DNF

I was leary of this book from the beginning because I don’t see the need to have bwwm as a part of the title or cover. It lets me know you’re appealing to a certain reader. There were also mistakes on the first page.

Then I read, ““I just love a black woman’s axx,” he whispers. “You fine axx black women never want to let a white boy fxxx unless we pay.” DNF. Girl you can write an interracial book without going there. Step your writing game instead of falling back on racism.

I read a snippet from twitter and this sentence alone should have this book banned from the globe :)

GOODBYE!!!!!

"What are you, eighteen?" He grunts. I doubt he cares.
"Yeah."
"Good," he says. "Don't plan on going to jail just to get a piece of black pussy..."

"I want you to cum," he growls.
"Fuck, I want the cum from your black pussy."
"You are fucking good," he whispers. "My white cum looks so good dripping down those sweet brown thighs."

Good idea, not so good execution

I read quite a lot. I've been reading actively since I was a kid. This book is giving 2009 preteen fanfic with its underdeveloped sentence structure and poor use of literary elements. I've read better books on wattpad by people much younger.

I understand this is smut, but if I'm paying for a book like this, I want better description, more dynamic characters, and better storytelling, basically. Also she needs to work on her "dirty talk", it's giving virgin, with an ebony fetish, trying to convince a woman that he's done this a million times.

But I won't lie. This has inspired me. If she can get paid from this, it means anyone can write a substandard book, and make money from it.

Read it to be curious…wish I didn’t. If I had a nickel for every time he said black pussy it would be enough to pay you to never write about black women again.

Had to stop halfway through reading just to vent

So she claims he violated her even though she accepted the offer of money for sex. Not only did she accept it, she had ample opportunity to walk away. When the offer was presented to her, when she walked in him snorting powder, when he even offered her drugs, when he told her to bend over the sink, even after he ate her out, STILL SHE DID NOT WALK AWAY. So at what point did he violate her??? The she was angry at him for supposedly "raping" her. Make it make sense, at no point in their transaction did he force her to do anything. Then after almost getting killed in a car crash she accuses him of the one hitting her, although he saved you and the child. Ok moving on, now you so nosey and so concerned with your daughter's safety that you left her with a practical stranger to sneak and follow the man that you say "raped" you, and almost "killed you when he crashed into you". Oh and let's not forget the same man she claims "raped" her, she gave cookies to once again, without any force. Nothing she does or say concerning him makes since or is of any truth. Now her real good dumbass is caught in the back of his car, while the daughter she so concerned about could be in danger. SHE IS INFURIATING AND AN UNNECESSARY CHARACTER IN THIS BOOK.

I’m sorry but this book is horribly written.

Poor sentence structure, punctuation errors, grammar mistakes and multiple plot holes. It’s like the author couldn’t work out how to write a scene or was too lazy so she decided to skip over key elements. It wasn’t ambiguous or left to the reader’s imagination but was never mentioned again.

“I slip my finger inside Althea’s underwear and she gasps as my rigid index finger explores her outer lips. Her soaked panties stick to her outer lips and it takes movement from my fingers before I can separate her sticky underwear from her juicy outer lips. Quickly, I slide her underwear to the side and run my tongue over Althea’s outer lips.“

“I can’t stop myself from screaming. It’s pain. It’s pleasure. It’s loving him, losing him and everything else. Our bodies meld together on my bedroom floor and sweat works up between us.”

If you want to read a book with smut, huge plot holes, and grammatical errors then this is for you.

This was probably one of the most disgusting things I've ever read. You'd swear it was written by a white male r*pist. The main character literally r*pes the love interest and gets her pregnant, and we're just supposed to be okay with that? Also, the raceplay was... too much. I swear every other sentence was Lucky saying "black p*ssy." I just wanted to throw up. Not only was it the least creative, most cringey thing I've ever read, but it was so fetishy and dehumanizing to black women. How did a black woman write this?? (Also, I'm the POC in my interracial relationship. There is more to interracial relationships than the fact that they're interracial. I don't mind if you have a kink or whatever, but again, this just felt harmfully fetishy.)

Althea Little, young woman who doesn’t know what she’s in for one night while at work. She’s already having the worst day, until HE walks in, Luca “Lucky” Vicari. He wants her and has to have her, but that is the night that both of their lives changed. Lucky can’t get this woman out of his head for a decade. But when fate intervenes, he finds out why she has avoided him for this long. Chiara Little, sassy, smart, intuitive 9 year old girl who loves Lacrosse. One look at her and Lucky knows she’s his. With danger around the corners coming for his daughter, he stops at nothing to make sure she is safe. He will do whatever it takes to protect his family, even if it’s from himself. But that one turn of events I did not see it coming! This story will have you engaged from beginning to end to where you don’t want to put it down. It’s amazing how much love can change a person. HEA guaranteed.

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really wanted to like this book, I love DARK ROMANCE, and I never get the chance to see a good book with a black FMC, but this was hard to get through, so much poor communication. The dirty talk between the MMC and FMC was so my fetishized that it gave me a ick. He only commented about liking black women while having sex with them…. The FMC saying RAPE, when he paid her and she agreed was a huge red flag…. But what really hit me to DNF was this part:

“ I owe you a big fucking hug”
“ and probably a lot of child support “ says a 9 year old! What kind of baby daddy/ baby mamma bs is that….uggghhhh

I gave it 3 star cause I want the author to please keep going, please read the reviews and keep going! I’m still here waiting for a book as juicy and hot as Butcher and blackbird or Hunting Adelaide but with my black queen being a FMC. 💕.

Wow

Lucky and Althea we're Wow!!
I didn't want to like this book. I hated that Althea had to use her body for rent. I hated how humiliated she was. I wanted to hate Lucky because one night stole her pride.
But out of the ashes Althea rose. She had a beautiful daughter who was smart and excelled in Lacrosse, she owned a successful business and she was loved by her friend. But to her surprise she was loved by the person who had humiliated her 10 years ago.
Before he humiliated her Lucky had studied and stalked her. It wasn't about sex for him but in his world Althea was the forbidden fruit because of her skin color.
But he was addicted before he had touched her.
Read Althea's and Lucky's journey to love.
I recommend this author.

A decent read

It’s a decent read. I would have given it 4 stars, but the racial language, play, or whatever it was kept making the story icky and uncomfortable. It’s okay to have a preference, but constantly saying how you like her Black features comes across as fetishization. This is especially unappealing when it’s the white male protagonist saying that about the Black female protagonist.

What is so hilarious is that I originally picked this book up because I saw someone on TikTok talking shit about it and I was like I need to read this book. Basically the first part of the book is 10 years in the past, this girl Althea, she needs money and she sleeps with this white man for the $5000 and she end up getting pregnant and never tells him 10 years later. He gets a threatening letter, basically saying if you don’t do XYZ I’m going to hurt your daughter and he’s like which daughter daughter wear and that’s when he finds out that Althea end up having a baby so he went to go see her and basically steps in and takes them to his house and is like you’re mine now and he starts to take care of taking care of their nine year-old child, Chiara. and also is taking care of her mom Althea and they end up back together in the third act break up he sent them away because he wants him to be safe, but he eventually ends up going back to get them and they live happily ever after and he wants to put another baby in her. I can’t lie. I enjoy this book so much and the sex scenes were so hot like I was like oh my God I’m gonna be his girl.

I started this book before going to bed after long night out and couldn’t put it down. I stayed up all night flying through 60% of the book. Their love story is kinda toxic. I would have liked to see more development as a couple outside of the bedroom and fleshed out backgrounds for the FMC and MMC character. Aside from the fetishized dirty talk and grammatical errors, I really enjoyed this book.

I would also like to add that I think Althea was justified in feeling violated. Yes she consented to having sex with him and knew what she was getting into but she asked several times for him to wear a condom. He slid in raw with no regard. Yes she was getting paid, but she still had the right stipulate some ground rules for her body.

I felt conflicted about her calling it rape, but I get her feelings.

I also would have loved to see the moment where Lucky confessed to watching her for weeks, it could have really made it seem less crazy for her to get involved with him.

Althea’s decisions in the book were chaotic but definitely
unbelievable lol.

It was a surprisingly enjoyable book. I just have one criticism .... there were two comments regarding the ethnicity of the child and how two "black" people couldn't produce a child that "doesn't look black" or "white". This is a narrative that has been created by the pseudo-science around racial categorization. The truth is that people from the African diaspora have the most diverse genetic code. The fact is that two "white" people cannot produce a "black" child NOT the other way around. It is annoying that this nonsense about genetics exists.

The plot includes a child that has a father of European (Italian) ancestry and a mother of African-American ancestry There is also a character of African-American male who is claiming paternity of the child in this story and I guess that is why the author included those highly offensive lines.

The book was enjoyable outside of those two lines.

Oh Boy!

I’ve been waiting for this book. The wait was worth it!! I love Lucky, whom I prefer to think of as Luca, just because I like the name Luca better. Althea and Lucky are a true second chance love. Lucky has to work at this. Althea isn’t just a pushover. Chiara is a hoot! She is a true mix of Lucky and Althea! Anyway, the twists and turns, laughter and tears in this book had me not wanting to stop reading and sleep. Good thing I’m retired. Now, I have to wait for book two!

Exciting Top Tier IR Dark Mafia ❤

Wow!!!This is hard driving, IR Romantic suspense, filled with mafia action & 🌶🌶🌶🔥🔥🔥romance between 💯alpha Lucky Vicari & Althea. She is a hard working young woman , who enters Lucky 's world through a bad decision one fateful night & her life was forever changed for good & bad. I love their little princess Chiara & I hope they will finally achieve a HEA: though unlikely in the cosa nostra world! This is a 3 part mafia series, so this book ends on a cliffy😯 Can't wait to read the next 📗🍷

This story was an odd one lol. While I liked both main characters and their personalities, their way/reasoning for falling in love was a little off to me. It’s even more bizarre when you consider how incredibly different Althea and Lucky’s opinions are of the first time they met! Don’t know if I’d call this “dark” mafia, but it was a really good story that kept me turning the pages. I’d recommend.

couldn't finish

I have never not finished a book and left a review. I always feel it's unfair. I couldn't get pass the h accusing the H of rape. Her manager let her know what was about to go down for the money she needed and she went in that bathroom fully aware. She could have left at any point but she didn't. you don't get to call someone a rapist due to you losing your pride, that was her choice.

It’s a good story , I really did like it and it and much better then I thought .Very choppy in some parts . Bits and pièces patched together and some parts are left untouched ? Leaving you wondering what happened or what’s gonna happen ? Lucky and aldea’s attraction undeniable . The book finishes so abruptly that I was flipping through to see if I missed something?? But I kept reading until the end .Very sexy , hot scenes . Some phrases repeated .
