Nearly 10 years after witnessing the death of his family during an alien invasion, Alex is recruited as part of an elite group tasked with engaging the aliens at their home planet before they return to enslave mankind. However the group soon realise that their foe and the galaxies are far more deadly and ruthless than they feared, and learn from another alien race the true extent of the 5 power forces which wield unlimited supremacy. After accidentally harnessing one of these powers it becomes clear that Alex’s fate is intertwined with the destiny of the power forces, and he becomes embroiled in a battle with the vast armies of his dark enemy across the galaxies, leading to a momentous battle which will define the destiny for all living beings throughout the cosmos. Fast paced, full of action but with a real violent edge this book is ideal for anyone who enjoys Star Wars, Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones!
A.M.C, author of the SciFi/Fantasy epic Salvation, was born in the U.K near Chester before moving down to Suffolk where he now resides. During his early years he spent 5 years in the Army, travelling the world including serving during the conflict in Iraq in 2003. Having always been a big fan of SciFi and Fantasy, influenced by Star Wars and the Lord of the Rings, his work is described as fast paced action, but with a realistic degree of the violence of combat, bringing some of his real life experiences into his writing.
'Salvation' is the perfect story for anyone who loves fantasy and sci-fi. Despite being a really long book, I didn't find myself bored by the plot, not even once. Alex is the perfect main character and I was rooting for him from the start. All the battle scenes were written very good, I could see them perfectly in my head. The ending left me wanting more, so I really hope there will be sequel!
Okay, so in earnest, Salvation is an epic tale of serious proportions! Therefore to not own and read this debut novel would be an injustice to the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre – and to the literary world! Alright, so why is AMC’s first offering so damn good? Well I’ve read it twice, and to me, Salvation is many things. With the main characters Max and Alex at the protagonist helm, it’s a father/son story brimming with compassion, sincerity and emotion. It soon turns into an alien invasion which is vividly and awesomely told, gifting the reader with a horrific, gruesome and realistic account of what a hostile event would entail. Then comes the introduction of the demonic antagonist, their galactic nemesis, the Khaos Lord and his many minions! For lovers of Star Wars and Lord Of The Rings, this villain is the true embodiment of what Darth Vader and Sauron ‘should’ have truly been – don’t believe me? Then read Salvation for yourself! After a dramatic altercation with the Khaos Lord, the battle becomes a personal war and one that Alex spends the next decade training for. He joins an elite team of marines. Then led by his surrogate mentor the small resistance take to the stars to seek out their enemy hoping to end all suffering but more importantly, to attain their salvation. Conclusively, Alex soon realises that a potential destiny awaits him which is prophesised to play out in the greatest battle of all time! My brief telling of Salvation isn’t fair to you. Buy this book and allow AMC to show you Alex’s journey. Therefore I give Salvation 5 power force stars out of 5. JK Rowling, watch out!
Salvation will appeal to anyone captivated by fantasy and science fiction. The writing is engrossing, character development is great and it will leave the reader wanting for more towards the end, it really does. Fantasy blends with science fiction in this novel as the combat scenes are described flawlessly, it almost is like watching it unfold in front of one's eyes. It's like a hybrid of genres of epic fantasy, science fiction and thriller done splendidly. A great read and highly recommended one!

Review: The first couple of things you need to know about this book:- 1. It is very lengthy 2. It is worth persevering
Max is a great lead, possessing a vulnerability that makes him very likeable. He is supported by a cast of characters with various personalities (and species!), which work very well together. This, coupled with fantastic descriptive prose, make this book great.
There is an awful lot going on here. Great attention to detail shows the author's skill at storytelling and switching between time frame. Personally, I'd have preferred a shorter read, as there is enough good material here to make this one volume a gripping trilogy. Having said that, this is still a great book which will appeal to discerning fans of sci-fi and fantasy.
At $1.11 this book is a bargain AND It’s on sale for FREE right NOW. You'd be mad not to go out and grab it.
I was informed by a fellow book lover that I must read it this book, that it was the best book that they had read in ages - So I went in with high expectations.
We get plenty of action, multiple worlds and races teaming up and fighting a common foe. There is big plot twist early on that I for one did not see coming, but then again maybe if I had read the synopsis first, things might have been different.
You get drawn into the character of Alex and his fight to save not only the world but the entire universe. Go Humans!!!! It is a very long story so be prepared for sleepless nights until you’ve finished – well it is an epic sci fi fantasy so you’d expect nothing less.
I can’t fault it, the story had me NEEDING to know how it ended. I’m giving it four out of five stars. It’s only losing the one star from a perfect score because of a personal preference. There was no romance in this intergalactic thriller and I like there to be a little bit in everything I read, but never the less I was still impressed. I got excited when we met the beautiful sensual killing machine Symlia. I rejoiced as I thought Alex was getting a queen, but alas it wasn’t meant to be.
Now I will say no more as I do not want to give too much away – GO and read it yourself :-) >>>
My editor challenged me to read something outside my favored genre and when looking abut, Salvation seemed to fit the bill. It definitely was outside my normal reading list. However, some things are universal across genres even between Science Fiction and Fantasy.
A.M.C takes on some typical conflicts within the pages. Man against himself - very well done as men struggle to overcome their own fears, anger and personal agendas for a great good. Man against man - Men are placed in the same confines on a single mission that in a normal day's work would never co-exist. The typical conflicts of such a tight and sudden enmeshment were well written. Man against nature - Boy nature packed quite the punch. And of course, man against extra-terrestrial. I loved watching these interweave as the story played out.
The only thing I found disturbing or distracting about this novel is that all the conversations was in italics. I could only read short periods of time due to the cognitive dissonance this created though it got better as I made my way through the novel.
I also found it interesting that there were few women. Man is in trouble if there aren't a few more women left on Earth. Where were the women marines?
If you're looking for an epic sci-fantasy adventure, then look no further than "Salvation"!
Excitement, violence, gore are all in abundance, but liberally sprinkled with an exploration of human nature - the good and the bad.
A.M.C. has written a book with all the qualities needed for it to become a classic of our time.
Due to the language and violence, I wouldn't recommend this book for younger readers, or for those who are squeamish! For anyone else, this should go on your "MUST READ" list right now!!
Perhaps I missed something that other reviewers saw, but I couldn't finish this book. The italics in normal dialogue threw me, and the mechanical errors, especially the punctuation, kept me from going through the entire book. Perhaps I am missing out on a truly great epic, but for me, the opening few chapters didn't give me enough of a reason to continue.
Salvation by AMC a Sci-fi action adventure- with alien invasion, violence, intergalactic travel, prophecy, destiny, resistance fighters, hidden agendas, combat, suspense, multiple worlds, different races& beings, struggle, sacrifice- with the fate of the world and universe at stake. AMC is a new-to-me author, so I was intrigued to dive into the book and find out what he could do. I am happy I decided to grab a copy, because it was quite the adventure! This story was really detailed and descriptive- it definitely painted vivid images for us, the reader- leaving little to the imagination. It has an original spin on the theme- but it did get a little wordy at times. The attention to detail is commendable, but sometimes it got so ‘bogged down’ in the descriptions that the flow of the story is disrupted. But not enough that I couldn’t enjoy the story, because I did- I just felt that with a little tweaking this story would be truly EPIC! I look forward to exploring more of AMC’s work in the future.
This is an exciting, fast paced story, for the most part, but it has been butchered by bad/lack of editing, several paragraphs have been rendered nonsense by having large sections cut from the beginning. Then we get to the author’s fact checking, which is shockingly incomplete, and ruins any suspension of disbelief. From the moment he mentions F-22 Raptures instead of Raptors it starts to have problems, he describes the F16 as carrying bombs, the Eagle is a fighter not a bomber, in fact the F-22 he describes as fighter escorts carry more bombs. And the book is full of errors like this. Whether its the distance to be travelled, the time taken or how radio communications are meant to work over those distances. Neutrinos atoms are a nonsense, neutrinos are leptons like electrons not atomic, and nuclear bombs that use fusion and fission are called Thermonuclear not Super nuclear. Sections of the text are repeated, so you occasionally read a passage and think, “hang on, didn't we get told this twenty pages ago,” oh apparently not as the characters don’t seem to remember the conclusion they came to then. But if you like your fantasy tropes with a bunch of marines, sorry Elite marines shooting everything in sight you’ll certainly enjoy it, just don't ask why aliens thousands of years old have not invented the gun, or why even though only one race seems to have teleportation the only spaceships seem to belong to the humans. Also don't ask why when faced with insurmountable odds the good guys didn’t evacuate their forces and suicide a ship into the enemy army to clear the way. Read it if you fancy fast paced fun, but don't want to think at all, if you like your sci-fi hard don't go near.
I was gifted the book. Alex was only a teenage boy when he lost everything – his home and family – by a horrific alien invasion. The first part of the book gives us an extensive insight into the invasion as well as the relationship Alex had with his parents, especially his father which made him the person he became. The book then moves forward 10 years and the aliens are returning. Alex is recruited as part of a group to take the fight to them on their planet. Alex is a character you can empathise with and you instantaneously like. It was a privilege to experience his development from a boy into a hero and so much more in the end. For me the style it was written in reminded me of Clive Cussler and Dan Brown. It’s filled with action and some very interesting twists and turns. The writer created vivid locations that draw you in with no effort. This book had my full undivided attention until the last page. This book is not a light read. It’s a hefty 725 pages that will thrill every sci-fi junkie out there. The ending left me stunned and wanting for more.
Met this author through Goodreads and thought I'd give his book a try. I LOVE the cover that's up on Amazon, and the synopsis sounded really cool. Unfortunately I couldn't get into the sample chapter that was provided online. I might have pressed onward, except that the blurb mentioned it was violent. (I don't do well with violence.) But I wish the author luck and hope he finds millions of devoted fans. :)
