When shy Samantha snags the attention of the star quarterback, she only feels guilt. Being a high school senior has its perks. But being sick is not one of them. She has known Phillip almost her entire life. Having grown up across the street from him since they were six, his sister became her best friend, keeping him on the sidelines. Phillip may be under the stadium lights, but all his focus is on her. Samantha isn't sure if her illness will let her be normal enough to be anyone's girlfriend, let alone see graduation. Knowing her future is uncertain at best, she must fight to get well all while falling for her high school sweetheart. Yearbook is a poignant story, which explores the typical and not-so-typical ups and downs of high school life while living in both thrilling and tragic circumstances.
Well written YA and I absolutely love it! A high-school-sweethearts story that isn’t so typical of high school these days. Found it an emotional read about a high school senior who’s very ill with kidney disease awhile falling for her best friends brother
2⭐️ I think had I read this book in highschool, I would’ve rated it higher. The writing was easy to read, but sometimes felt like a fanfic or watt pad book. Which I have read my fair share of, and loved. But I think at my age of 25, it was not for me in this phase of life. But Overall it’s a well written YA novel, but there was some times I just completely found myself rolling my eyes at the plot and story line.
Don’t want to spoil anything. Finding love is one thing, but when you’re seriously ill, it’s a bit more of a challenge. CM Neff makes the unlikely, beautiful. I can’t wait for the Reunion to be complete!!
Well written YA and I absolutely love it! A high-school-sweethearts story that isn’t so typical of high school these days. I cannot wait until August 2024 for the sequel Reunion to see where everyone ends up!
SORRY?! We’re just skip past the end of the epilogue like that? I..what? Where’s the author? Criminal. Lock her up. Guilty. Your honor MY HEART IS BEATING OUT OF MY CHEST. The rest of the book was good though, really sheds a light on how a disease can affect someone without other people really knowing until it’s too late, especially someone so young to have a kidney disease. I did expect ol Phillip to do what Phillip did but what I didn’t expect was coaches reaction and that’s all I have to say because I’m crashing out over the end of the epilogue.
In all honesty, I don’t know how to feel about this book. I really tried to connect with the characters and the story was supposed to be touching, but I simply could not get invested. Not even the closing phrase gave me the slightest chill. A Walk To Remember vibes, but not the good kind.
they get together in less than 100 pages, I feel no emotion towards this book except the ick, although I did laugh like once…… I had to put it down after he “apologized to her stomach.” 😐
This YA has a golden retriver MMC and a FMC who is seriously ill. His devotion was a bit cringey for high school age but it did have me ugly crying. I saw how the story was playing out but the cliff hanger has me wanting to dive into the second book.
Such a good story! The mmc is amazing. He’s one of the best book boyfriends I’ve read. The story takes you on a heartbreakingly beautiful journey. I’m looking forward to book 2!
