Fairhaven is a small town with big mysteries. When a young librarian is found murdered in her workplace, the town is abuzz. Who could have killed the beautiful and hardworking mother?
FBI agent Ava James has endured many heart-wrenching periods in her life. After the recent trauma of escaping a twisted serial killer, Ava is just thankful to be alive and is trying to recover. In hopes of taking her mind off her own troubles, she immerses herself further in her work. Everything in Fairhaven is seemingly normal, until a young librarian is found dead. The mystery deepens when her husband and young children are nowhere to be found.
Who would want to harm the sweet young mother or her family? Could her husband be the culprit? Murderous secrets, scandals, and illicit deeds. The twists and turns in the case of The Librarian will break some hearts.
The first few pages were great even though they had nothing to do with the current plot. The outcome was predictable. The book was so boring I skipped over pages. The epilogue was good. Ava spends way too much time taking about herself and her issues. Very boring. Worse book I’ve read from AJ and I’m a fan of hers. I’ve read every book of the Ava James saga and this was by far the worst. Boring and hardly any action
This is the latest Ava James installment. She hasn't fully recovered from her ordeal with a serial killer but is now tasked with solving a difficult and high profile case. It is well written and I felt anxious until there was a break in the case. The team is great together and is very well portrayed and felt realistic. I also am happy to already know something about another case to come. The ending leaves readers satisfied yet looking forward to more. I'm also not unhappy that one of the characters from this case may not have really gotten away with his undiscovered crimes.
Ava has always been job oriented, more obsessed with every case than the rest. Always sleep deprived, still disturbed by her boyfriend/FBI Agent/serial killer. Not trusting her instincts since she fell in love with him. With this said, her character is becoming more cruel, more harsh with the team, less compassionate with them. Overall more strict and forceful, dry and unsympathetic. I don't want Ava to lose her humanity.
AJ Rivers is an incredible storyteller! This book did not disappoint!
When the librarian in the small town of Fairhaven is found murdered at her desk, FBI Agent Ava James and her team scramble to find the clues to link her murder to a killer. What they don't expect is the twisted, convoluted maze of evidence that points them in different directions.
I have read all of the books from all of the series and loved each one, but this one was terrible. I could not get into it, it took me almost 2 weeks to finish it and multiple times I thought about a dnf, but plan to continue the series and didn't want to miss something. This was not a typical easy read like the rest all I can say is im glad I finally finished it
This series just keeps getting better. And the way the books are all tied together keeps you wanting more. Luckily, AJ Rivers doesn't make us readers wait long between books. That said, I can't wait for the next installment.
Whew! What a twisted case Ava caught this time. Her poor team worked with no rest, and glad they all came through it better together. And what an ending! Looking forward to that story.
What a page turner this was. Ava James and her team were really put to the test on this one. I am glad they were able to solve it and come out on top. I have a feeling there is more to come.
This was one of A. J. Rivers best books yet. The twists and turns along with the unexpected turn of events kept me wanting to continue reading. I can't wait now for the next book of the series.
Loved this book. Loved the suspense and excitment. Can't wait for the next book. This book was not as good as the others in this series but I will keep on reading this series.
OMG!!!!!!!! This book was one of those you can't put down, I read it cover to cover. It was truly amazing, it just grabbed a hold of you and wouldn't let go, I am waiting on pins and needles for the next book.
Very complex story. It was difficult and demanding of Ava and her team. When they finally got Courtney solved the murders. if a person likes a difficult case this book is a read.
I love seeing Ava come into her own. It was a good read and I enjoyed the storyline. It just felt like it was missing something. Sort of like everything rolled up into a neat ball to easily. I still recommend the read though.
This book was intricate, filled with numerous twists and turns that held me captive as I tried to uncover the identity of the killer. I wasn't disappointed. Also, I like how readers get a glimpse of her next book. It builds the anticipation!
This was a excellent about Ava and team finding out who killed the librarian and solving the mystery with lots of suspense and action . Thank you for this great story.
Not my favorite of authors series. Good fbi process but not much character development. The characters are used only to move the action. Her other series have better characters
