A deadly daywalking vampire, a super-sized serial killer, and a deceptive director all dog Agent Mendoza’s steps. Can he unravel the conspiracy behind the murderous rampage, before death comes knocking at his door?Agent Tony Mendoza has a sleeping problem… every time he falls asleep, he dreams of her.
But it’s not any cozy, cuddly encounter his subconscious conjures, nor some kinky, carnal congress.
Instead, Tony’s nights are haunted by nightmares of his supernatural stalker bleeding him dry.
He’s also seeing things. Shadows flitting at the edges of his vision, cloaked figures lurking in darkened doorways, and a 7-foot-tall homeless man who accosts him and disappears.
Except, the leviathan vagrant turns out to be real—and he’s killing people close to home.
As the murders edge toward Tony's inner circle, the detective suspects his insidious inamorata might be the cause.
Now, Agent Mendoza has to track down the killer and dig up the dirt on his vampiric tormentor, all while being stonewalled by the mysterious and secretive Director Strickland.
The clock is ticking. Will Tony connect the clues in time to prevent the deaths of his closest friends? Or will he fall prey to the vicious vamp’s witchery, sacrificing his autonomy, forever?

C.E.R.B.E.R.U.S stands for "Clandestine Enforcement and Reconnaissance Bureau Extranormal Rampart Division of the United States." A cross between the FBI, the Men of Letters, the B.P.R.D, and the Federal Bureau of Control, CERBERUS investigates paranormal events, acting as the last line of defense between humanity and the supernatural.
Treasonous Magic is the third full-length novel and fourth entry in this highly-original paranormal law enforcement series. Written by M.D. Massey, the story features characters from Massey’s Druidverse® contemporary fantasy setting.
If you enjoy urban fantasy novels featuring intrepid detectives, valkyrian vampires, murderous mystics, sexy shifters, and a stimulating storyline that never lets up, then you’ll love Treasonous Magic. Grab your copy and dive in, today!
M.D. Massey describes himself as the prototypical INTJ. His eclectic background provides him with a rich tapestry of experiences to draw on when crafting fiction, as evidenced by the believable worlds and relatable characters he creates.
As a former Army combat medic (91B), professional martial arts instructor (Krav Maga, JKD, FMA), and women's self-defense instructor, he possesses a unique understanding of close combat, firearms, and criminal violence that few authors can match. This knowledge provides an element of realism to the Druidverse™ novels, setting them apart from other fantasy series.
Mr. Massey lives in the Texas Hill Country with his family and a huge American bulldog that keeps him company while he writes. When he's not in his office or at the local coffee shop writing, you can find him in his garage pummeling inanimate objects or knife-fighting with his friends.
Tony is in over his head and has a golem trying to kill his friends
CERBERUS has many secrets and Agent Tony Mendoza is out to unravel them. His team is at risk from the golem and the one controlling it. Plenty of action and mayhem. Cara's still dating Tony but an old flame wants him back under her thumb.
Per usual for the author there was lots of excitement. Tony is such a unique character. Frightening in his abilities, but also self-aware of his dark side. It reminds me of Grimm from the Demon Accord series. I love Sophia. I wouldn’t mind a spin-off with her. We also need a prequel of Marlena’s exploits. That lady is awesome. The next book is going to be interesting. I can’t wait.
This really scratches the itch between junkyard Druid novels. I’m starting to like this character more and more. I’m very interested to see where he interacts with Colin.
I swear, Tony Mendoza is half a moron. Oh he's effective enough facing those supernatural and fae of the world beneath but the bad decisions he makes, aye chihuahua! Another fun novel featuring CERBERUS.
Treasonous Magic was a fun ride to go through. I’ve enjoyed the deepening mystery surrounding CERBERUS and its past. Mendoza continues to be an interesting protagonist to follow along with. I hope to get to read more of his adventures in the future.
Solid extension of the Cerberus series. Agent Mendoza continues to evolve and adjust as his team and friends are even more richly developed and engaged.
