Old wounds have been opened. Sins and secrets revealed. While Darragh is in Dublin, I'm punished for past lies and forced into a secret marriage with another man in Montreal. But when bullets fall like rain and turn my bloody world upside-down, I seize my chance to run. From my new husband. From my father. From Darragh Gowan most of all.
But even from across an ocean, Darragh is still capable of controlling me. And I'm about to find out there there is no escape from him. I have nowhere left to run...
Unless it's straight into his trap.
A Trap So Flawless is a dark age gap mafia romance and it is part two of Darragh and Valentina's duet. Part one, A Game So Reckless, must be read first.
(Reread) 8/19/25 • i love this extra-as-hell, down bad, feral & unhinged mafia man. i love this snarky and determined and stubborn-as-hell protective & loyal mafia lady just as much. their duology remains *chef’s kiss* immaculate, 100/10
—————— 5 ⭐️ ARC • FINISHED IN LESS THAN 12 HOURS AND IT WAS EVERYTHING I WANTED.
the cliffhanger from “a game so reckless” was brutal to me — the stakes were high for valentina & darragh, and of course, everything went wrong one thing after the other.
i loved the tension between the two of them continued into this one — they both had a lot on the line, a lot to lose, and their parallel journeys to deciding they wanted each other more was **chef’s kiss** impeccable.
i love a truly morally gray man — and darragh is feral and nuts and very much morally gray. valentina is young, but she understands the stakes and seeing her get some of her own agency and power back was perfect too!!
spicy scenes continued to be spicy, but more than that, it was darragh’s *gestures.* he is up there with elio for dropping one-liners and dramatic statements that manage to be romantic despite themselves, but his gestures too with valentina had me gasping out loud.
once again, i LOVE being an arc reader for vero heath — i am so excited to add this one to my physical collection, and omfg am i excited for curse’s book to be next!!!

🖤 “My heart is within you.” ~~~ The story continues right from where the previous one ended. And with how everything went so wrong in the previous book, I was more than ready to see how Darragh and Valentina’s relationship would evolve.
While Darragh is in Dublin dealing with his grandfather’s loss, Valentina (even though engaged to him) is married to another man. But that marriage doesn’t last long. Afterwards, I loved Valentina’s strength and courage to take her fate in her own hands and flee the country and her family. Only to end up back in Darragh’s arms, because the leader of the Irish mob in Toronto is not a man who’d easily let go of what’s his. And now? All bets are off.
I adored Darragh and Valentina together! I loved the tension, I loved the bickering and I absolutely loved the passionate moments they shared. Both had a lot to lose and, yet, they just couldn’t give each other up. I loved that Valentina continued to be her fierce, stubborn and reckless self. And Darragh.. Oh, he’s just as unhinged, possessive and obsessive as ever. But! We also get a glimpse of some unexpected sides of him, too. Who could've thought that this ruthless and violent mob boss could be so dramatically romantic?! Not only that, but he was so considerate of Valentina’s wants and needs. (And don’t get me started on the waffles and the sticky notes - I’m still both laughing and swooning when I think about those scenes!).
Valentina and Darragh shouldn't fit so well together and, yet, they absolutely do. And I couldn’t get enough of either of them!
Overall, the story is another delightfully dark addition to the series and the perfect conclusion to Darragh and Valentina’s story. It’s filled with danger, intrigues, betrayals, twists, violence, tension and smoking-hot passion.
Darragh and Valentina are my favorite couple from this series. Who doesn't love an unhinged man who is insanely possessive and would eliminate any man who touches you? Now, that's a man after my own heart! 😈😍
Darragh and Valentina shared an intense sexual tension that neither could ignore despite their best efforts. They tried their hardest to stay apart, even placing thousands of miles between them, yet Darragh couldn't stop wanting her, even knowing they both had so much to lose.
These two had me laughing out loud with their witty banter, and the playful jabs they made at each other were entertaining. Let's not forget all the steamy moments between them and all the sweet, small gestures he does for Valentina. 🥰
There is no better person than Darragh, who would love Valentina the way he did. These two were meant to be, and I had the best time with their journey.

I'm so excited to continue this series with Curse's book!
OH MY GOD I love this series so much!!! I was lucky enough to get to binge the first 3 books and get on the arc team for this fourth book!! Vero Heath brings us the conclusion to Valentina and Darragh’s story (this can’t be read as a standalone)!! I was screaming at the end of the last book and so ready to see what Darragh was going to do!! He’s back in Dublin to deal with family stuff and Valentina has been whisked to Montreal by her papa to marry another man behind his back. When Valentina gets her chance to run though, she takes it. She doesn’t realize she can’t run from Darragh though, he will twist and bend and burn the world to get her back. I’m so obsessed with his crazy ass!!! I love these two so much. Darragh broke my heart over and over again with his vulnerability when it comes to Valentina. I love seeing big powerful men made weak by love 🥹 Darragh and Valentina have to work so hard and wade through so much sh!t to get their HEA, but it’s beautiful and worth it 😭😭 if you like mafia romance then you NEED to be reading this series!!! I’m so freaking excited for the Curse to be getting his HEA next!!!!!
Valentina & Darragh I took way too long to go back to this story. I loved the first part but hated the cliffhanger. Now I got to see what her “Dad” was up to. Is it fast paced? Yes. Do I mind? No, not at all. We already covered a lot of things in the first part, this second part was all about admitting what we already saw happening. I loved Valentia & her fierceness, but I loved Darragh’s soft side even more. I love how things got uncovered, questions got answered and how Darragh chooses his own fate. How he decides what’s best for him and what he needs most. I think Valentina is the only one who is strong enough to stand beside him and I loved how it all ended.
I definitely liked this better than the second book in Elio’s duet. It was the perfect length. And it really showed Darragh’s softer side 🥰🥰. My one, I guess gripe, is Valentina’s lack of ambition. In the previous duet, she mentioned she would have wanted to go to school and start a business as an aesthetician. I didn’t see any of that drive or ambition in this book, which was a bit disappointing.
I do love those two together, but I feel it was rushed in book two. So more can be added. I really want Elio and Curse help their cousin so bad because she did everything to her family. She is such an awesome chapter I just love her soul for Irish lover. He is totally bad ass. I will miss those two a lot.
I really enjoyed A Trap So Flawless! The chemistry between Valentina and Darragh was intense—dark, raw, and so addictive. Darragh was perfectly ruthless and possessive, just how I like them🤭🤭
But… I do wish the ending had slowed down a bit. It felt a little rushed after all that build-up. I wanted more—more angst, more burn, more pain. Still, it was a delicious read and I couldn’t put it down.
”Tell me that you’ll marry me.” “That isn’t a question.” “No, it’s a fucking plea.”
Valentina and Darragh are the mafia romance power couple. Somehow Vero took everything I loved from the Elio and Deidre’s story and elevated it to the next level. Vero, you dropped this 👑.
Such a great read from start to end! Vero Heath’s series is some of the best mafia. Didn’t love this as much as the first because Valentina annoyed me most of the book while I just felt bad for Darragh.
Favourite Quote ”I’d lose it all to marry you. But I need to know that I won’t lose you in the process. Because if I do lose you, pet, then I’m not gonna fucking make it.”
Holy mother of Mary the twists TWIST in this one. Poor Darragh just wants to have the girl he loves and instead Valentina’s dad mucks everything up. I’m so glad these two got a HEA and I am SO looking forward to seeing their cameos in the next one.
Esta parte me gustó más, estaban hecho el uno para el otro, es una pareja que si veo que dure para siempre porque son casi la misma persona y eso es bien lindo.
