While there is much to like in this picture book [2.5 for me!] about meteorology and the scientists who study weather, the brief section about Hurricane Katrina leaves out some important details and says that emergency response teams moved residents of the area to safety, which actually wasn't the case since the levees failed and many families were stranded. Since there was a deadly tsunami the year before, it seems as though there could have been a portion of the text devoted to that. I continue to like the digital illustrations, overall design, and online resources associated with this book and series. It's problematic, though, to simplify what happened during a natural disaster or extreme weather such as a hurricane. And yes, predicting weather can save lives IF humans heed the warning and have the resources to seek shelter or safer places.
