I think lots of thoughts about this book.. firstly, YES! Sexy Irishman, yummy foods, intrigue, a whodunit with such sex appeal that I am now hooked on Bryce Keene!

Firstly, I still do not understand the reason as to why our couple separated. I mean, the book is clear, but in my life I'd not have let it happen. BUT YAY they get back together!

Obviously that was a spoiler but.. it seems to be either a tragic or happy ending, and this one is happy.

I like how much this hardass, dangerous man cares for her. It melts my heart, I have always wanted this type of man to be wrapped around me for life.

The storyline is fantastic, the heat between our main characters Ronan and Olivia is a definite inferno and you will not at all be disappointed with the spice. It is not the dirtiest of dirty, nor the darkest of dark, but IT HITS JUST RIGHT!!

This is a second-chance romance with panty-melting heat and a surprising sweetness..
.. but for real though, who the heck would have thought that the bride would die from the cake frosting? I get the blurb, but the "Poison" is funny AF!!

Oh Bryce Keene, will you please send us more stories with your voice?! This work sort of reminded me of Janet Evanovich, with darker content. Are you good with this comparison?!?!

I enjoyed the bonus scene (prologue), as it set the scene nicely. The general idea of the book was also quite engaging. However, the writing style did not entirely resonate with me; it felt as though something was missing. Regarding the content, for instance, when the MMC was hinting at his underboss that there was something off with him, yet we never got to know what it was. Additionally, the ending left some unresolved issues, such as whether Sofia was found after being kidnapped. Another loose end was the promise of the MMC's sister's hand in marriage, which was never further discussed. I wonder if there will be another book to follow that will explain these unresolved points?

Death by Frosting

Ronan and Olivia had a past relationship that did not go well and when she ends up catering his wedding the situation gets complicated and she must now prove her innocence before it is too late. Murder, mystery, danger and rekindled flames set the tone of this mafia story. It was an intriguing read with exciting moments but Olivia's decisions at times were brash. Overall, it was still a read that I enjoyed.

I loved this story so much. Olivia owns her own bakery, and an upscale woman books a consultation for a wedding cake. Delighted for the business, as it’s a highly publicized wedding, she agrees. Little does she know, this woman’s fiancé is the love of her life, Ronin. Getting entangled in his world, her life is at stake….more than once. The story flowed so well, and it was an easy, quick read. I so badly wish there was another book to know more of the future. I love stories that leave me wanting more, but this one has me feigning for me.

This author is a new to me whose writing style and execution of this story did not work for me. Ronan and Olivia' story's blurb had potential until I started actual reading the book. I didn't connect with either character. The story didn't have a good flow. There were editing and maturity issues with some of the narrative in this book. The rush to judgement that Olivia killed Ronan's wife was iffy at best and actually comical at times and yet was stressed frequently.

A quality narrative and a story well told is important to me as a reader. Strong characters, plot and an author who knows how to put their words on paper that entice and engage a reader is important to me. It boils down to personal taste and what a reader expects from a story.

If you are new to this genre, this book may be fine for you.

It’s not that long and I enjoyed reading it. I didn’t like how Olivia just left Ronan 😩
She just left him hanging and didn’t even reach out in the 10 years they were apart. 😫
It was really a little awkward that they reunited because of Barbara’s death. I actually liked Barbara. She’s not that bad even after learning Olivia and Ronan are ex-lovers.

Overall, the storyline is great. I just wished Barbara didn’t end the way she did 😅

Ronan and Olivia’s story is done in the style this author is popular for with lots of action, mystery, heat, and steam.

I loved this plot. It is faced paced and has two of my favorite things: mafia and smexy times. Definitely give this book and this author a try.

The Baker & the Groom

Although the foundation of the book is solid and interesting, I didn’t find Olivia & Ronan as interesting
I found myself caring more about why Damien wanted Sofia and what Riley thought about the marriage situation. I have read a few titles by Ms Keene and I really like her storytelling, unfortunately for me this one just fell a bit flat, with too many unanswered questions.

Kept me reading until the end. Bonus scene at the beginner, very good story between two people who loved each other then split and got back together. Lots of drama in between but lots of chemistry between the two characters. The bonus scenes are great as it gives you an insight at the beginning and the closure at the end. I love magic books and always read them with lots of enthusiasm as I can’t get enough of them. Give it a read and see if you get hooked just like I did. Brilliant

I found my new favorite! A second chance for high school sweethearts but murder and the bratva stand in their way.  The chemistry between Rowan and Olivia made it impossible for them to resist the pull. Bryce Keene is the master at hooking you from the first page.  If your looking for a book with good mystery, suspense, and a lot of built up sexual tension you will not be disappointed.

Intriguing but long in spots.
A dark mafia romance with some arranged marriage tossed in. High school sweethearts. Reunited love. It started out great and then there were several long drawn out or boring spots that could have been edited out. I believe they be there for filler. The most intense scenes were the best and it did end on a happy ending.

2 stars. I was excited for this one but it did not do anything for me. The story could have been great but the writing was terrible. Lots of spelling errors. There was no depth to the characters. One sentence they’re just seeing each other again after 10 years and the next they’re madly in love. Not for me.
