In Chasing The Impossible, Rachelle Rutherford, the CEO of Kids On The Move, unravels the gripping story behind the rise of this multi-million dollar non-profit dedicated to serving children with developmental delays and disabilities. With raw candor, she exposes the stark reality of communities ill-equipped to provide essential support structures for these families, laying bare the toll of the stress and isolation they experience.
Yet, amidst these challenges, Rutherford reveals Kids On The Move's unwavering commitment to bridging the chasm of care, blending calculated implementation of leadership and growth strategies with a culture of contribution and compassion. From innovative therapy programs to comprehensive support networks, she unveils the organization's groundbreaking initiatives that have reshaped the landscape of disability care.
But the journey is far from over. In Chasing The Impossible, Rutherford unveils plans on the horizon, yet again pushing the envelope and revolutionizing the definition of excellence in comprehensive disability care. In addition to issuing a stirring call to arms, urging communities to rally behind these families, the book serves not only as a testament to resilience but as a clarion call for collective action.
With heartrending accounts and bold visions for the future, Chasing The Impossible is more than a book—it's a rallying cry for change, a blueprint for a future where every child has the opportunity to be seen, known, and loved.

I have read the book Chasing the Impossible, which caught my attention, starting with its title. As mentioned by the author, Rachelle Rutherford, it presents a challenge. In my opinion, the model she proposes is an ideal approach to health and well-being that hopefully could be implemented worldwide for all families dealing with the inconveniences of having a member with some kind of disability. It is no secret that the health system has significant room for improvement in this and many other areas, with some places facing more challenges than others. However, this issue should be of general interest to families, doctors, and even governments, and it should be a top priority in every sense.
The author speaks of an inclusive, innovative, and accessible system where equity in access to medical and comprehensive care is a priority. She emphasizes that all existing actors in the public and private sectors should contribute to breaking down the social, economic, cultural, and even I would even say, geopolitical barriers that affect access to these services.

This is the story of Kids on the Move, a non-profit that was designed to help both the parents of these children and the youngsters impacted by these conditions as well.
It’s a touching story, and also one that has many lessons to teach. The CEO is this book’s author, and she is uniquely suited to talk about the challenges and struggles she and her partner had to overcome on their way to achieving eventual success. It’s not just the parents of kids with these conditions who should read this book, though. It can be a blueprint for anyone who wants to start a nonprofit and needs to know how to put it together from the ground up.

It is inspiring to hear stories of inclusion like these. These moms are unique, and you can see the power of not one but two mothers. They will do everything to help ensure their children have a great experience despite their disability. Stories like these will help inspire parents whose children have developmental disabilities or delays to have a more positive outlook regarding how they can prepare and ensure their children's future. With proper care and guidance, every child, regardless of circumstances, will be able to have a great childhood. It is the parent's or carers' responsibility to make that happen. Learn to advocate for them, especially for things you don't have experience with, and find the best resource to help them.

Having experience in the field, I've seen the difficulties the families endure, not only in the economic aspect. Every child is a world, and require diverse approach, so it's definitely not an easy task. Overall, a great read for people who want to understand more about disability.
Simply incredible. This book is really touching, it is incredible that there are this kind of books that remind not only the readers but also humanity in general of another reality. This type of book invites people to reflect and live in a different way by rewarding gratitude and service. Although sometimes it can be a book that can move people, it is pertinent that more and more people read it, so we ask to generate more awareness in people and thus increase solidarity among all, because there are some who do not have material and health privileges and yet they are happy and full! Incredible book, please support more causes such as these.
I like how Chasing the Impossible deals with topics no so much mentioned. Author Rutherford’s aim here is to help others feel empowered and determined to achieve anything they want when they have a family member with disabilities.
Working with people with special needs is not left aside here, including them in any job or activity is something which is not as difficult as it may seem.
Rutherford’s book is inspirational, uplifting, and it can instil positive vibes in any reader out there. I love the way she speaks to us, making us feel as if we were her acquaintances. I absolutely recommend it!

A completely inspiring and heartbreaking book, I think many business and leadership books are based on common consumer product businesses, but reading about strategies from the hand of a woman who created a now multi-million dollar company focused on helping children with disabilities is a completely different story. Besides being a very interesting book, with applicable and clear strategies, what I liked the most was the emotional part and above all to read all the future plans that are presented in the reading. Truly, a book that I recommend to everyone; it will empower you and open your mind to how helping others can also generate wealth and welfare. It is amazing.
A heartfelt journey into the world of disability care and the resilience of the families that push all the challenges the world has. The stories and the photos were really moving and it impacted me the dedication behind Kid on the Move. I think it is the first time I see QR codes through the read, it was interesting, although grabbing the phone can be a challenge to let go after, I think it is a dynamic touch to read more. To conclude, the book is a very powerful and compelling read that celebrates the courage of the families besides the people with disabilities.
I certainly appreciated the forward-looking perspective that the author provides. Her vision for future initiatives highlights that the journey toward inclusive care is ongoing, encouraging readers to think about what can be done collectively to support children and families. In my opinion, Chasing the Impossible is a hopeful and urgent reminder that with the right support, every child can thrive. I’ve worked with families raising children with developmental delays and other special needs for over 20 years. It is rewarding work. This book shares the stories of how Kids On The Move came to be and of families who are facing the challenges of surviving and thriving with their awesome children. I have utmost respect for them and appreciate how the book validates their needs and advocates for streamlined services and community support.
The book read as an advertisement for an organization. I work in the nonprofit sector and thought I may gain some insight on how to run a nonprofit, but it was just testimony telling how great KOTM is. I agree that’s a great org but I don’t need to read an entire book on it.
Great book. It is humbling to thoughtfully consider the difficulties parents face rearing children with disabilities and learning development delays. The book outlines a great cause and a great model to enhance care in this space.
