When I first picked up this book, I honestly had no idea what to expect. I thought it might be a bit too lengthy for my taste. The line "Two can keep a secret if one of them is dead" really sets the tone, especially for Jessica Donovan, who learns just how accurate that saying is after her best friend, Ashley Fields, is murdered. With the support of her boyfriend, her estranged older brother, and the lead detective on the case, Jessica embarks on a quest to uncover the truth. Along the way, she must confront her own hidden secrets and delve into the mystery surrounding her childhood friend's death from seven years ago. Can Jessica unravel the truth about her past and solve Ashley's murder before time runs out, or will her secrets lead to her downfall? This book is aimed at readers aged 15-18, and I genuinely believe they will find it captivating. The plot is filled with unexpected twists, and the conclusion took me completely by surprise.

Two can keep a secret if one of them is dead.

It was a very tense story filled with events from the first pages up to the last.

The author guides us along the jumping timeline keeping us in real time flying further to the events while allowing not to miss stories from the past or important conversations. It was unusual but captivating.

I loved the characters. The stubborn FMC and and people around her. It was interesting to follow their relationships and decisions as the investigation unfolded.

All through the book I kept gessing and suspected everyone around of being the killer, and was satisfied with how things turned out. The twist on the last pages amazed me with it's suddenness and gave comfort after the storie's tension.

It was great to see two sides of therapy: a reminder that a bad specialist can traumatize you even more, but a good one will actually help.

I haven't read thrillers for some time, it was a great start and now I want to read them more.
