Dominic and Julian are supposed to be airport-bound, but a full-blown snowstorm has other plans, a random hunting lodge that becomes their unexpected refuge. And let me tell you, the tension inside that cabin is just as intense as the weather outside.

These two men arrive with layers of history between them and through carefully chosen words, loaded glances and body language that speaks volumes, we watch those walls start to crack.

What impressed me most is how much emotional weight the author fits into such a compact space. Nothing feels rushed or shallow, every sentence does double duty, carrying meaning beyond just the words on the page. You feel the shift between Dominic and Julian in the silences, in the way they move around each other, in the thoughts they don't quite say out loud.

By the end, it's not just a snowed-in hookup, it's a genuine turning point for both of them. Powerful, romantic and definitely spicy enough to warm you up on a cold night.

I got the second one as a freebie and there’s no way I’m starting in the middle (also the end in this case) of a duet so I went over to KU to read One Winter Night. Jenny Pineapple REALLY has a way with shorts. The premises are always simple but the stories so well written and edited, and the MCs typically have great chemistry. I especially liked that Dominic and Julian actually had something to dislike each other over and that they didn’t immediately get over it.

Expect
- Enemies to lovers
- Forced proximity
- Small town

Oh Jenny you've done it again! This one was supppper hot to me. Decent (if not kind of out there) setup and the chemistry was great. I am immediately gonna read the second one.

Animosity to lovers, opposites attract, mechanic x lawyer, forced proximity (snowed in at a cabin), queer awakening, light D/s vibes, multiple orgasms, dirty talk and pet names, "good boy"

Pet names: sweetheart, baby, Jules (my basic bitch brain went CRAZY for Dominic bringing these out)

Our kisses grow deeper and more passionate as we both give in to our desires. A wave of unfamiliar emotions rushes through me—longing, craving, anticipation. This is what I want, I realize.

“You look so cute when you blush, sweetheart. Makes me want to mess you up.”

"Fuck, Jules, if only you could see yourself right now…” Dominic growls in my ear, biting my earlobe. “Such a good boy, rubbing yourself on me like a slut.” He rakes his fingers through my hair, grabbing it just enough not to cause too much pain. “Ummffuck, Dominic…it feels so fucking good…” I don’t recognize my voice as I writhe in pleasure. “That’s it, baby, get yourself there. Come for me, sweetheart, come on.”

A sudden pang of worry tugs at my chest. Will this—whatever this is between us—be over after we leave? Will we just go our separate ways and never meet again?

Safety (may contain spoilers)

SA/rape: None

Other person drama: Julian was in a fake relationship with Dominic's sister. They "broke up" in the beginning but they were never actually together - Dominic's sister was with a woman.

❄️ What Can Happen On A Winter Night With Your Supposed Ex's Brother? ❄️

"We're utterly alone out here, just two strangers trapped together by circumstance. How f****** poetic."

"You think you've got me all figured out, that I'm just some soulless p**** who takes pleasure in destroying people, but you're wrong. Dead wrong."

"Because you seem like the type who might. An artist's soul trapped in a mechanic's body."

"Our kisses grow deeper and more passionate as we both give in to our desires. A wave of unfamiliar emotions rushes through me--longing, craving, anticipation. This is what I want, I realize."

This was such a great novella. Everything I have read by Jenny has been fantastic. All her stories are on the shorter side, but man, they are always packed with a great storyline and spice. This one ended on an HFN, and the second part is already out. I love that this one was a bi awakening with forced proximity 🥵.

This story follows Julian and Dominic. Julian just dumped his girlfriend Syliva, who is Dominic's sister at a family dinner. Dominic is now driving Julian back to the airport, but there is a huge icy storm. They seek comfort and hide out in a remote cabin until the storm gets better. Dominic bickers with Julian as he is upset that he broke his sister's heart. Sadly, Dominic doesn't know the whole story. Julian was only dating Syvia as a front as her parents don't support their children being queer. Once Dominic finds out these two connect on many levels 😏😉. They get to know one another and things get spicy fast. It ended with them being saved in the cabin and Julian wants Dom to come to the city for a weekend. Will Dom go and see what can happen between them?

I loved that these two were complete opposites. Julian is a clean-cut lawyer and straight. Dominic is a tatted up bi mechanic. Their chemistry and tension were 🥵🥵. The spicy scenes were hot and delicious 🔥🔥🔥. I loved seeing them really get to know each other in a short time. Something tells me things will go awry and these two will reconnect with more heat 😏. I can't wait to read their second story.

This is a ex’s brother romance novella, featuring Dominic and Julian, and is book one in the Dominic & Julian series.

Julian and Dominic get stranded together in a remote cabin during a snowstorm and grow closer as they open up to each other.

This was a sweet, snowed-in romance with great chemistry and heartfelt moments. Julian and Dominic’s connection grows naturally, and their emotional journey makes this a cozy, feel-good read.

Things to expect in this book are:
Book 1 in series
MM romance
Novella
Lawyer x Mechanic
Ex’s brother
Opposites attract
Only one cabin
Snowed in
Secret revealed
Bi awakening
Spicy times
C*m play
HFN hint

This is a small snippet of a story that promises so much more to come for this couple. Stranded on a cold winter's night due to a blizzard, these two opposites are greatly attracted to each other and tentatively act on it, becoming more passionate as they explore. It's steamy, it's sensual and it left me yearning for more of their story. Thankfully I'm reading this right on the day that the second part of their story is released.

What a difference a day makes! This is a wonderful tale of two men stranded in an old cabin during a major snow storm. For certain reasons, not going to spoil the plot, they deeply dislike each other and didn't expect to spend so much time together. The story keeps you going as the dislike continues . . . somewhat. A very enjoyable read and, I'm really REALLY hoping that the number 1 in the title above means we'll be seeing more of these two.

3.5 ⭐️ Packing a storyline about sexuality and self-acceptance into such a short piece makes a story that bills itself as spicy feel unnecessarily serious. That said, the author’s writing is solid, and it feels like a waste to see that skill confined to novella.

This is by far my favorite trope

❄️ snow storm
❄️ forced proximity
❄️ quick and sexy

It was done really well like everything she writes but something felt off and I didn’t love the characters.

Still a fun and easy read

More than meets the eye

Short little novella but so much depth to it, the MCs have believable backgrounds, they have angst between them that gets worked out and then oy vey! The heat in that little cabin is through the roof! Off to read their follow-up story.

So much can happen on just one winter night, it can be life-altering and as soft, gentle and beautiful as the falling snow.

Well, the falling snow in Jenny Pineapple's 'One Winter Night' is more like a blizzard which makes it impossible for Dominic and Julian to complete their drive to the airport. Fortunately for them an old hunting lodge is waiting to give them just enough shelter from the storm raging outside. As to the storm that is raging between them and whether they will be able to defrost the walls of ice emanating from one another, that is another matter entirely.

In a short story, easily read in under an hour, we learn a lot about who these two men are, the events that have led to this night and, before long (with the help of a bottle of wine) how their futures might reshape. It's not easy when you don't have many words, to convey the depth of feeling some stories require. In 'One Winter Night' it is there. Every word, every sentence conveys so much more than the space it uses on the page, there is a depth to this story, it is written between the lines, it is what we learn from the descriptions of body language, from the thoughts of the characters. It is a life changing story and set of events for Julian and Dominic, it is a powerful, romantic, spicy read for us.
