Dexter Doubletree is no tough guy, he's just a guy, but he's a Detective, a gumshoe, and a good one, who only takes a case he intends to solve. Scotland holds the answers and Doubletree needs the cash. With the backdrop of Edinburgh's downtown our Detective discovers a web of clues that leads him to the mysterious Book of Wonders. The bump on his noggin means somebody is watching him, somebody who wants that book as much as he does. Adult language and situations.

Hard Bitten Detective Fiction

After the first few pages of "What did I just read...?!?" I settled down to the genre and got stuck in.

I enjoyed it like several shots of cheap bourbon. The first one was "Holy...!" (cough) and each got gradually smoother.

There's roughly beautiful poetry here and a glimpse of a mythical anti-hero. Much like the bourbon, not for the faint hearted!
