like there were some story lines not fully fleshed out that left me a little lost. I do feel that if I read some others in this same universe I might have a better understanding. I want to try another one by this author because there were parts that I did really enjoy. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Burn for the Devil by Larissa Vincente is a paranormal romance novel. This is the story of Ramone and Savannah. They make appearances during The Wishing House Trilogy. You certainly do not have to read those books but it helps in understanding world and character building. The way the world is brought forth and discussed is great. I am so happy to see Ramone and Savannah together. This story did leave loads of questions so I can not wait to read the next book.
This is the fourth book I have read by this author and it is a luscious dark romance. It has all the elements that keep you reading and wanting more. I didn’t want the book to end! This book can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading The Empty Wishing House Series first. It will help you understand the world, all the main players, and their points of view. In this book, Ramone is tasked with a specific job by his father, Julian, to receive his birthright. Julian is terrifying, and Ramone gets sidetracked when he falls for Samantha.
Ramone is our MMC. He is the Prince of Darkness. He is dark, deadly, and deliciously handsome. He can make you feel things you’ve never felt. He is portrayed as “the bad guy” in previous books but this book gives us a slightly different experience of him, which I like. He shows more “human” qualities and emotions due to the curse he and his associates are experiencing. Will those qualities remain once the curse has been lifted? I am holding my breath waiting to find out!
Samantha is our FMC. She comes from a wealthy family and owns a witchy shop, although the book mentions that she doesn’t necessarily have to work. Her parents constantly try to play matchmaker because she is “getting old” at 30 and isn’t married yet. We learn that her younger sister died tragically and was addicted to substances. Samantha is a complex character who at first glance seems to glide through life in a dream doing as everyone else wishes. However, she develops her thoughts and feelings about what she wants out of life along the way. It was wonderful to see this kind of growth beginning for her. I hope to see more of it in the next book.
Overall, I loved the book! It has a dual POV, so we hear from Ramone and Samantha. There are mature themes and possible triggers, so I recommend adults-only reading. I loved the banter between Ramone and his associates. I may have fallen a little for the Prince of Darkness. I can’t wait to read the next one!
I’ve read all of Larissa’s books so far and every time they leave me wanting more. I have become so engrossed in the world her books take place in. I recommend starting with the Empty Wishing House trilogy. I know that Ramone is technically meant to be the “bad guy” but I just have a soft spot for him and I’m so glad we are getting more of his story. If you read the Empty Wishing House trilogy and walked away feeling bad that Ramone didn’t get the girl, this will make your heart a little happier. The way this world turned into soooo much more than I ever imagined is epic and I’m obsessed. This is a must read 5/5 ⭐️ Larissa you will forever have a fangirl (ME)!! She is one of my Roman Empire authors, if she writes it, I’m going to read it. These just keep getting better and better, because in each book you learn something new about this world she’s brought to life.
I read this as a stand alone book, not realizing that it is part of an existing universe. As such, I did not understand what the realms were and the types of otherworldly beings that exist. The story has a very slow start, but it picks up after about 20% of the book. Although it is a HEA, there are a lot of unresolved plot lines (Thankfully not a cliffhanger) that I hope are addressed in a future release.
Be prepared for the intense stalking trigger. What I disliked most was the fact that the FMC felt trapped in her own mind due to the MMC’s actions.
Thank you for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. My opinions are my own, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
It took a while to get into Ramone’s story. I had read a previous book that included Ramone and knew of some of his back story and was ready for more understanding of the back story, but I found it lacking. Then his obsession with Samantha and treatment of her was perfect for a dark romance, but felt unfulfilled at times. I would say Ramona does finally receive a HEA, but there are still several questions glittering around that could be addressed with future novels!.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I had higher hopes for this book, but it really wasn’t a smooth read. It seemed to jump around a lot with time and even conversations between characters, I just always felt like I had missed something. I realize that this is apart of other books, but could be read as a stand alone, but assuming it would be a lot more of a smooth read to read others in this world first. The characters definitely have potential, but I may come back to this and then read the second one later, but I was a bit disappointed in this read.
So this was the first book I've read from this author and it was a ✨✨✨✨ star read for me. The only reason it's a 4 ✨ and not five is because I didn't know this book was a spin off of another series with interconnected themes and characters. I plan to go back and start there to see if my view changes from reading the first series. I really enjoyed the characters and the plot. It was a little slow at first but then picked up. This a dark romance and I loved the morally grey characters.
A book about stalking and demons? I really liked this book. The characters were interesting, and I liked how the romance progressed. The story and world kept me glued the whole time. All the books from The Empty Wishing House books/world are entertaining. Cannot wait to read the next book in this series to know more! 4 out of 5 stars.
"Burn for the Devil" is a mesmerizing tale of love, duty, and the supernatural that will leave readers spellbound. Larissa Vincente has crafted a story that is both heart-wrenching and exhilarating, filled with characters who are as flawed as they are captivating. If you're looking for a romance that transcends the ordinary and delves into the mystical, this book is a must-read. Highly recommended for fans of dark romance and supernatural fiction.
This series of books are nothing short of addicting. I love how the author creates a word of magic that leaves you on the edge of your seat holding onto the book for dear life. Ramone is wearing me down. Especially after taking Samantha back "home". He's a character that while on his own agenda, wants to give Samantha the world on a silver platter.
Not a bad book. Definitely liked the premise, but for me it just didn’t feel like everything flowed. There was some buildup in some scenes but mostly it just felt like things happened without leading into what was going on. Liked the characters as well.

Please check the warnings before starting if you are new to this world . This is part of a duet but also interconnected into a series . You do not have to read the previous books to read this but you may want to get a better understanding. This dark, twisted .steamy, stalkery , paranormal romance that you will not want to put down. I can’t wait until the next book is released.

Felt like I was supposed to read a previous series to understand any of this book. Maybe I was but I’m not interested enough to do some digging or even attempt to read another series to read this duet.
