In the middle of a prison riot, the psychopath who murdered my sister holds me hostage. Soulless eyes black, bloodied knife in his hand, my name a whispered threat on his lips.
My only hope is the three men fighting for my heart…and their lives.
Separated in the chaos, flames surround Rowe, the growly prison guard who acts like he hates me but always has my back.
Liam, my lawyer on the outside. I’ve only just realized the depth of my feelings for the boy I once despised in high school. I dragged him into all of this and now I need his help more than ever.
And cornered by violent criminals is Heath, the prisoner I’ve fallen for more with every day he’s been incarcerated. I know he’s innocent and I’m here to prove it, but I won’t get the chance if he doesn’t make it through the riot with his life.
I came here for one thing but with new prisoners comes new threats. As sins are exposed and secrets unravel, one thing becomes apparent.
The killer may not be as obvious as the man with his fingers wrapped around my throat.
Solitary Sinners is an adult #whychoose romance, meaning the main character has more than one love interest. This book contains enemies-to-lovers and romantic suspense / dark themes that may trigger some readers. It contains a male/male storyline. It is the second book in an ongoing trilogy and cannot be read as a standalone. Start the series with Locked Up Liars.
USA Today Bestselling author Elle Thorpe is the author of over thirty romance titles, including Amazon top ten books, Start a War and Locked Up Liars. She is best known for her dark reverse harems, and sexy small town romances.
When she's not writing, she's probably out on her family's alpaca farm in rural Australia.
Solitary Sinners is book two in the Saint View Prison series by Elle Thorpe. Holy Wow this book is amazing. I can’t stop reading! Please note that you need to read this trilogy in order beginning with Locked Up Liars. This book starts up immediately where that book left off and ends in a cliff hanger. The finale is book three, Fatal Felons, which I will be starting as soon as I’m finished typing this!
As I said, we start right were the previous book left off, in the midst of a prison riot. This night changed everything for all of our characters. It brought Liam and Mae closer as they tried to forget while in each other’s arms. I want to say here that I’m pretty much fully in love with Liam. There is so much more to this man than I ever could have imagined. And truly, he is carrying the weight of all of what is going on, on his shoulders. He made a promise to Mae to protect Heath and get him out of prison. To prove his innocence. But he’s beginning to wonder if he’ll really be able to keep that promise.
We also learn so much more about Rowe. We finally learn the secrets he’s been keeping. The guilt he carries. My heart broke for him. And as the story unfolds, a danger from his past returns and makes what is already a terrible situation even worse.
And then there is Heath, wrongly accused, not only for the original crime he is being tried for, but also for other things that happen throughout this book. It seems that he is constantly trying to do the right thing but it always turns out against him. There are also some secrets Heath is keeping about his own past that he feels guilty about but those have not yet been revealed!
And through it all, Mae is getting closer to all three of these men. Their connections are growing stronger, their feelings deepening. But the fate of Heath is hanging over all of their heads. They are trying to prove his innocence but they keep coming up against brick walls. While they are uncovering what truths they can find, Mae is slowly discovering that she didn’t really know her sister, Jayela as well as she thought she did!
Once again, we end on a huge cliff hanger but that’s okay because I’m going right on to the final book. I don’t know how I’m going to be able to hang on until the end because I need to know what in the world is going on. So off I go to find out!
This series is SO GOOD and SO ADDICTING. This picked up right where the cliffhanger of book one left us and I loved how it developed each relationship the heroine had with the three heroes. There was so much action and non-stop plot, so I couldn't stop listening to the audiobook! I literally finished this and a 1000 piece puzzle in one day because I couldn't stop. And another cliffhanger!? I'm jumping into book three immediately!!
Ou it’s getting good!! Even though this series has tropes I usually don’t enjoy like the sister’s boyfriend being a love interest and an MC being a widow, I don’t really mind it here. I’m still not a fan of it but I enjoyed the book so much that is didn’t affect my rating so I clearly really liked the book.
I’m very curious to see how they wrap this story up! I can’t even spend a lot of time on this review because I need to read the next book right now!
Wow. I thought the first book had a good cliffhanger; this one takes the cake. We learned some new information throughout this book, but it honestly feels like the cops aren't even doing anything to begin with. My main suspect did the unexpected and I'm not sure if it's because I'm supposed to be thrown off this trail or something else. My brain is easily confused, and I just want answers.
Other than the murder mystery, I'm still enjoying the slow burn romances brewing between everyone. I obviously can't wait until everyone's all together making some romance magic. Until then, I'll enjoy whatever I can get.
In the end, I need more answers than questions. Seriously. My brain can't take anymore.
Wow shouting at my kindle saying I KNEW IT! For some reason it wasn’t sitting right but of course leaving on a cliffhanger. But story is so good Amazon is loving me today because I’m buying the extra audio is just *chef kidd* with Heath’s deep voice…..
This serious really isn’t good for my anxiety because BOY was I on the edge of my seat with this one which btw was was spicer than book 1. Everyone is getting well acquainted now which YAY.
I have no complaints really, love all the boys and rn I no longer have a favorite. I’m just anxious to get to the bottom of who actually killed her sister.
This book. It took me on one crazy journey of emotions. I couldn’t put it down. It completely sucked me in.
Solitary Sinners pick up right where things were left off in Locked Up Liars and it was full steam ahead from there. I loved the growing connection between Mae, Liam, Rowe and Heath, all together and individually.
I loved getting to know more about each of these characters and their past. Rowe’s truly broke my heart. I loved getting more about Mae’s relationship with her father. Liam going to full on lawyer mode was fantastic. Heath, I love the guy. I feel for him so much and everything that he is having to deal with.
This book brings the heat. Seriously, grab a fan because it will be needed!! There were also some sweet scenes mixed in that I absolutely adored.
THAT ENDING. It’s been a couple days since I finished and I am still not over it. I am so ready for book 3 and I can’t wait to see how the mystery of who killed Mae’s sister is unraveled and of course, to see how everything works out between Mae and her men.
If you’re looking for a RH, suspense romance this is one to check out! Seriously, if you haven’t started this series DO IT! It is so good!
"If you tell me you're not a Harry Potter fan, this thing between us? it's done right now."
This book carry's on straight from where we were left with that cliff-hanger. The chaos of everything, you get more depth on the feelings on Mae, Liam, Rowe and Heath. You also get to learn more on each of their pasts. At the moment my favourite pair together are Mae and Liam. Liam is still trying to prove Heath's innocence's, while trying to find out who the real killer is. I enjoyed the book, I am completely hooked to the series, I read nearly in one sitting. However, I did feel like something was missing, I needed more of Mae and her men together.
honestly this series is such an interesting and quick read. i’m loving how the plot is playing out and the chemistry between mae and her boys. i’m also loving how the storyline between rowe and heath is playing out. i felt like this book was a little bit slower, but i loved that we got more of the relationship stories and we got more spice! 🤌🏻😌 i’m honestly ready for more between all of the characters though. i did love the cliffhangers at the end of both book 1 and book 2; made me want to dive into the next book asap! overall, a spicy and quick read
“with you, i just want to give you everything you’ve ever desired.”
These are just so good, you can't wait to get to the next book. Liam is still my favorite, but I am loving the whole Heath/Row dynamic. Not much to say, these are just solid reads with a good mystery to solve.
Oh MAN this series is wild! I'm really impressed with Elle's storytelling and characters. One of the few reverse harems that I like. I'm onto the finale and have already added the next trilogy to my TBR.
The author manages to keep my attention through another book which firmly puts her in one of my favourite author spots. The pace, plot, mystery, characters,... It just clicks and I need more!
This book jumped the shark. I am able to suspend all manner of disbelief and was cheerfully doing so as this book filled up with all kinds of nonsense about living and working in a prison. I was even looking the other way as it made a mockery of folks struggling against the very real problems with the prison industrial complex, its very racist roots, and oppressive capitalist underpinnings. It was bothering me, but giving up on a book I was still kind of enjoying didn’t seem in order. Besides this is smut so I was willing to let that all go. (#sueme)
But when they got to the trial, the book went so far off the rails in depicting U.S. court procedure and then the protagonists’ reactions and actions — not to mention the judge’s behavior — after the verdict! I just could not. Totally took me out of the universe. This is coming from someone who willfully blocked out what I learned in Civil Procedure so that I could keep enjoying Law & Order (#copaganda). I was totally into it, but couldn’t get past the courtroom stuff. Sigh.
I really wanted to love this series, like I did Saint View High, and I intend on reading Saint View Psychos, because I do enjoy the world Elle Thorpe has created.
Having said that, I did not enjoy this book and struggled to get through it. While it may end in an RH, the story is mostly the Liam and Mae show (and of course, due to the circumstances laid in the book, it has to be) but the character development in the other relationships was lacking because you can’t develop relationships from afar. True relationships, not instalove, which I’m not a big fan of.
I found the continuous references back to something that was already mentioned two or three times off-putting. As a reader, we do need to pay attention to the details being given and shouldn’t need constant spoon feeding in order to understand the characters or the plot. I also found the repetitive internal dialog about how much these guys adored the FMC annoying. It made the relationships seem too superficial without the depth we would expect from a three book series.
I listened to this book on audio and am completely addicted to the story. The narration seriously brings this book to life.
After the ending I needed to listen to book 2 straight away, I was hooked on the life of the characters and needed to know where the story was heading. I love them all so much in so many different ways.
I loved seeing how the relationships developed between them all 🖤 The spice seriously heated up in this book 🥵
I love the plot, so many twists and turns and I have so many theories about everything that’s happening.
The narrators really do make this book what it is for me. I felt all the emotions through them and like I was inside that story 😍
OMG though that ending, I was shouting in the car ‘no no no’ and ‘I knew that would happen’ 😱 now onto book 3. I can’t wait to get into it but I also don’t want the story to end.
Listen I like a book with spice, but the spice in this makes me laugh and cringe most of the time. There has got to be better phrases than chocolate starfish, or folds. But I do like the plot of the book, for that reason 3 stars!
