All the details one could ask for when it comes to steroids. The book goes briefly over the physiology of hypertrophy (increase in muscle size), the chemical and biological properties of testosterone and its main derivatives, and simple therapy cycles. Then the author dives into what seems like every known steroidal and non-steroidal compound associated with bodybuilding. There's the chemical interaction, user study references, history of development, enumeration of possible side-effects with statistics when available, and so on for every single one of them.

At about a 1000 page, this is probably not meant to be read cover to cover, but I was engaged enough to push through, albeit with some skimming of repetitive portions (like oral steroids are hepatotoxic and you don't need to read that a 100 times). This clarified the very confusing and almost feared subject of steroids for me to a good extent. If you are curious about steroids, and want to actually learn how they work without the extreme stigma that comes attached with the topic, I can highly recommend this book!

A Guide To Your Body
What would happen if your vital functions in your body stopped working like your liver or kidneys. William Llewellyn devoted his life to nutrition and the human body and became very knowledgeable to the point he created his own book to share his information. In his book, he goes over every single chemical formula of anabolics known to man. Everyone should read Anabolics because it is very informative and has a great overview and breakdowns of what a certain substance may do to your body.
Anabolics is a good book to be familiar with when you want to go into a nutrition and bodybuilding standpoint because it informs you about all the affects one substance does to your body. The book is very well structure and has a really nice way to give out tons of information. It does not crowd words together so don’t stumble over words and fully grasp in the information. All of the explanation also comes with a visual representation to help explain what the text is trying to describe. It also feels fresh and interesting to open this book and read it because it spaces all the paragraphs and with the visual representation, the book always keeps you interested in every substance it states.
This book does have a lot of positives but, comes with some negatives too. For example the book tends to jump to different topics and time and instead of focusing on one thing, it trys to make you try to fit the pieces together yourself and does not try to fully explain certain substances
I think you should read Anabolics and fully absorb all the information and get a bigger understanding about how certain ingredients and substances work in your body, and potentially help you stay clear of the harmful ones to keep you safe.
On good reads a reviewer suggested that, “ It explains everything in plain English including any dangers and side effects. Great book!”, I agree with his statement because it truly explains everything down to the pinpoint

A very comprehensive guide. However, I feel that the dosages suggested by William Llewellyn are ridiculously low. Somebody new to the game might find the results underwhelming.

This serves as a reference book for me. Whether you are a trainer, a steroid user or someone who has interest to best know the effects, types, dosages and uses of all the widely-used steroids and how to use them in the best manner for minimal side effects, you can't go wrong with this book.

One of the rare scientific books on a critical subject. I was happy with the depth of the book & the fact it was build on research. Also the comprehensiveness in the book covered all the possible queries on the subject.

Great overview on the theory and application behind the use of Anabolics/Androgens for performance enhancing purposes. Just enough scientific detail to inform, but not overwhelm the reader.
