It's true what they say, some harems are growers, not showers. It doesn't feel too shocking that I've matched with another mate, and I'm good with these seven. The road ahead isn't the simplest, and sometimes I wish I could just move to a farm in the country and live the life of a normal conduit, but with angry pride males trying to force me into lewd public acts, a demon leaving me love notes, and a gargoyle to un-curse, there isn't anything simple about being this conduit.
With everyone declaring themselves my new roommates, it's far simpler to start to build relationships the way they should have been built from the get go. Now, if only I wasn't finding out about a contractual engagement to said demon that my mother made to save the world or something, I could actually breathe for a moment.
Kelsey Soliz is a homeschooling mama of four and army wife, and when she's not drinking copious amounts of tea or playing bassoon, she is dreaming up all kinds of romance story scapes or reading them like a maniac.
Delaney is still steadily collecting mates like Pokémons, but an arranged marriage comes to light as well.
Some of her mates are in a bit of hot water with Delaney, but I was thankful to see them all grow together. But this series definitely isn’t over yet.
These books are hilarious, even in serious moments, expect to laugh. Something’s are absolutely outlandish, but it is one of the many things I enjoy about Kelsey Soliz’s writing.
The spice is… wild. Like honestly it gets so hot but even those scenes usually have some humor in them.
I can't get enough of these books. I won't say this is my favorite of the series - I loved Gabriella so much - but this has the same humor, fun, drama and character development as all the others. I really should wait until all the books in the series are out because I want to keep binging!
Absolutely love this series! Love this installment with Delaney! I appreciate that we are caught up on mates, even if there are arguably two at large! The demon too!! Wow! I can't believe this just dropped so now I have to wait for more! Love that all the full mates were left in a good place!
I was that deeply drawn into this book that it was until I tried getting the next page that I realised it had ended! This was another brilliant instalment and I’m really enjoying the story and getting back into the Hemlock Academy series. I would highly recommend giving this book a read.
Omg that ending was so screwed up. I can’t believe he tricked her . I don’t understand how he thought that was a good idea. Plus the whole last few chapters dropped a bunch of truth bombs. I need the next book .
I’m so happy that some of the angst with her mates has dissipated throughout this book cause I was sooooo done with that mess. Fingers crossed her soon to be mates don’t pop up with a kid and we’ll be golden
Urgh, really? That's the cliffy you chose to leave us on? Dangit I knew I shouldn't have started the series until it was complete. Now I have to wait 8 months for the next book!!!!
Books 5–9 of Hemlock Academy, following Delaney’s story, were… an experience. This is definitely not your usual why choose, and honestly, it never pretends to be. There are questionable elements - very questionable - and to be fair, they’re questionable the whole way through. So… yay for consistency? 😅
The best way I can describe this arc is: a touch of Game of Thrones (yes, the incest - let’s just call it what it is), mixed with The Vampire Diaries, and somehow… My Little Pony. I wish I were joking, but I am not. If you don’t take this story seriously and you’re just here for chaos and laughs, this might actually work for you. I spent a lot of time going “okay, that’s questionable” and still kept reading, so clearly it has something going for it.
That said, by the end I was mostly confused and reminded exactly why this part of the series took me so long to finish. I liked the first part of the series way more. Delaney’s story was just plain weird, and some of her guys were a hard no for me. Urgh.
I’ll admit it: I’m a sucker for a large harem, which is probably why I pushed through and finished. I’m glad I did for closure’s sake… but I’m also slightly traumatized, and not in a fun way. Let’s just say certain recurring elements (involving potatoes, goat appendages, twins, and cartoon vibes) were too much by the end.
Overall: glad it’s done, but this arc wasn’t for me - and I’ll be pretending parts of it live in a separate universe.
