A marvellous book about the making of Vengeance Most Fowl using stop-motion animation. The book is full of photographs and sketches showing the process along with comprehensive text description. It shows how the film was made, going into detail, and describing the 'claymation' process of animating the models stage by stage in a painstaking process. Maybe it should now be called 'silimation' since silicon is also now used along with the clay. The photographs show how the sets were built and the incredible attention to detail. I was quite surprised at how small the character models seemed to be and yet the animators manage to put so much character and movement into their actions. A brilliant books for fans of Wallace and Gromit or of stop-motion animation.

I love Wally and Grommy, they are great guys, and I am 28 years old.

Jokes aside, this book was an enjoyable and insightful look into the process of making an Aardman film; which I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys Wallace and Gromit, is interested in behind-the-scenes information, or wants to gain an insight into the various stages of their art pipeline.

While the writing can sometimes feel like an extended magazine article, it really does cover a lot of ground in an accessible way! Showing how impressive Aardman is as an animation house.

It's really impressive how much they do internally, from CGI to prop creation.

Dipping into this when home alone with the film on in the background after telling my friends I’m too busy to meet up😍
