Rate this book
America is peaceful and back at the top of the world seventy years after the Second Revolutionary War tore through the country and gave birth to Central--the new government. For Lily Sandover the Second Revolution is just another war to learn about in school, until her political father gets promoted into Central and she is taught that everything is not as it appears.

Lily's family soon gets invited into a branch of Central that acts more like an exclusive club called the Commission of the People, and once you're in the Commission, you're in the Commission for life. The Commission of the People is responsible for keeping the peace of America, and Lily soon learns that the peace comes at an extremely high price.

Using her position inside the Commission, and the obsession that the leader of the Commission has for her, she tries to find a way to change the face of America and bring down the Commission of the People.

I finished this book in 1 day. However, it took me awhile to figure out how to do this review. I want to start by saying, I do not recommend this book for anyone under the age of 18 nor the faint at heart. If you are easily offended, this is not the book for you. Now, without giving spoilers what I loved about this book was that it put me on an emotional rollercoaster. I went through so many emotions with this book; fear, anger, sadness, joy as so on. The power struggle between the two main characters Lily and Dana is very intense. This book also shows you how easy it is for a good person to become corrupted by power, fear and politics. I was forced to think if I would have done the same thing in the characters situations. If you do pick up this book, just be prepared for anything...

Wtf

I'm not sure how to react to this book. It's almost not worth reading the first 2.5 books with the way this ends.

This book was just weird. The writer did a great job on the characters making them very whole and complex, but the ending seemed not finished if that makes sense. I did enjoy the darkness of it, but there were a lot of loose threads that left me wondering what happened to a lot of the characters. They just weren't mentioned again. I don't know if that was done deliberately or not.
