Award-winning author Johanna Hurwitz is back with a new addition to the charming Park Pals Adventures series. Squirrels Lexington (Lexi) and Lenox decide to visit the New York City streets they were named after. Lexi is worried about leaving Central Park, but Lenox is confident that their streets will be beautiful places, maybe even better than the park! When the twosquirrels venture into the city, they soon realize that the human world is strangerand more dangerousthan they'd ever imagined. This fourth exciting Park Pals tale brings back the fun, adventure, and favorite furry characters that this award-winning series is known for.
Lucy says this “is one of my likeable books.” Like the others in the series, it has unexpectedly good vocabulary and a decently compelling story for a 5 year old.
This is a very well written book. The story is about family and friendship. It's about loyalty and the bonds of love. The story follows a squirrel as she helps settle some friends near her home in the park and the supports her cousin on a trip by accompanying him on a trip he wants to take, despite her own reservations about it. The author pulls the reader into the story by getting them involved in the difficulties that Lexie and Lenox run in to on their adventure and the rescue mission that had to be devised to save them. The book is enjoyable and I would recommend it to others.
