Aisle Come Back to You

Rate this book
They say you can never go back home again, and for Blair Bennett, they may be right.

Ten years ago, Blair fled the stifling small-town existence of Evergreen Grove, Colorado. Now she’s living her dream traveling the world as a well-known concert photographer, thanks in part, to a certain rockstar who helped her move on from her unrequited crush on her best friend, Ford. When she returns home as the maid-of-honor for another childhood friend’s wedding, she’s forced to confront the past; including the cringeworthy confession she made to Ford on his wedding day.

Ford Hastings never expected to find himself as a Bridesman, especially while navigating a messy separation. With Blair back in town, the old feelings he once tried to bury resurface, but after years of radio silence from her end, he’s forced to face the harsh reality that he may have waited too long.

As Blair and Ford navigate the chaos of wedding planning, old regrets, stolen glances, and reemerging feelings, will they learn why fate has kept them apart or has destiny finally brought them back to discover why they always should have been together all long?

✨️This was such a sweet read. I'm a sucker for a good second chance romance. My favorite thing about this book was the friendships! I love a good supportive friend group. This put me through all the emotions- I was giggling, swooning, tearing up, and even frustrated at times 😅. I truly enjoyed reading Blair and Ford's story and found myself wanting more!!

I can't wait to read more from Kristen in the future!

Thank you for allowing me to read and review.
This releases 9/25. I recommend you give this a read if you're a fan of a second chance romance! 🫶💙

I received this book as an ARC for my honest review.

I went back and forth between a 3 & 4 ⭐ for this book. It was a cute concept and I liked bits and pieces but overall felt redundant. It had good plot structure but the played out will they won't they with the main characters not believing the other could have feelings got old. It never felt like there was a big struggle or growth opportunity. The spice was meh and I didn't love their love story as much as id hoped.

I do feel like it set up a second book for the friend and brother scenario which I was honestly more interested in at the end. The book just ended without much emotion for me. No epilogue or insight into the future. I was expecting a lead into the next book but nothing.

Good not great.

⭐️ARC REVIEW⭐️
I want to start off by thanking the author for giving me the opportunity to read the ARC of her book.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book. The story sucked me in right from the first chapter and I finished the book in a day. The characters are well written, their problems and obstacles are realistic and relatable, and the hometown setting gives off a cozy vibe.
My drawback from this book: I didn’t feel like we got enough background information into the history of Ford and Blair’s mutual crushes. I’d like to have seen a bit of an explanation of how they fell for each other as teens and maybe a bit more of slow burn type trope. Without this, I feel like I’m just taking their word for it.
I really loved the friendship that not only the FMC and MMC had, but with their friend, Ronnie, as well. The author did an amazing job writing and depicting their friendship, for better or worse, on the pages. Watching friends make tough choices (and even wrong choices) is HARD, but the author portrayed this wonderfully. I liked how we got a set up for a second book in the series and I look forward to reading more from this author.

tropes: friends-to-lovers, second chance romance

ARC provided in exchange for honest review

Aisle Come Back to You is a sweet friends-to-lovers, sort of second chance romance. I enjoyed the characters and I’m hoping for a book two, I’d love to explore Ronnie and her happily ever after 👀 (I have ✨thoughts✨).

Blair and Ford were a bit on the average side for me, Blair kind of felt like the typical self deprecating (but absolutely knock out gorgeous) FMC that’s just not like the other girls. I wish we would have seen a bit more of Blair and Ford’s relationship and some of the build up between the two of them as opposed to “omg how are (they) still this stunning/showstopping/sexy/gorgeous after all these years and I’m still sooooooo attracted to (them)” but we as the readers have little to no information about these characters other than their looks and their inner dialogue (which is mostly focused solely on the other love interest).

This book was a fairly short and quick read, very easy to digest, and I actually read it the week before my own wedding.

All in all, I don’t regret reading it or feel like I wasted my time at all, and I did enjoy my time with the characters. I think this will be a huge hit with a lot of people and I’m excited to see more from this author, I think she’s got a lot to offer!

✨️ARC REVIEW✨️
-
'Hell, if the girl asked me to bury a body, I'd do it in a heartbeat.'
-
'The only thing that matters to me is you and your happiness, and I know that I can make you happy. Please, let me be the one who makes you happy.'

Blair Bennett ran away from her small town in Colorado, now living the dream of traveling the world as a concert photographer. Her best friend Veronica Prescott is getting married, Blair is of course the maid of honor, but it isn't only the town that Blair has been avoiding. For two years, she's ignored Ford Hastings, HARD. She might have ruined his wedding a little bit, and now both of them are forced together for Veronica's wedding. Things are gonna turn out fine. Right?

This was a wonderful little romance book. I really enjoyed Blair and Veronica's friendship. It reminded me of all of my female friendships and what we are to each other.
♡Platonic soul mates♡
It had just the right amount of angst, and a little sprinkle of miscommunication but with quick resolution. A short but effective spice scene. And with a man who isn't all grumbles and muscles. I mean, if a lean nerdy, brown curly man with glasses blushed in front of me, I'd say yes immediately.

Thank you Kristen Lucero for this ARC.

This book was so freaking adorable 😫😫
I seriously adored Blair and Ford!!
This was my first book by Kristen but it definitely won’t be my last! This was seriously one of those reads that I could see myself rereading when I need something light and fun!! But just because it was light and fun doesn’t mean the tension wasn’t there because it WAS 👏🏻👏🏻 I was giggling and kicking my feet and having the best time because Ford is a hoooooottie 🫣
I also loved Blair, Ford and Ronnie’s friendship! They seem like the best supportive friend group even when things are hard and you have to confront your friends with tough truths 😭
I am hoping there’s going to be a second book and that this will be a series and I also hope there’s next MCs are who I think they are because 👀👀👀
Over I seriously loved everything about this book and I can’t wait to see what Kristen writes next!

I had the opportunity of being an ARC reader for this book and I am SOO happy I got this opportunity!! If you are a sucker (like me) for Small Town Romance, Second Chances, Friends to Lovers, and Golden Retriever/Black Cat tropes then you will LOVE this book!! I loved this so much, I found myself literally wanting to yell at Blair "JUST LET FORD LOVE YOU HOW YOU DESERVE TO BE LOVED!" I wish we got an Epilogue at the end maybe a year later just to see how things are for Blair, Ford and Ronnie but I also saw this is Book 1 so I'm EXTREMELY excited for Book 2 and I will DEFINITELY be ordering a physical copy of Book 1 for my shelf!

3.5 stars but rounding for Goodreads ⭐️

I was given the opportunity to read an ARC for the first time and here are my thoughts:
This book was cute in a way that it felt like I was reading a hallmark movie. I could tell how much time and effort went into this book. The downside for me is it’s friends to lovers which is one of my least favourite tropes but I still enjoyed this read. I loved the characters and they clearly had so much love for each other. I would definitely recommend this book to those who love the friends to lover trope ♥️

✨✨ARC READER✨✨

This book is definitely going to be on my comfort rereads list. I love the banter between the main characters. I’d love Blair and Ford’s story. I text my best friend and told her I am buying her a copy as soon as this comes out she is my Ronnie. The main characters are relatable. I can definitely see myself in both Blair and Ronnie. They have real life problems and it’s just a comforting romcom book and that’s coming from a dark romance reader. Definitely keeping this on my Kindle to re-read in the future. 🖤

✨ I received this as an arc and I’m giving my honest opinion ✨

I really enjoyed the premise of this: childhood friends to lovers, second chance romance, small town. It was SO appealing to me but there were also a lot of things that made it unenjoyable for me 😭

I think I genuinely just didn’t gel with the writing style, I found it repetitive and and it almost felt like it had been written for a school assignment, lots of ‘however’ ‘unfortunately’ and others that I don’t remember that made it feel quite static.

But I would still recommend as I think it just wasn’t for me!

I was most interested in the setup for ronnie and miles at the end! And loved the friendship that ronnie and Blair have 🥰

3.5 stars. This book had some good moments and some that were just so so. I mostly liked the friendship between Ronnie, Blair, and Ford other than the fact that there was miscommunication between some of them. The premise of the book was also good. For the most part the book kept my interest, but it did drag at times. I feel the book could have been trimmed some to make it even better. I did read an advanced readers copy, but my review is unbiased.

First things first, the cover is really pretty.

I wish I could say the same on the story. Unfortunately, it wasn't giving at all.

One thing I noticed in the story is how the storyline was quite focused on being repetitive and boring. I really couldn't feel the romance or the plot at all. The characters as well weren't striking and failed to give me any kind of impression.

Other than that, I also noticed the dialogues being monotonous. It felt like reading an MTL novel minus the intriguing factor.

Overall, I think it could have been better? The dialogues more interesting, the characters more striking, the writing more enjoyable.

Thank you, author, for the e-arc opportunity.

First thought: Wow that’s was a wild ride! I love how relatable the characters were, with their real world problems. The friend’s group dynamic draws you in and makes you want to call your bestie because it’s so relatable. This books captures so many feels and was written perfectly. I can’t wait to dive in to the rest of this series as this was a home run for me.

Blair is the ultimate bestie she’s returning home to the small town of Evergreen Grove, Co for the next two weeks to be made of honor. Coming home she has mixed feelings, she’s always been casted as the villain thanks to her dad’s bad reputation, it’s one of the reasons she moved away. Well a fresh start and to escape Ford, she loved him since she was a teen and when she begged him on his wedding day not to go through with it and he still did she knew she had to end their friendship for both their sakes.

So as she’s drinking margaritas and catching up with her bestie Ronnie a bomb was just dropped on her. Not only did Ronnie invite Ford to join them, he was a honorary bridesman and get this he was getting a divorce! That’s right the love of her life that she begged to choose her was now available and about to join them. The next two weeks of supporting Ronnie are about to get a whole lot more interesting!

Join this best friend trio: Blair, Ronnie and Ford as they prepare for the wedding of Blair’s dreams. There will be plenty of drama along the way don’t you worry!

So I had the honor of ARC reading this book for Kristen and maaannnn. I cannot tell you the last time I read a cutsie romance, but this was SO GOOD! I won't post any "spoilers" but below are some of my favorite lines. Mostly from Ford.

~"He’s an addiction that I’m not sure I’ll ever get past."- Blair 😍
"I’m basically her own personal obsessed golden retriever, but isn’t that seen as a good thing these days?"-Ford 🐶
~“You feel so fucking good and I can’t even tell you how amazing and beautiful you look as you take me so perfectly.”- Ford 🌶🔥
~“If you think for one second I’m not going to go out of my way to do everything right to impress the girl that I’ve had feelings for since I was a teenager, then you’re insane.”-Ford 😩🫠
~"The only thing that matters to me is you and your happiness, and I know that I can make you happy. Please, let me be the one who makes you happy."-Ford 🥺🥺

I enjoyed reading this book! It's set in what you would imagine a typical small town (and trust me as someone who came from a small town, Kristen hit the nail on the head with the description of Evergreen Grove). The characters are incredibly well-developed. I especially love the friendship that Blair, Veronica, and Ford share. It feels as if it is real, and that resonates throughout the entire story. Their interactions are natural, which brings an easy flow to each of their interactions, especially when it comes to Blair and Ford expressing their concern for Ronnie and her choice of life partner.

I loved the interaction between Ford and Blair as they explored their relationship further. I did, however, dislike how unsure and nervous Ford appeared to be anytime he thought Blair wouldn't pick him. There was just a little too much worry there for me. I would have loved a little less self-consciousness on his behalf on the front. Outside of that Ford, is a wonderful book boyfriend.

I love that the book ended with **hopefully** a possible second book focusing on Ronnie and Miles (hint hint wink wink Kristen Lucero).

Overall, if you like small-town romance and friends-to-lovers tropes, I think you will enjoy this book. Kristen's writing has placed her as a favorite indie author and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future!

Thank you to the author, Kristen Lucero, for sharing the ARC of Aisle Come Back to You with me! Honestly, Blair and Ford are the freaking cutest and I really hope that there’s going to be more books in this series because I need a story about Miles and Ronnie, too.

Okay, okay. So, I loved this book. It was clever and sweet - plus I always love the friends to lovers trope… especially when they’re both pining idiots like Ford and Blair. It was fun to watch them reconnect and fall in love with the backdrop of their best friend’s wedding drama in this sweet little town. Evergreen Grove is such a magical and wild place, people. The spice was great, the chemistry was real (I definitely had butterflies throughout the book!) and I think that both characters worked really well.

This is a 4.5/5 for me just because it got a little redundant in the middle. I mean, I get it - we have to have the longing and the “will they, won’t they?” drama. But, a few times I was just kinda like, yeah. We know, let’s keep going. But I still LOVED this book and again totally understand why we had to do that. Also, a few times the sentences repeated words back to back, which was just something I found to be a bit tiring. Again, nothing that makes this not worth reading. It’s SUCH A GOOD TIME!! 😍😍😍

So…. I really wanted to love this book! It was a cute concept with some fun tropes involved. It’s a second chance romance about two childhood best friends, Blair and Ford, who have always loved each other, it’s just never been the right time to pursue it. However, I feel like it was missing the elements needed to make it an epic love story. I found myself wanting to know more about their past. We know very little about the specifics of it and I feel like I would have rooted for them harder if we had more glimpses into their childhood and teen years.

Another thing that bothered me was that I felt bad for Jenny. I don’t want to spoil anything, but thinking about the story from her perspective made me sad for her. I hope she finds her happily ever after.

The ending seems like it’s set up for a potential second book following Blair’s brother, Miles. I would definitely read it because I loved his character and the person set up to be his love interest. 😍

This book is a great example of why I love childhood friends to lovers so much! With the addition of something like second chance happening, it was truly a joy to read.

I loved how their relationship progressed and how they overcame obstacles in their way. Both Blair and Ford have depth to them, personal issues that played a significant role in their relationship. Although there is only the present time-line, as opposed to there usually being another time-line from the past showing the characters' friendship development, the author managed to show us exactly why and how their friendship turned into something more. The writing style made this an incredibly fast and easy read, and the plot, aside from the two of them, was very compelling. I also love how the author layed the foundation for another couple in this book! I got very invested in their story, and would love for them to get their own book!

I would definitely recommend this one for when you need something sweet and fun, especially since this is an indie author!

A huge thank you to the author for sending me an ARC of this book!

Who doesn’t love a good friends to lovers romance set in a small town with A LOT to make you laugh about?!
I laughed so much while reading this book it was so fun!
Ford and Blair have a completed (I’m not even sure that’s the right word) relationship and neither one of them wants to lose their friendship, but they both finally take that leap to be together and it’s just amazing!

There is so much that happens in this book too, it’s such a fun read and I enjoyed all of it!
Not gonna lie though I hope the next book is Ronnie and a certain brother 🤐

I’m so thankful I was able to ARC read this!

ACR Review

Rate: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I just want to start off by thanking the author for giving me the opportunity to read the ARC for her.

Overall I really enjoyed reading the book. It was super adorable! Childhood friends, secretly in love with one another, falling out, but then they come back together in the end. The setting gave me typical same town vibes and easy to relate/came imagine it. For me it was definitely a slow burn and took a build up of emotions.

If I’m going to be honest I’m hoping for a book two but between the brother Miles and best friend!!

If you like small town romance, second chances, Friends to Lovers, and the Golden Retriever/Black Cat vibes this book is for you!

This book was amazing 😍

I had the absolute honour to receive this as an ARC. Thank you so much 🥰

Blair and Ford are childhood best friends, they share a kiss one night fell secretly in love with one another, then they drifted apart, only to come back years later. She was avoiding him because she may or may not have ruined his wedding a little bit. But now they’re both forced to be together for their other best friend Veronica’s wedding. This should turn out fine right? 🤭

First off, I am obsessed with the town of Evergreen Grove!! What a perfect small town for this story (and the future ones) to take place. Second, Ford is the SWEETEST golden retriever boyfriend...ever!!! This might be one of the first books in a series where I know I'm going to love the other books just as much because I loved every single character in this one (helllooooo Ronnie and Miles!?!?!). Third, the friend group is amazing. I think it's everyones dream to have friends like these three! They have all seen each other at their worst and their best and they all stand by each other 100%. Love love love this book, these characters, this place... I'm obsessed!!!

Thank you Kristen for letting me read this one early! I'm obsessed!!

"The only thing that matters to me is you and your happiness, and I know that I can make you happy. Please, let me be the one who makes you happy. Let me be your person, because I sure as hell want you to be mine”

First of all, thank you @authorkristenlucero for this ARC!

I really enjoyed this book. This was a cute, fun, (sometimes frustrating😅), and sweet read! It has the "it's always been them for each other" trope, but both were scared to admit it cause it might ruin their friendship – cue the miscommunication😭🤦‍♀️. It's what had me frustrated😂 but in the best way possible! It was enough to want me to continue reading and keep rooting for them! Their relationship was just so wholesome💙 It has enough angst with a sprinkle of spice👌 And Ford is just soo adorable💕

I also can’t get enough of their friend group—Blair, Ford, and Ronnie❤️. They are the best! I love how they always have each other’s backs no matter what. And now I’m counting down the days until the next book! Ronnie and...👀 I mean, I had a feeling from the start, but seeing it kinda confirmed at the end had me so excited!🤭 Can’t wait for what’s next!

This just wasn't for me. The writing was repetitive, and it felt like the characters were written for stereotypes and tropes, instead of them happening naturally. The dialogue felt written, and I struggled to feel connected. The idea was cute, but for me it all just felt so much like a homework assignment—a well-written homework assignment, but one nonetheless. It'll probably be better for a younger audience.

This was fun. I saw an ad for it randomly and it looked interesting so I gave it a shot.

I really liked it. It was a good time. I enjoyed all of the characters and the small town neighborhood. A little predictable but that’s okay. I had a lot of fun with it. It was exactly what I needed at the time!

I’ll for sure read the second one!
