Join Beth Moore as she explores what it means to know and truly believe God--as described in Isaiah 43:10. Drawing from the "Heros of Faith" in Hebrews 11, this study examines the lives of Abraham, Moses and others who believed God. Through their examples, Beth encourages women to deepen their own trust in God and receive a fresh word from Him.

Life-changing. All that I thought I believed was put before me and, I realized that so many things I said that I believed did not actually reside in my heart. I finished this Bible study and was so impacted that I immediately did it again. The months that I was submerged in this Bible study ignited in me a love of Scripture and a deep trust in God that I didn't realize I was missing in my 20+ year walk with God.
Wow! What an amazing study! SO many tactics to help increase my faith and be more bold. I love the history she goes into. Fun to study the faith chapter in Hebrews. In their time they were all ordinary people who rose to the extraordinary challenge of God- and have thus been talked about for thousands of years since.
I did not have the leader guide. Just the regular book but couldn’t find it on here. This devotional is a great read for those working to revive and reconnect within their faith. It reminds us know matter where we are in our Faith walk, God never leaves us.?
I did this study when it was 100% online as something new. I loved it. 14 years later I remember her points: 1. God is who He says He is. 2. God can do what He says He can do. 3. I am who God says I am. 4. I can do all things in Christ. 5. God’s word is alive and active in me.
I absolutely love Beth Moore's Bible studies and I've done several of them but I have to say that this is probably my favorite. To be fair though, I tend to think that at the end of each but this time I really mean it. This study is such a eyeopening experience on whether you believe in God or whether you actually believe Him. It's pretty interesting to start noticing the distinctions between the two. Do I really believe everything that the Bible says about my life, about who he is, about who I am? Those are the questions that his book really tries to dig deeply into in order to challenge you to start believing God.
This series focuses around five core beliefs that the reader is encouraged to adopt: 1. God is who He says He is 2. God can do what He says He can do 3. I am who God says I am 4. I can do all things through Christ 5. God's word is alive and active in me.
These five beliefs are the basis of the study and you spend a week on each developing the thought more in depth and learning what it really means. She challenges the reader in a lot of places to deal with things that don't have easy answers. Why do things work out for one family and not another? Can God really love me if something bad happens to me or my family? Can I still be the kind of person this study is talking about with the things I've been through? Why don't we see more miracles or any miracles today? She may not have an answer to all of these that we find satisfactory but she does give the reader evidence from the Bible and discuss these in her video/listening sessions.
Another part of this study that I really enjoyed was that during the last couple of weeks of study, she challenges the reader to begin to look back over their life and look for places where God has intervened and made things work out. Or for events that shaped them into the person they are today. This is a power tool because it takes the reader back through all the good and bad that has happened in their life and makes them focus on what came from each of those situations. It can bring a lot of healing to look at something that was so difficult in the past and realize that you've come through it stronger and better.
I'd highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to grow in their faith and start living life they way we're meant to as Christians.
This was an outstanding Bible study. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to really dig deep within themselves. It was thoroughly enjoyed for all 10 weeks by myself, as the facilitator, and the 20 or so ladies in the "Women Journeying Through the Bible" study group at my church. It was a typical Beth Moore in the sense that she spent a great deal of time researching and therefore providing details to us relating the times, customs, etc. It was a great balance between the Old Testament (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Joshua and the Psalms) and the New Testament. The homework required a good hour each day, plus another hour or two for me to prepare for the weekly group. It had depth and really made us reach deep inside ourselves. We had to break our lives into 5 segments (our age divided by 5)then examine our spiritual walk within each segment - where we were, where we are and where we are heading. Each week generated rich discussion and fellowship among the group, followed by the 1 hour DVD. I am leaving this Bible study "filled" - accomplishing what we set out to. But, of course, a little saddened that it is over. BUT . . . not to worry - another Bible study follows this one ;-) Be blessed as you bless others.
I certainly didn't stick to the 9 week timeline on this one, but I am SO glad I finished the homework in this book even long after the DVD series ended. It has been SUCH a challenge and encouragement to me. I feel newly motivated in consistent study of God's Word, and also very encouraged to let my heart be defined by faith in Jesus - faith as a daily CHOICE, not just based on the feelings of the moment.
An in-depth part of the study has you examine your life history and note the marks of God's work in your past - it has been so encouraging to identify those places along the way, and a very good exercise in remembering what God has done, as I am so prone to forget!! This part of the study is hard work and sometimes painful to remember hard things, but so rewarding to recognize places where God has blessed and intervened in the midst of those times.
This study book is definitely worthwhile to go through as a personal or group study even if you didn't have access to the DVD sessions, as the homework is not completely interwoven with the sessions.
I get what Beth was trying to do with this study, but it has been my least favorite thus far. It took me a long time to get through. Reasons? Well I didn't like all the word definition study. I don't know what it is about it, but I just don't like it. I also did not like delving into my past. And its not like my past is that bad, so I can't imagine what this would be like for someone who does have a horrible past. It just seemed so self-absorbed and what i am looking for right now is knowledge of the Bible not myself
do this study NOW! at first, i'll admit, i thought it was cheesy but as i continued through the study, it began to feel like i was sitting down with a beloved friend to meet with the Lord every day and she began to open my eyes to amazing Truths that i desperately needed to believe. She has an amazing way of coming alongside you through her words and fighting for the furthering of God's kingdom in your heart as you read..
Such a great bible study done by a wonderful author Beth Moore. She is so down to earth and wants you to learn to love the Lord by not telling you that you need to. She wants to show what it means to love the Lord and what it will do for your life. Wonderful for anyone who is wondering about what their faith means to them.
I'm believing God. A great and powerful bible study book! I'm so glad that I went through this one with my small group. Such a powerful tool! Beth Moore really provides a great insight into how we need to be actively believing God and not just believing in Him. But believing everything about God is happening. :)
this was quite a workbook. i'd recommend it to all of the sister homegroups. it really helped me find a sure foundation in my beliefs. i had an unforgettable time with the sisters in my homegroup when we worked through this book and watched the dvd messages that correlate to each week's lessons.
I put that I read it, but in all honesty I never seem to get through an entire Beth Moore study. However, it was truly a great study about stepping out in faith and not only believing in God, but believing God.
Led me to a deeper faith in God. Encouraged me to turn over things in my life to Him, and through this He showed me in larger-than-life ways that He is who He says He is and He can do what He says He can do.
I'm currently doing a study on this book with some wonderful friends of mine! I am learning so much about truly believing God with all of my heart!!!!! I'm learning to not just stop at "everything happens for a reason" and instead PURSUE God and start believing and receiving!!!!
One of my favorite studies by Beth Moore. I did this study several years ago and I continue to benefit from the practice of really, truly believing what God says in his word is true, and it's true for me.
This has been my least favorite of the studies of Beth's I've done, but I think a lot of that was just where I was in my own walk at the time. It was still really good though.
