• With its clever technical execution, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧'𝐬 "𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐔𝐄" can win your heart. After reading this book cover to cover, I discovered that…Not all books have the power to make a lasting impression on you. Another thing, though, is that I did not have high expectations for this book! I will be purchasing the paperback shortly! 🥂
• I can not even explain to you how I felt while reading it, but the entire idea and narration are spot on. This book, in some way, 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟𝐬, 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. The plot revolves around a girl named Hope. Additionally, the author uses 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 to transport you to the future. The happenings here are heart-wrenching and extraordinary. 🍻
• "𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐔𝐄" is a 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠-𝐨𝐟-𝐚𝐠𝐞 story about the 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐮𝐢𝐭 of 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝. Although 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 is one of the most important characters in this story and my favorite, I also think her 𝐝𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐲𝐚 is my favorite. What a unique name! The emotions are preserved throughout the lines. There is nothing you can do about it. I was inspired to read more by this book in many ways. The investigation of artificial intelligence and other human challenges are discussing the harshness of life. 🌙
• “𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐔𝐄” is a worthwhile book. I like the way this story unfolds. This story has such a beautiful and seamless flow. The characters fit the plot and make timely appearances. Dr. James John's speculative fiction piece, 'Value,' is a book that seeks to plumb the ethical, emotional and sociological impact of adhering space and advanced artificial intelligence. Set in a world where exponential technological growth is both an opportunity and a threat, this book presents a vision of the future that is as unsettling as it is thought-provoking. Through the journey of an Indian immigrant family and the central character, Hope, Dr. John illustrates the transformation of human values in a technologically-dominated world.
It starts of with Alice and Job, immigrants from India who wants to get a good life for his family in United States. The narrative turns to the focal point of their daughter, born in 2025, Hope. Hope grows up in a world where AI has changed the face of everything. By 2035. Humanity extends its ambitions further and further outward to Mars, whose colony on that new world becomes the Martian settlement of Orion 1 as the impacts of climate change worsen. Hope, and later her daughter, Bhavishya, navigate this rapidly evolving landscape, balancing personal survival with the broader quest for human progress.
The narrative juxtaposes humanity’s relentless push toward technological progress with its failure to care for Earth. Bhavishya’s view of Earth as a distant, almost mythical place adds an emotional layer to the question: What does it mean to truly care for one's "global home"?
One of the novel’s strongest points is its ability to ground large-scale speculative ideas in intimate human stories. Hope’s character is remarkably relatable, representing the struggle of a mother trying to preserve her values and provide a meaningful life for her child. Dr. John explores Hope’s relationship with Bud, her AI, in such a way that it reflects both companionship and dependency. This relationship mirrors how technology can simultaneously connect and isolate individuals.
Bhavishya, Hope’s daughter, brings a fresh perspective to the story. Growing up on Mars, she perceives Earth as a lost paradise, highlighting the sacrifices made for technological progress. Her character adds a generational depth, as she represents the next wave of humanity raised with advanced technology and detached from Earth’s original beauty. This duality adds emotional gravity to the environmental message in the story.
The author's ability to interweave Hope’s family dynamics with broader societal transformations makes the story accessible and impactful. This duality of focus on intimate relationships and global issues makes the book a resonant, multi-dimensional experience.
The author doesn’t shy away from raising challenging ethical questions, from the autonomy lost to AI’s control to the ethical limits of migration to other planets. These questions are presented thoughtfully, without forced answers, allowing readers to grapple with them at their own pace.
At times, the novel delves deeply into technical descriptions of AI and Mars colony logistics, which may slow the pacing and lose readers less interested in scientific specifics. These passages, while informative, detract slightly from the novel's emotional core.
Certain elements, such as the inevitability of Mars colonization, felt somewhat predictable. However, the depth of character development compensates for these expected plot points.
In conclusion, it is more than just a sci-fi book; it’s a profound exploration of human resilience and adaptability in the face of transformative challenges. Through relatable characters and a richly imagined world, the book offers a mirror to our present-day choices regarding AI, climate change, and human values. The book is a testament to the importance of balancing technological advancement with ethical considerations and environmental stewardship.
This book will resonate with readers who enjoy thought-provoking, emotionally complex science fiction. It encourages introspection, questioning our values and the kind of world we want to build for future generations. For anyone interested in the intersections of technology, human nature, and environmentalism, it is a must-read that will leave you reflecting long after you turn the final page.
Value by “Dr. James John” unveils the concepts of life and lifestyle, which will be highly influenced by the massive growth of Artificial Intelligence in the near future. The story of “Value” begins in the year 2035, where the author depicts how mere a part of science AI was, but as of now(2035), hovering all over the world, it has now turned into a reality that can be seen. The writer has explored various components and articulated them with the theory of “How the leading generation will be making their own world with the aid of AI”. Because, now all we can only think of will be playing as a major cast of the future theatrics. Beyond fiction, the value of each belief and aspect will automatically change with the exponential development of Artificial intelligence or superintelligence.
“Value” the book, dives into the realm of the shifting of paradigm with the immense growth of Technologies and quantum computers. This book features a 10-year-old girl, Hope. She has a robotic companion, which is an art of AI; its name is Bud. Bud has the ability to grasp all the emotions curling inside a human, even the micro-expressions that we humans might miss; Bud can instantly be aware of it. He connects with Hope more than her parents. Meanwhile, her parents are both intrigued by Bud’s impeccable powers and worry because the constant presence of Bud in Hope’s life may hinder her capabilities in various fields.
Given this story, many forecasters, Scientists, and other future observers are not sure about AI being a boon or a curse for the technology-driven world, but for a certain period of time, it will be the best thing to happen to the world, society, and its people. In the backdrop of this story, the author has also included the discovery of life on Mars and how it becomes convenient to travel between these planets. With the passage of time, Hope moves to Orion 1 with her two-year-old daughter, Bhavisya, due to the climate disbalance in the earth. The book further narrates deeper and broader concepts of the Earth and Mars through the perspective of Bhsvisaya.
As the main concept of the book, the narrator has detected or observed that the Technical singularity will soon be dominating and will have its claws on the world. While other futurists don't see it, the digital singularity will happen sooner rather than later.
Value narrates a story of the future of the human race wherein advanced AI will shape the world. The book follows the lives of two Indians settled in the US and their daughter Hope. The story begins in 2035 where Hope is a 10 year old kid living in a world where AI reshapes every.
Each of the characters of the book has a different perspective of the world they live in. Grandma Mary who spent more than half of her life on Earth reminiscing a time before AI. The narrative follows Hope's life who eventually leaves Earth along with her daughter Bhavishya and settles on Orion 1 whereas Hope's child Bhavishya experiences an earth different from her ancestors.
Value highlights the fact that with fast changing technologies and advanced AI we are approaching a world where technology will dominate. Narrated in a simple language, the book is easy to understand and draw connection with reality. Each one of the characters are very well developed. With a medium pace and well developed characters, the book has enough twists and turns to keep the reader hooked till the end.
The main theme of the book is AI and how humans are too much dependent on it that it seems nearly impossible to imagine a life with technology. However too much dependency can have horrific repercussions too. The book highlights the fact about how AI shapes human values and relationships. There are themes of environmental issues arising due to AI, the war between man and machine and the quest for survival.
Value is a thought provoking, intellectually stimulating and emotionally engaging science fiction that deeply resonates with the readers. I personally loved the futuristic concepts on which the book is being written. Value takes the readers through a journey from the perspective of three generations and how the advancement of technology affect each.
Tropes: Sci-fi AI evolution Futuristic approach Environmental decadence Digital singularity
'Value' by Dr James John resembles a very authentic approach for our future generations with the growing dependency on artificial intelligence in our current times. This story is a blend of all the possible outcomes with the growing population, need of perceiving things with a fresh point of view not with the old traditional ways, the growing deterioration in the climatic conditions due our negligence and what kind of impact it holds for our future generations. Set in 2035, this book is a coming of age story with the main character Hope who is navigating through a world transformed by AI as a 10 year old. This book shows us Hope's story in a mind stimulating and thought provocative way.Hope has a robotic companion named Bud which we can say is very much similar to walking talking human but who has a very intensified ability to grasp human emotions(if you have watched big hero 6 then you can easily relate Bud to Baywatch),Bud connects with Hope more than her parents.Meanwhile her parents are more on the concerned part as they not only see bud as helpful companion but as a way to separate their daughter from the real world. Further down the book, the narrative follows Hope's life who eventually leaves Earth along with her daughter Bhavishya and settles on Orion 1 whereas Hope's child Bhavishya experiences an earth different from her ancestors.
This book deals with digital singularity as many scientists or even scholars argue the if this much growth in AI and other technologies should be considered a boon or an evil part of the growing world .Some say it the inevitable future but some argue that it can still be used in a controlled way and benefit the world. Value takes the readers through a journey from the perspective of three generations and how the advancement of technology affect each of the generations.
This book touches upon the era of 2035, with the narrative opening with 10-year-old Hope, witnessing a radically altered world shaped by a powerful surge in AI capabilities. The novel doesn’t just follow her life but reveals, through her eyes, how technology both inspires awe and raises existential questions. Humanity, in the author’s speculative 21st century, is at once capable of creating a Martian colony, Orion 1, yet remains vulnerable to Earth’s increasingly volatile climate. The young Hope eventually becomes a mother herself, bringing her daughter, Bhavishya, into a world that will require humanity to reimagine not only survival but also responsibility toward its original home, Earth.
In an eloquent narrative arc, Bhavishya inherits the wonder and burden of a planet struggling to reconcile advanced technology with sustainable ethics. I liked the concept wherein the novel cleverly juxtaposed the promise of Martian exploration with the critical need for Earthly stewardship, inviting readers to question what it means to be “human” in an age when borders—between species, planets, and digital beings—are blurred. I found the author's writing style and narrative tonality to be vivid yet contemplative, balancing the marvel of future possibilities with the weight of present choices.
This book transcends the traditional sci-fi genre, grounding its futuristic vision in deeply human experiences of family, migration, and resilience. At its core, it’s a meditation on what we owe to ourselves, to each other, and to the world we call home. Through Hope and Bhavishya, The author reminds us that in the rush to expand beyond Earth, our values must grow just as expansively.
Value by Dr James John is a captivating exploration of a future shaped by exponential technological growth. The story is set in a future where AI has become an integral part of human life, from mundane tasks to groundbreaking scientific discoveries. The author skillfully blends futuristic concepts with relatable human emotions, creating a compelling narrative that is both thought-provoking and entertaining.
One of the novel’s strengths lies in its exploration of the ethical implications of AI. As technology advances, the line between human and machine becomes increasingly blurred, raising questions about identity, consciousness, and the nature of existence. The characters are well-developed and relatable, each grappling with the challenges and opportunities presented by this new technological era. The author’s vivid descriptions and fast-paced narrative keep readers engaged from start to finish.
Value is not just a science fiction novel; it is a commentary on the human condition and our relationship with technology. Overall, Value is a thought-provoking and insightful read that offers a glimpse into a future that may not be so far away. It is the year 2035; Alice and Job, Indian immigrants lived with their daughter Hope in the United States. Ten-year-old Hope has a personal AI companion called Bud. Bud has the capabilities to read and understand even micro-expressions of the human for whom it is the designated companion, which meant Bud could understand everything about Hope more than her own family. Both Alice and Job are excited but also apprehensive about having an AI assistant with such extreme capabilities.
In a world where AI has such hold on humans’ life and intricate details of their daily life, when Earth also collapses due continuous stress to the environment, will Hope and her daughter Bhavishya be able to survive forms the rest of the story.
Along with being a sci-fi story where the author imagines how technology would have taken over human lives ten years from now, the story also examines what we fear today — Ethical implications of AI. The author excels at combining the real-world issues of today with a futuristic world a decade later. The author hence points out on the need for Responsible AI and the need for humane touch to technology. However, I would have liked the characters developed better with more depth.
Overall, the Value is a good sci-fi thriller that caters to readers of the genre.
Whatta spellbinding read. A few hours ago, I completed it and still can't get over enough of the narration and concepts.
Don't think this book is a brilliant blend of human emotions, technology, and environmental crises because it's more than that once you delve into it.
The story revolves around the girl named Hope, born in 2025, who became the symbol of extraordinary events that would change the history of humanity.
The constant rise of artificial intelligence, technology, and environmental displacement made the whole world move to Mars to find a new home for humanity.
The story throughout does not just cover the journey of Hope but also shows the picture of future generations, as Hope's daughter Bhavishya plays an intriguing and significant role to depict the pre- and post-advances differences of thought process in generation. Every character in the book has something to offer, and therefor reflects the literary genius of the author. The author has tremendously maintained the quotient of human emotions and intelligence along with technology.
Overall,
Well narrated. Superb character development and building. Engaging. Thought provoking.
Book :Value Author : Dr James John Review: Value presents a thought-provoking exploration of humanity’s future, shaped by rapid technological advancements and the evolution of AI. Year 2025, artifical intelligence AI has become core important to the humans, Alice and Job are an ordinary parents to a 10yr old girl, Hope which has an AI companion name, Bud. It's wonderful how she cope up with all the things in her life with Bud by her side but a constant worry in her mother's mind is completely dependency on AI. Later in the story, hope is now a grown up girl, due to some environmental issue Hope should leave Earth to Mars for survival. Author had balanced both man and machine with a help of a beautiful story, that can be seen in future. The story is soft, slow and calm with a message that how a man made AI but now it's vice versa. It's a short read, with an interesting plot to explore. Value, reveals its potential with both global issues and personal relationships. Author's writing style is indeed good, and upto the mark making this book a highly recommend one! I would love to watch a movie on the book Value. Value holds not just about AI but personal relations with economic glitches. All the characters in the book are well portrait by the author.
Narration: It's a simple book, with easy language and interesting chapters over all making a good read!
"For even in the face of shadows on the horizon, the embers of human resilience still flickered, refusing to be extinguished, fuelled by the echoes of a prophecy whispered by machines."
Firstly, kudos to the author for such lovely names given to the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed the read and was in a hangover for a long time. We are almost entering 2025, the year 'Hope' is born. We are able to see the reference of AI not just in corporate but in every sector. Similarly, the girl Hope was born and raised with the advent of AI. While one might think that this is totally a "sci-fi" kind of a book, the author proves us wrong by versatile themes. For example, human emotions are penned down, and it'll blow your mind away. The thinking across the generations expresses Generation Gap really well.
As a reader whose cup of tea isn't sci-fi, I can vouch for you that this won't be a boring read. The story was intriguing and engaging at the same time. It was a fast-paced read that made me happy.
Value by Dr James John is an intriguing dive into the future of humanity, technology, and ethics.
The story centers on Hope and her daughter, Bhavishya, navigating a world shaped by AI, and what makes it stand out is how personal it feels.
Although, my personal favourite is the world building which Dr. John has done brilliantly in the book. I was easily able to imagine the futuristic world dominated by technological advancements and especially with AI as it's heart.
Moreover, Hope’s struggle to balance progress with core values, highlighting parental love and responsibility in an ever-changing world was inspiring to read.
While I loved the plot and overall theme of a futuristic world, the writing sometimes felt verbose, slowing the pace slightly.
But overall, Value is an introspective and inspiring read that left me reflecting on our growing dependence on technology and its impact on future generations.
“The future is uncertain," she said, “but we fight. For every coral polyp that survives, for every fish that finds sanctuary, we win a small victory."

Value is a scifi book which every reader has to know the changes of world present and future , a must read .
This book is a work of science fiction where we see a future world which is taken over by AI. We see the changing world through a generation of women in a family, we see the backstory of Alice, current story of Hope and then her daughter Bhavishya. I liked how the technology advanced and people accepted it and saw the advantages of AI, it helped humans in the book a lot but at the same time we see these humans carrying forward the traditional aspects as well like Sun salutations. Their time on Mars and from the start of the habitation on Mars to their lives on Mars was fun to read especially seeing Earth through Bhavishya's eyes was very emotional. I liked how the humans learnt from their mistakes and carried forward what was actually good, I wish that would happen in real life as well before it's too late.
So this is my first sci-fi read . I wanted to expand my horizons and read something different. All of you are already aware that I don’t experiment much when it comes to reading books. I did not have much to compare it to. So I started reading this book as an amateur without any expectation.
Coming to the plot, the story is based in the year 2035. Hope’s parents gifted her an AI based companion named Bud who has the ability to understand and interpret Hope’s deepest emotions. However, both of her parents are excited as well as somewhere a bit fearful of Bud’s presence in their daughter’s life. Her mother is also afraid that Bud’s constant presence will take Hope away from forming meaningful relationships with humans of her age. And she is also apprehensive of the fact that Bud may try to manipulate her as he is aware of Hope’s emotions. Both of them want Hope to have a peaceful and healthy relationship with Bud.
The book consists of 12 chapters. The book is simple and easy to read. It is quite an engaging read and very fast paced. However, it will be of interest to anyone who has interest in Artificial intelligence or has knowledge of it.

The cover of the book is aptly designed and the title is totally relevant to the content. The plot of the story is interesting, engaging and futuristic. It's a perfect blend of science, fiction, technology, climate change, survival etc. The author has narrated the story really well which makes it an engaging read. Language used is simple and lucid. Character development is also good. All characters are doing justice to their roles and through the eyes of three generations we've seen their personal struggles as well as the impact of technology on human race.
I was reading the kindle version, which was pretty good in quality. The value by James John offers a compelling exploration of personal and societal worth, also, delves into themes of Identity and purpose of Technology and nature and the relationship with human being. It talks about the impact it will have if he decide to live with influence of AI and a very positive and interesting way. As the narrative asset in a very Technology dependent future it was Britain interesting to read all the I wasn't able to put it in science fiction category. The flow of the narrative is very simple yet thought provoking. I was impressed by how also used the meaning of the book to be its title. After reading I was satisfied with the name of the book. There was a blend of Technology and nature to it and that was really beautiful to read. There were also some parts that made me frown in an eagerness to know more. I enjoyed the book pretty much.
