The path to redemption is far from a vacation, but our bounty hunter in remission is certainly going to try and make it one.
The fall of Leonueva was supposed to be the end of the brewing war, but our feathered friends quickly discover that it’s only the beginning. The battle scarred the Pacificans, but none more than Arianne Murray. Still grappling with everything she’d witnessed in Pangaea, she’s spiraling faster than one of her infamous aerial nosedives. With a comatose mother, an increasingly distant father, and friends growing apart, Arianne finds herself utterly alone.
Until Keston, former enemy-turned-hesitant-friend, proposes an escape from her problems.
But a seemingly innocent pairing between two isolated avians quickly takes a dark turn. It appears that obliterating an enemy city was not a one-way ticket to retirement, but a catalyst for war. Ace and Leon realize that they have one thing in a desire to fry some poultry. And what’s worse than one enemy? Two working together.
As Arianne and Keston attempt to navigate their pasts' combined assault, they quickly learn that they have much bigger problems than finding a nice margarita. Forces from the depths of Pangaea’s shadows are stirring, and the winged pair must brace themselves for the impending storm.
Buckle up for more action-packed thrills, page-turning twists, and scorching romance in The Prince of Paradise, Book Two in the Legends of Pangaea Series!
Trying to redeem himself Keston is on a mission. There are only so many secrets a relationship can handle? Can Keston and Arianne survive them all? Can Arianne survive long enough to save those she cares about?
Ok the cliffhanger will have you questioning your sanity. I am almost at a loss for words. Then ending of this book was on another level. This was an amazing 2nd novel.
This book was phenomenal. If I could rate it more than 5 stars, I would.
I was completely speechless when I finished it. What an amazing read with amazing plot and twists. If you loved book one I’m sure you will obsess over book two like I did.
This book is for you if you love epic science fantasy, battles, fights, super humans, winged people, adventures, political intrigue, futuristic dystopian world on the brick of war. Incredible characters and power dynamics.
In book two we get to know more about the main characters as well as the villains/antiheroes, their past and their motivations. The romance subplot is more prevalent in book two and it is so well written. I absolutely love the MCs relationship evolution and I was crushing over the MMC the whole time. There are a couple of spicy scenes, but you can skip them if you don’t like to read it.
The ending left me hangover and completely heartbroken (in a good way!). The ending is sort of a cliffhanger, but you still get a resolution to the main story lines. It sets the stage up for an epic book three plot. It will make you wish to read the next book immediately! I can’t get enough of these characters!
I absolutely recommend to read The Prince of Paradise as it has become one of my favorites reads of 2024! I’m SO looking forward to book three!
I enjoyed the first book in the series but unfortunately I had a harder time reading the Prince of Paradise. The story was much slower paced and things shifted to more of a romance in the mean time. I’m not a huge fan of the “beast-style” pairings so I kinda checked out for that. Still, our main duo goes through the wringer and the end was a brisk read, while setting the stage for what comes next. This one wasn’t for me, but perhaps the series will surprise me.
The Prince of Paradise begins where The Tyrant's Daughter left off, and immediately jumps into the action. While this is a longer book, I think I.D. Marie does a great job with keeping the plot moving, and there is certainly a lot happening plot wise! The Prince of Paradise has many of the things I look for in a book- a fast pace, political intrigue, and very believable (and hateable villains). I will also say while I'm more of a regular fantasy reader than sci-fi, I did appreciate the science elements, particularly in the tissue printer which we get to see in the last third of the book. I enjoy reading books where you can tell the author knows what they're talking about and this is certainly true in the sci-fi/science aspects of this series in general!
What I loved most about The Prince of Paradise is definitely the characters. I think I.D. Marie does a great job of further character development in this book and we see the effects on the aftermath of book 1 on our main characters. In particular I think the mental health representation in this book is excellent, and I think the characters respond in very realistic ways to the cards they've been dealty. We see trauma, depression, impulsivity, as well as the effects on previous decision making on character relationships. I always find realistic mental health representation extremely important in media, and I appreciated seeing it in this book.
I was locked into this series from book 1, and I will be anxiously awaiting book 3!
This was the perfect 2nd book and I loved how we dove deeper into who blackjack was before he became Blackjack. The ending is SUCH a cliffhanger too and I can’t wait for the 3rd now to see where this goes.
A wonderfully imaginative combination of sci-fi and fantasy inevitably destined to be booktoks next big thing.
The narration is superb. I.D. clearly has a grasp of storytelling with very clear goals in mind for her angsty stars and I am genuinely surprised Booktok has not made this series their most recent obsession but I convinced that is an inevitably. This is a fun, emotionally charged adventure that dives more into the world and lore of Pangea. If you enjoyed the first book you won't be disappointed in this. There. is. so. much. oogling. The two protagonists are desperate for each, and if you like nicknames like Princess, or Pangea Boy (which in context basically mean "United Nations Boy?"), you're going to have a blast.
