Do you make lists? Logically set up your day? Think a lot? Rarely find time to sit and just, well, let your mind randomly wander?

Do you want to mix it up a little? Maybe throw a little intuition in there and see what happens?

Penney Peirce wrote "The Intuitive Way" for you: people who want to access a subtle and often underused personal strength - intuition.

Is it a self-help book? Sure, though it's also a good read in terms of encouraging one's creativity to blossom, and in terms of thinking about intuition as a form of communication. Similar books are "The Artist's Way," or "Writing from Life," or even "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain." All creativity sparkers.

What is really nifty about this book is it includes exercises you can do as a reader to rev up your intuition. Some of them worked for me, others of them didn't, but hey, it was fun.

A lot of fluff and stories surrounding a little bit of practical advice. You can tell the author created a structure from their own personal bias. If you want to learn about how Penney is intuitive this is the book for you, if you want to learn how to do it yourself, look elsewhere.

I took me just shy of four years to read this whole book. I'm a completist, what can I say?
I thoroughly enjoyed the readings and exercises, and I can say, with certainty, that my intuition and spiritual nature has expanded by leaps and bounds over the last 4 years.

A good book -- in spite of the high left field woo-woo title -- about listening to that little voice in the back of your head that often gives the best advice. Intuition is often "simply" getting all the members of the inner peanut gallery to shut up for a few minutes so you can pay attention to what you've already seen, heard, felt, etc., but not yet acknowledged.

The book has a bunch of exercises that would take weeks (months) to work through, and so I will probably revisit this at a slower pace after the first of the year.

This book was the first one I read on my spiritual journey. It helped open up my intuition and really improved the quality of my life as a result!! I love that it is like a workbook that has journal prompts and exercises to do as you go through it. It is definitely not the kind of book you can read in a day. It's more designed to read a chapter each week and then work on the exercises and applying the principles throughout the week to get the best results. It's also a great guidebook to go back to time and time again.

It took me months to get through this book and I still can't say that I tried all the different exercises yet. It's a good guide to have handy and work with over time. I've definitely benefited from being more in tune with that little voice inside my head. No one knows you better than you, so why not look inside yourself than to others when you need advice?

The book is simply laid out and easy to follow. Repetitive at times, but you can skim or skip those parts. Some parts may be too woo woo for some people, but you can still pick out the parts that speak to you. I think everyone could benefit from following their own "intuitive way."

I take a lot for granted. That was my biggest learning having read this book. I was raised on intuition; I was taught to recognize it from my early childhood, although we didn't call it intuition.

Having been raised as a Christian, intuition was given other names, but the process for listening and attuning and experiencing it are all the same.

For that reason, alone, I'm giving this three stars -- because I got bored.

I'm aware there are a lot of people who are learning the process and for you, this is an excellent guidebook.

"Practicing the intuitive way, you may at first encounter increased confusion, misunderstandings, and reactionary behavior in yourself and others. You may not understand how something as innocuous as intuition development can create such a stir...The process of opening this Pandora's box is normal -- in fact, it parallels the hero's journey...Before you can live in consistent clarity, you must deal with the shadow, the underworld, or the dark cloud. Poet Robert Bly calls it the 'black bag' into which we stash all the feelings society does not authorize us to feel. In the hero's journey you face these incompletely perceived experiences, see and feel them again, and finally reach heartfelt understanding and true freedom."

Everyone has intuition. Everyone can cultivate and heighten their powers of intuition and heed its messages. Penney Peirce makes it clear how, and why you want to do this. Hers was one of three books on this topic that really brought intuition into deep practice in my life. Noreen Renier's book is another, The Practical Psychic; and Gavin deBecker's The Gift of Fear will burnish into you why you want to cultivate and heed this innate, incredible tool.

What is intuition? The answer to this question along with what it takes to awaken the intuition within you is in the book. The book has various exercises to help you connect with your intuition. These exercises are mainly about writing in a journal and with little creativity you can apply them to your way of manifesting calmness and tranquility.

Library book ( also available as audio on Hoopla) Decided that this was a book to read rather than listen to as you need to ponder, consider and digest what you are reading as opposed to just listening. A lot of "stuff" in this book... Some that spoke to me and some that did not. An interesting book never the less.

I found this book interesting with some helpful tips but don't think that all of these steps are necessary in order to tap into your intution. I think it would be a great manual for a fun class or for someone interested in delving into tons of exercises at home.

I was a bit shocked when I found the author was physic, its not what I expected. I do acknowledge that our Intuition is not to be taken for granted and should be cherished as this is a gift from God. But, I can't agree with all the author's views on this subject, and that's ok.

Don't mistake this book for another general explanation of how intuition can help you in life. This is a hands-on workbook that requires effort and dedication, which will yield tangible results in developing your own intuitive ability. It would be hard to imagine a more thorough, cleanly structured and encouraging book on the subject. Peirce writes with integrity and clarity. She believes in everyone's ability to develop intuition and to bring real value into every aspect of life. She covers all the ways we sabotage ourselves with doubt—how we recognize the "real thing" and how we use the information we begin to receive. This is an excellent guide for anyone willing to follow through and do the work.

This book is quickly shaping up to be the go-to manual for understanding and developing intuition, which, in my opinion, is THE work of the new consciousness. It's laid out in the same style as The Artist's Way, filled with tips, tools, and exercises intended to get you on the path toward greater intuitive living.
